Kaelith Room

"What are you two doing here?"

We bumped into Dad at the bottom of the stairs, just before heading to the archive room. His gaze was piercing, especially towards me; Dad looked different from usual.

I’d never seen Dad like this before, as we’d rarely spoken or seen each other over the years.

Alaric tugged my hand. "We were just having a chat," he replied.

Alaric pulled me away from there; he immediately took me into my room, then closed the door.

"Get ready, Vaelora. Tomorrow I’ll make sure you’re with Kaelith. You two need to stay away from this house for a while."

I furrowed my brow, confused. Previously, Alaric had been furious when I was with Kaelith, but now he was actually supporting him.

The Haugen family curse is indeed terrifying, but I’m sure there must be a way out of this.

“What do you think—what if Father has known about me and Kaelith all this time? What if he’s been planning all of this from the start?”

Alaric looked frustrated. “That was the plan from the start. Back when your mother was pregnant with you, you nearly met with an accident, but I don’t know what she promised that led to Kaelith and Red disappearing for a while.”

“All right, tomorrow I’ll go and see Kaelith. For the time being, I’ll stay with him and try to solve the riddles in this book.”

Alaric nodded, then left my room. I lay back on the bed; the moonlight shone brightly through the gaps in the window, which wasn’t covered by my curtains.

My room was dark, with only the bedside lamp on. I turned towards the window, hoping that all the bad things I’d been through were just a dream.

But I didn’t want my encounter with Kaelith to have been merely a dream; ever since he entered my life, my thoughts have been constantly on him.

I touched my own lips without meaning to; once again, I was reminded of his touch. I realised one thing: that I was already missing him again.

Just as Alaric promised, today I’ll start living with Kaelith. It turns out he has another house not far from Haugen Corp. A luxurious home with an antique design still intact, boasting a spacious garden.

Kaelith doesn’t mess around with his age; his tastes remain true to his era.

What else can you expect? He has, after all, lived for over 400 years.

Kaelith held my hand tightly as we walked into the house, with Simon following behind us—he was now back to his old self. He helped carry my small suitcase.

Alaric had just come to see me off; he said that if he stayed too long, Father would become suspicious.

Actually, Father himself rarely asked about me or spoke to me. My family’s relationships were very cold towards one another, except for me and Alaric, who had always been together since childhood.

“Where’s my room?” I asked Kaelith.

He took me upstairs; we entered a large room with a beautiful double bed. Everything in this grand house was exquisite and distinctive.

“Of course, here, with me.”

Kaelith pulled me to sit on the soft bed; he then opened the window, letting the sunlight stream in. The air from outside felt fresh as the breeze blew in.

Then Kaelith sat beside me, gently stroking the top of my head. Every touch felt so careful, as if he were looking out for me.

This is Kaelith, a handsome man with red hair and beautiful hazel eyes. His skin was soft, though cool; his gaze was sometimes sharp, and that only added to his handsomeness.

I touched his cheek, then realised something.

"Warm?"

That’s right. Kaelith’s skin feels warm; usually she’s cold, unlike humans.

“Is that true?” Kaelith herself seemed sceptical of what I was saying.

“You’re warm, Kaelith; your temperature is the same as mine right now,” I said, cupping her cheeks.

Kaelith looked at me in confusion, but I knew deep down he must be happy.

“C-could it be that I’m slowly returning?” he said softly.

He then cupped my face, “Perhaps I’m slowly becoming human again, just like you, Vaelora.”

“But how is that possible?” I couldn’t believe it myself.

Kaelith took the ancient book I was carrying and turned the pages one by one. The names were still listed there; nothing had changed, including our names, which were still linked.

Then he turned the page; there, a ritual symbol different from before appeared.

Kaelith studied it closely, as if reading every symbol.

“The night of the total blood moon eclipse has shifted again; the date is gone,” said Kaelith, pointing to the page in the book.

He was right; previously, the time when the eclipse was due to occur had been clearly written there, but now it was gone.

Has something changed? Has the archive room in my house… caused something to change here?

Kaelith closed the book and put it away, then sat down beside me again. I could smell the scent growing stronger from his body—a masculine scent I’d never forget.

Kaelith reached out, took my hand, and kissed it.

“For now, I want to spend every moment with you,” he whispered.

I stared at him in disbelief; Kaelith was teasing me with that sensual gaze of his.

“Kaelith…”

He pushed my body so that I lay on the bed, his hand gently touching my face. From my cheek to my neck, his movements sent a slight shiver down my spine.

"Vaelora, you’re so beautiful; no wonder I fell in love with you. You were truly meant for me," he whispered.

That phrase again, yet despite that, my heart still fluttered every time he expressed his feelings.

Kaelith was like an endless echo, constantly reverberating within my heart and mind.

He then kissed my cheek, “Do you want me too?”

I nodded slowly, “Yes, I want you. Kaelith Vaeltharion Morveth, all of yours.”

  • Kael's Chosen Girl   The Archive Room

Today we finally returned to Oslo after my condition improved. Simon, the man who had previously taken over Kael’s role, has now returned to his job as Kael’s secretary, though he did not come with us.Kaelith’s decision to stay by my side was firm; he said he would never let me go again.Alaric was waiting for us at the door; he stood there looking annoyed. The atmosphere in the house felt oppressive, as if there were an evil energy lingering around. Could Red be back? This is madness; it’s impossible for that creature to reappear if it’s already been destroyed.“Your father is at home,” Kaelith whispered to me.“Is that what’s making the atmosphere here feel different?” I asked him.We had already got out of the car; I walked alongside Kaelith towards Alaric, our hands clasped tightly together, and Alaric saw it.“Did you open a ritual portal in this house? That’s probably the cause, not your father.”I nodded slowly, as I had once tried a ritual in the archive building to bring Kae

  • Kael's Chosen Girl   A Little Kiss

I still feel as though everything I’ve been through is a dream, yet it’s real. After Kaelith returned yesterday, my body suddenly gave out, so much so that I couldn’t make it back to Oslo today. Saga has already helped me let Alaric know that I can’t come home just yet.Today, I can’t even get out of bed; my body can only sit, lean back, or lie down.Kaelith sits on the edge of the bed, his beautiful hazel eyes gazing at me with sorrow, as if he feels a great sense of guilt.“Why?”He moves closer to me slowly, until we’re very close. His hand takes mine; it’s cold. His skin still feels cold, just like back then. Why?“I should never have met you in the first place,” he said suddenly.“What do you mean by that, Kael? I’ve gone to such lengths to bring you back, doing everything I possibly could!”“Your energy, Vaelora… it’s slowly being sapped away; our names should have already been erased from that cursed book.”I fell silent; it felt as though all this was a series of misfortunes b

  • Kael's Chosen Girl   My Chosen Girl

My body was about to hit the floor, but I felt someone catch me. As soon as I opened my eyes, I couldn’t hold back the tears. The room was bright again; there was no wind blowing, nor any glowing ritual.A red-haired man was holding me tightly; this scent… this face… it’s my Kaelith.“Kaelith…”“Oh, Vaelora… my chosen one, why did you hurt yourself?” I heard Kaelith’s voice tremble; the man was already crying as he gently stroked my cheek.I could only manage a weak smile; my palm was still bleeding, and he began to touch it, pressing a handkerchief against it to stop the blood from flowing.“If I hadn’t done this, would you really have come back? I’ve managed to bring my Kaelith back.”Kaelith was still wearing the same clothes as the last time we met; that white shirt was now worn and tattered, paired with black trousers, and he wasn’t weari

  • Kael's Chosen Girl   The Painting

The painting hung majestically on the main wall of the great hall of this vast castle. Kaelith looked dashing in his red and black royal robes, adorned with golden embellishments. His hazel eyes were piercing, his lips thin, and his jawline chiselled. Here he is, Kaelith, the one destined to be with me. I gasped; before I knew it, tears were streaming down my face. This portrait of Kaelith is so beautiful, it’s as if the man himself were actually here.I turned away, quickly wiping my tears before anyone noticed.“It’s so beautiful, I found myself saying his name without realising,” I said to the fake Kael.I caught a glimpse of some small writing beneath the painting. Kaelith’s full name was written there; thank goodness, I could use that as an excuse.“There, his name is written clearly, Mr Morveth,” Saga said suddenly; the man seemed to be protecting me.The man with black hair merely nodded quietly, then we continued on our way into another room; it turned out to be the producti

  • Kael's Chosen Girl   Kaelith is Back?

I waited for a while, but nothing happened. The ritual symbols on the floor didn’t light up like they did when Red performed the ritual in the building that night. What’s gone wrong? Which method should I try so I can perform the ritual just like I did then? Should I cut my hand and use blood to activate the ritual symbols? I’m wasting my time; Kaelith will never come back. I tried to erase the ritual symbols I’d drawn, but it turned out they’d become permanent. This is mad; even when I tried to wash them away with water, they wouldn’t fade. “Damn it, what if Mum or Alaric find out about this? What can I use to cover it up?” I searched the room for some old cloth, hoping to use it to cover up the ritual circle. I locked the archive room door again with the ancient book I’d brought in secretly; I had to take it to Vaeltharion Corp tomorrow. Perhaps there might be a clue from that fake Kael. After putting the ancient book away in my room, I returned the archive room key
