Clifford was also looking toward the entrance, wondering who the assailant was. He then looked down at his injured, bleeding hand, his eyes hardening with bitter hostility.

Keith and Jason were thoroughly shocked, anxiously observing Clifford's wound. They quickly scanned the vicinity, yet no suspicious person was in sight.

There were only the receptionists at the front desk and the guards standing at the entrance present in the lobby, who stared at the confrontation in disbelief, remaining frozen in their positions.

Seraphine took quite some time to steady her breathing. She then looked up and met Clifford's furious eyes, which were as black as night yet somehow conveyed a rigid, frozen hostility.
