Chapter 6
Alessia's POV
I wake up groaning at the sharp pain piercing my head; my body feels stiff and sore. I try to compose myself, wondering where I am. The last thing I remembered was the guy who broke into my apartment and threw me against the wall. Struggling to sit up straight I looked around, I was met by a familiar room. What was I doing back here? Did this guy send someone after me? Maybe he is working with Sergei? All these questions are going through my head. I stand up abruptly, making my head pulse and my vision blurry for a moment. I let myself have a minute to compose myself before I stood up. I went over to the door only to find it locked. Strange. I though. Why would he lock me in this room? Suddenly I heard someone by the door and quickly walked back to the bed, ignoring the pain in my stomach. The door swung open and closed, bringing my attention to the same guy from the other night.
He looked at me and asked, "Are you hurt?” In his deep Italian voice. I looked behind him, afraid that they would come in and take me. He cleared his throat after it took forever to answer him. Looking back at him, I shook my head. I really shouldn't have done that. My face scrunched up in pain as I felt a sharp pain jab in my head. "Seite,” he said more to himself than to me.
He sighed and then squinted at me. "You lied to me."
I looked at him confused. "When did I lie to you?" I let the question slip out, and realizing I said it out loud, I bit my lip. Shit!
"You know the guys who tried to kidnap you, and your name is not Gioia Brambilla.” I pretend to be offended. "I did not lie about anything; if you want an ID, I can give it to you.” He looked me in the eyes, feeling like he was searching for something in my eyes. I broke eye contact first and looked at the wall, which had suddenly become very interesting. "Anyone can get a fake ID. I can tell you are lying to me."
"So it was you who sent that guy to me? And now I have to hear you're false accusations?" He keeps staring at me coldly, making shivers run down my spine. "I am never wrong, and I have sent no one after you; if I wanted you, I would have gone and got you myself." I scoffed but decided to show some respect for him since he was the one who saved my life.
"I told you I hate liars; all you have to do is tell me who you really are and why those guys wanted to kidnap you."
"And I'm telling you I didn't lie!" He shrugged and said, "You will stay in this room until you tell me the truth." He turns around, muttering something. "Hey, where are you going? You can't just leave me here locked up!' He ignored me and opened the door, looking at me one last time before closing it. I stand up and run to the door, trying to open it. "Babbuino! Open this fucking door, moron! Just wait until I get my hands on you're ugly face! You're sorry, ass, will regret locking me up!” Okay, I may be lying now, but in fact, God sent to woman. Blond, fucking well-built, I think he can hurt a girl if his one that likes it rough, blue eyes that look like the ocean, and oh my, those tattoos! Man what I would give up for just one night with him. You're missing the point here. Stop drooling and focus. My subconscious tells me.
I went back to the bed knowing he was not going to unlock it soon. My body aches. Letting out a frustrated groan I laid back down, sighing at my situation. I was tired, afraid and my body was aching all over. It feels like I'm back home with all these bruises. My exhaustion overtook every other emotion, and soon I found myself drifting to sleep.
I groaned, still quite sleepy, and turned my head, letting my eyes slowly open. With my eyes only half open, I could see someone standing next to the bed, groaning again. I fully open my eyes and looked up at the person who woke me up. I quickly sat up right and pushed myself away from him. I was now fully awake. "I didn’t mean to scare you," he apologized with a small smile.
"Then you shouldn’t have stared at me like a creep while I was sleeping." I mumbled, but he must have heard it because he was laughing.
"I didn’t mean to come forward as a creep; I'm sorry". He said sending me a friendly smile.
"Why are you here?" I asked, pulling the cover closer to me. "I was sent to check up on you and couldn’t help but notice that long mark on your back." I frowned.
"How did it happen?" I shrugged. "I fell on a glass table when I was a kid", I lie. He just nods, not believing the bullshit I just told him. "You're not a very good liar." He states.
"Hey, what do you mean?" I pretended to be offended. "The wound has obviously been caused by someone, because if you fell on a glass table like you said you had, the cut wouldn't be looking like an x on your back." I blushed, feeling exposed, and turned away from him. "It's alright, we all have our secrets." I just nodded without looking at him.
"How are your head and stomach feeling?" He asked, looking to see if I had any pain. "All better now, thank you." I lied again. I don’t want anyone examining me. "You know I can tell you're lying; I will send Stefano to come and check up on your stomach again. Last night, the boss told us you had a few blows to your stomach; we just need to make sure nothing is broken."
I bit my lips at the thought that someone might see all my scars. "I will give you some time to think about it," he said, moving towards the door. "What's your name?" He asked before opening the door.
Gioia!" I said without hesitation. "I'm Samuele; nice to meet you." He said it with a smile. Only then did I notice how handsome he was, from his short black hair to his gray eyes and broad shoulders. I nodded and watched as he left the room, leaving me alone once again.
I was lying down on my bed staring at the ceiling when the door suddenly opened and the man who helped me walked in. "Ready to tell me the truth?" I just stare at him. What is his problem?
"If you tell me the truth I will let you go." "I don’t have anything to tell you, I already told you the truth". He looked at me annoyed. "Fine, if you don’t want to tell me the truth you will stay locked up."
"I will send someone to check on your injuries." He said before closing the door again. Leaving me to wonder why it was so important to him to tell the truth.
Chapter 64 Johnny's POV The church was filled with our closest friends and family. I was standing at the altar talking to Ciro. "Are you ready to make her your wife?" he asked with a grin. "I have never been more ready." My mother walked up to me, "Your bride is nervous," she whispered. "I will talk to her," I said, walking away to find my bride. I knocked on her door when Camilla opened it. "Thank God you are here she's freaking out!" She said pulling me into the room leading me to the bathroom door and I can't help laughing at how stressed the girls look all because of my wife-to-be. "Alessia baby?" I knock on the door. "Johnny? What are you doing here?" She asked frantically when she heard my voice. "I'm here to talk to you. I was told you were freaking out." "I'm afraid you will leave me once I get fat," she sniffed, and I wish I could take her in my arms and tell her that she will never get fat in my eyes. "Baby you know that will never happen I love you for you, not f
Chapter 63Alessia’s POVIt's been three weeks since I found out that I'm pregnant. Bella is the only one who knows I'm pregnant. I asked her not to tell anyone until I had told Johnny. Mason and Stefanie have already left, saying they need to take care of a few things back home. The last week, Johnny has been acting strangely; he always seems to not want to spend time with me, which is beginning to bug me. That's one of the reasons I haven't told him about the pregnancy yet. He would come to bed when I was already asleep and be gone before I woke up. Every time I text or call him, he says he is busy with some important meetings and that he will talk to me later. That's why I was surprised when he texted me this morning, telling me to go shopping with the girls and to treat myself to something beautiful to wear tonight because he wants to take me out.“Girls, I'm hungry and tired," I moaned as we went into the sixth shop for today."We will get something to eat after we finish shopping
Chapter 62Alessia’s POV"Mamma, pappa?" I said as I entered their room. We came to the house where Johnny's mother is staying, seeing that the house back in Rome needs some repair, or rather a makeover, after what happened a few weeks ago.All of us were exhausted and took a few days off. Many of our men were injured, and some are dead. The Russians withdrew from the fight after Sergei gave them the order to stop. Lorenzo lost many men, and the others ran away, seeing that they were losing against our people and the Americans.Luckily, the Americans only had people injured. Mason got his fiancé back safely, and they will be heading back to the USA in a few days. Stefanie is a down-to-earth girl; she has long black hair and blue eyes. When I saw her and Mason together, I knew that they loved each other just by the way they acted whenever they were together. She has been kidnapped for six months and tortured every day, thinking no one will rescue her after Lorenzo told her Mason thinks
Chapter 61Alessia’s POVWe stayed in the office. No one spoke, and no one moved. We waited. This is it; this is what was supposed to happen, but we didn't think it would be this soon. We didn't plan for them to attack first. My gut feeling says Carter told them about our plans. Thinking about him makes my blood boil.If I find out he sold us out, I will be the one dealing with him!I can tell Viona is scared I know I am scared shitless. What if they find us?Will Johnny be in time to rescue us? I felt a hand on my shoulder, and I turned my head around to look at Viona."We are going to be okay." She tried to comfort me, but I could hear the fear in her voice. I knew she was trying to be brave.I smiled, squeezing her hand in return. "I know your brother won't let anything happen to us."That's when we heard the gunshots. This is it. I don't know how we are going to protect ourselves against these mafia men.We were holding on to each other now. I can only imagine all the bodies lying
Chapter 60Alessia’s POVThings were going quite smoothly the next few days after the Americans arrived, and everyone was settled in their rooms. I didn't think these men would get along, but they proved me wrong, and somehow I think Bella has something to do with it.She is a tough bitch and doesn't take shit from anyone. It's amazing to think that they are actually gang members, but once you are in their company, you can tell they are nice people. I never thought that I would get attached to them, but life has shown me that I can't judge a book by its cover. I never thought that people like them would be the ones who saved me from my so-called parents. Speaking of parents, I can't wait to see mine after all these years. Just thinking about them brings tears to my eyes. Who would have thought that my life would change this much?I haven't seen Johnny all day. He and the rest were busy in the office going over the plan that's going to end Lorenzo, Sergei, and his father in a few days.
Chapter 59Johnny’s POVI pressed my lips to Alessia's. Her lips were so sweet and addictive that I never wanted to stop kissing her. I poured all of my feelings into the kiss. I want her to know how much I love her. Gasping for breath, we separate from each other. I looked at her, smiling like I had just won the jackpot, and she was smiling at me, watching me. I wonder what she's thinking about. The thought of her always has me smiling. I can't believe that I'm head over heels in love with this amazing woman. I won't show it to others because my enemies will know she's my weakness, and I won't let them hurt her to get to me.I know that I used to be a player, but ever since I met Alessia, I couldn't hook up with someone else because Alessia was always on my mind and I wasn't able to focus on anything or anyone. She consumes my mind every second of the day.I can't believe that I opened up like that in front of Bella; it's something I would have never done, and I knew I had shocked Bel
