Chapter 4

Shane gave me a quick look.

"Of course I'm sure. You love staying late, so stay late."

Shane went back to his papers and stopped looking at me.

I started to regret this.

I could no longer slack off whenever I wanted, now that I was under his watchful eye.

Moving into his office felt like the end of the world.

I tapped on my keyboard.

I glanced up. Shane did not react and acted like nothing was happening.

He was really good at pretending.

I smiled to myself.

I clicked on the mouse.

I saw him start to turn red.

He had been faking it all along.

He was doing a pretty good job.

'I wonder how long you can keep this act up,' I thought.

What position was the mouse in yesterday when it brought him to his knees?

Was it here?

I moved it slightly.

Maybe it was over there…

"Jamie!"

I could not help but smile.

Ah, I found it.

I clicked again.

Shane looked up, his eyes blazing. "You're doing this on purpose, aren't you?"

I shook my head, trying to look as innocent as possible.
