"Conversation"

I could not see his face but I guess he felt my presence because he turned his head to look at me. As soon as we made eye contact, I turned on my heels and ran down.

I felt like I had been hit in the stomach. Now my hopes of ever meeting Karish have been shattered, along with the conditions for a good night's sleep. Anyway, I went to the kitchen and set the water to heat in the kettle. I needed to think of something, anything that could distract from the picture I just saw.

I looked at the bubbles moving up through the narrow strip of glass on the kettle, I was so focused on the small bubbling sounds that I did not notice that I was not alone anymore. I felt that the atmosphere in the room had changed and turned around. I jumped out of my seat at the huge wall of muscle that stood so close to me.

I did not expect Karish to come after me so quickly, thinking that he might be too busy with Blondie by now.

"Umm .. I'm sorry. I ... did not mean to interrupt or spy on you." I chatted.
