My boss, who made me work overtime every single day, finally got what was coming to him. Somehow, he got connected to my new keyboard. It was like he was synced to it. His face flushed red, his eyes brimming with tears. "Don't type anymore," he begged. I just smiled and nudged the mouse. "Don't move the mouse either!" 'Do you expect me to just stop because you said so? Wouldn't that make me look pathetic?' I thought to myself. I kept working until midnight. Just as I was about to leave, I glanced down. The carpet at my boss's feet was soaked through. I figured he must have knocked over his glass of water.

Just My Type Chapter 5
"Sure, I'll go find Mr. Gibson."I stood up, really annoyed."Why do you need him? What can he even do?"Shane shook his head. "He can't do much, but he can come to the party with me."I banged my hand on the table. "No, I'll go. Why change your plus one for no reason? I was busy before, but now I'm free."Shane looked at me and gave a small smile. "You don't really mean that."I turned away, silent. At the party, Shane barely touched his wine, so I drank most of it for him.I always drank for two when I was with him.He had never been great at handling his liquor. Some people just did not get it.They had to come over and stir up trouble."Mr. Lawson, do you not like the wine you're being served?"I smiled and gently dismissed the guy. "Mr. Lawson doesn't have a problem with the menu. He's not great with drinks, so I'm drinking for him."However, the guy would not back down."Who do you think you are? I want to drink with Mr. Lawson, not you."I clenched my fists. Why

Shane gave me a quick look."Of course I'm sure. You love staying late, so stay late."Shane went back to his papers and stopped looking at me.I started to regret this.I could no longer slack off whenever I wanted, now that I was under his watchful eye.Moving into his office felt like the end of the world.I tapped on my keyboard.I glanced up. Shane did not react and acted like nothing was happening. He was really good at pretending.I smiled to myself.I clicked on the mouse.I saw him start to turn red.He had been faking it all along. He was doing a pretty good job.'I wonder how long you can keep this act up,' I thought. What position was the mouse in yesterday when it brought him to his knees? Was it here?I moved it slightly.Maybe it was over there…"Jamie!"I could not help but smile.Ah, I found it.I clicked again.Shane looked up, his eyes blazing. "You're doing this on purpose, aren't you?"I shook my head, trying to look as innocent as possible.

I was stunned by what I was seeing. No, this could not be happening!"Mr. Lawson, you seem a bit overwhelmed."I was getting pretty overwhelmed too, honestly."Be quiet!"I finished the document as fast as I could. When I looked up again, Shane had given in to exhaustion. He was crying.Even though he was always so demanding, it was hard not to feel sorry for him as I watched him sobbing.I held him gently. "It's okay. Everything's going to be alright."His voice was strained. "Get rid of that lousy keyboard!"I knew he would not let me off the hook that easily. However, the keyboard was brand new and had been pretty pricey.I did not want to part with it.Now that I had blackmail material, I did not want to give in so easily. I planned to take it home.Maybe distance would make him unsync with the keyboard. If I kept my distance, Shane would probably be all right.Shane fell asleep the moment he got in the car, exhausted from a long day.He slept soundly while I wa

No way...I froze in surprise. How many times had it already been today? Was he really that desperate?Good thing everyone had gone home.If they heard that noise, who knew what they would think?I went over to see what was happening.Shane was inside, looking upset again. He was crying.God… I had to admit, he looked completely different when he cried… almost captivating.I could not believe what I was seeing."Come here... Help me get up," he said. His voice quivered just a little. He stretched his hand out to me.I could not really say no.I nodded and lifted him into my arms. The new clothes I had bought for him were about to be ruined too.He always acted like he was untouchable. Why did he suddenly...While I was trying to figure it out, Shane struggled to speak. "Forget the party… take me to the hospital first."I nodded again and carried him out.I had not turned off my laptop yet."Mr. Lawson, I'll just finish up with a few more files before we go."
