A woman stared down through the glass window of a company building. Large cars passed back and forth below. Towering buildings in the middle of the city welcomed her view. The density of urban life had become her daily world one far removed from the forest.

Her thoughts drifted to the past. She took a long breath. For years she had tried to forget the darkest chapter of her life, yet it continued to haunt her.

The woman clenched her fists. Her chest trembled. Why did the pain still linger? The disappointment inside her had awakened a deep hatred. She had frozen her once-gentle heart. There was no weak woman left to be trampled on only a cold woman living without emotion.

Unknowingly, five years had passed since she came here. She had fought tirelessly for a better life, learning from her experiences to never be weak again.

Now, she was a woman standing at the top. No one could underestimate her anymore. No one dared throw insults at her again.

“Miss? Miss Ale? The meeting is about to start.” A voice snapped the woman named Ale out of her reverie.

“Alright, I’ll head there now,” Ale replied coolly.

She brushed away her negative thoughts and walked toward her grand chair. Her office looked large and luxurious. Ale’s eyes landed on the card on her desk that read Director.

Her phone vibrated, signaling an incoming call. Ale quickly picked it up from the desk and answered it.

“Ale? Where are you?” The voice on the other end made Ale raise her eyebrows in confusion. The person sounded panicked.

“I’m at the company, Bella. What’s wrong?” Ale replied while tidying up the scattered proposals on her desk.

“It’s bad, Ale! Zale is missing!” At that, Ale’s heart began pounding violently. Zale? Her beloved daughter had gone missing? How could that be?

“Missing? What do you mean?” Ale asked, barely processing Bella’s words as her mind flooded with terrifying thoughts.

“I’m so sorry, Ale. I only ran after Kenneth and Keenan when they were playing, but when I managed to catch the two of them, I lost sight of Zale.” Bella’s voice trembled. Ale fell silent for a moment before reacting in shock.

“Oh my God I’ll be there right away,” Ale said hurriedly.

She rushed into her car and sped off, leaving the meeting behind.

“Miss Ale! The clients are waiting!” her secretary shouted from a distance, clearly anxious as Ale abandoned an important meeting.

Ale drove like lightning, cutting through the sea of vehicles recklessly. She didn’t care about her own safety. Her child’s life mattered more than anything her little angel who had arrived in the darkest moment of her life.

After about fifteen minutes, Ale finally arrived at the children’s playground. Every week, Bella brought all the kids there to ease their boredom.

“Kenneth! Keenan!” Ale called out to her twin boys, worry heavy in her voice.

“Mom!” Kenneth and Keenan ran to her and hugged her tightly.

“I’m sorry, Ale. I was careless,” Bella said, guilt ridden. She knew she shouldn’t have been careless while watching Ale’s baby.

“It’s alright, Bella,” Ale replied. She understood how exhausting it was to care for three toddlers at once.

“How could you two leave Zale?” Ale asked her twins.

“We’re sorry, Mom. We failed to watch her,” Kenneth admitted, feeling guilty. As an older brother, he should have protected his little sister.

“You have to punish us,” Kenneth and Keenan said, tugging at their own ears their usual act of self-punishment when they were wrong.

“No, sweetheart. Mom loves you both so much. This isn’t your fault,” Ale said softly, stroking their cheeks.

“Ale, I caught Zale’s scent heading toward the Caveron Forest,” Bella said, confirming the trail. The forest was far from human settlements and the one Ale despised the most.

“That forest?” Ale muttered, pointing toward the uninhabited woods beside the playground.

“I’ll go search for her,” Ale said urgently.

“Ale, wait you remember your past there, don’t you?” Bella reminded her, hoping Ale wouldn’t return to that place.

“I don’t care about my pain, Bella. I’ll do anything to protect my children.” Bella felt touched. Ale loved her three kids fiercely. They were the ones who had pulled her out of darkness and given her purpose.

“Please watch Kenneth and Keenan.” Bella nodded firmly.

“Kenya, take over my body.”

“Ready, Ale. Let’s face real life together.” Ale immediately shifted into her wolf form a brown she wolf. Bella stepped back while holding the twins close.

A brief explanation about Kenya: Kenya was Ale’s wolf. She had brown fur and pitch black eyes. Ale never expected that after giving birth to her triplets, she would finally be able to shift. She was grateful to have a lively wolf like Kenya, who cheered her up in lonely times.

“Be careful, Ale, love!” Bella shouted as Kenya dashed into the forest.

Kenya ran through the dark forest filled with rocks. Steep cliffs lined one side, terrifyingly sharp and high.

At first, everything seemed normal only thick bushes greeting her. But then something strange started chasing her from behind. Kenya glanced back and widened her eyes when she saw a group of figures sprinting toward her.

“Damn, someone’s chasing us, Ale,” Kenya warned.

“Run faster,” Ale commanded.

“I can’t, Ale this is the fastest I can go.” It was Kenya’s maximum speed.

“He’s incredibly fast,” Kenya muttered in awe. She had never seen a wolf run that fast. But because she wasn’t watching her path, Kenya tripped over the rocks and tumbled down, her body rolling downhill as her vision went dark.

“Aunty Bella, when will Mother come here?” Kenneth walked sluggishly toward Bella, pouting Keenan beside him doing the same.“Be patient, my darlings, Kenneth and Keenan. Mother will surely come. Just wait a little longer.” Bella gently cupped Kenneth’s chin. She wanted to reassure them that their mother would definitely return.“I really miss Mother, aunty,” Keenan responded. Bella deeply understood the longing they both felt for their mother.“Yes, aunty misses her too. But we also miss Zale we’re used to playing with him. We feel guilty for leaving him behind when we ran.” Kenneth and Keenan lowered their heads. Both of them were burdened with guilt for abandoning their little brother.“That wasn’t your fault. Perhaps it was destiny. Your mother still has important work to do with your younger brother,” Bella explained, hiding the truth.“We understand, aunty. Maybe Mother really is very busy there. But… is she okay? And why did she suddenly have urgent work over there?” Kenneth as

Ale opened the window of her room. The wind immediately rushed inside. The morning air was so refreshing. The chirping of birds perched on the trees filled her ears. But there was also a noisy sound that disturbed Ale’s hearing.Ale looked down from the castle and smiled. Right below her room was the training arena of the Archery Academy. It reminded her of her past.Ale let out a bitter smile. Her past had been so terrible that it left her disabled for life. She clenched her fists. She would repay that pain more than double. This was her mission.“If I didn’t love men so much, maybe I would’ve become a true archer,” Ale said with a flat expression.“Loving is a weak thing. Because of it, I’ve always been hurt in every way.” Ale’s face remained emotionless. A deep sadness clutched her heart.“Mother.” Ale’s hands loosened. The anger in her face vanished instantly.“Oh, my princess is awake?” Ale walked towards her daughter, who was sitting on her bed.“Mother, last night I dreamed abo

“Bella.”“Finally, Ale, you mindlinked me.” Bella was happy that after such a long time, Ale finally contacted her. She had tried multiple times to mindlink Ale, but Ale seemed to have disappeared.“How are Kenneth and Keenan?” Ale asked eagerly, showing just how much she missed her two sons. She felt the urge to hug Kenneth and Keenan tightly.“Hm, they’re doing just fine. Kenneth and Keenan want to see you they really miss their mother. And one more thing, the school is asking for parents to attend a school event.” Bella said from the other side. Usually, during school events, Ale would always come to see her three children.“The teacher also asked about Zale, why he hasn’t been attending school.”“Please tell them Zale is accompanying his mother abroad.” Bella nodded in understanding. She couldn’t possibly say that Zale was lost. That would cause an uproar throughout the school.“I’m relieved that they’re doing well. I miss my two sons so much. I’ll try to attend.” Ale pressed her

“Zale.”“Where are you, darling?” Ale kept walking around the entire kingdom, searching for her child. Panic rose in her chest when she couldn’t find Zale anywhere. She even circled the same places several times until her body accidentally bumped into someone’s shoulder.“Uwow, my dear little sister!” squealed the person, stepping back slightly from the impact.Ale glared coldly at the woman smiling before her. She didn’t understand the woman’s intentions, so she decided to move past her. But the voice that came from the woman stopped her in her tracks.“Haha, I can’t believe you’ve returned after disappearing for five years. I must admit, you’re quite extraordinary,” the woman said, clapping her hands as she stepped right in front of Ale.“Move,” Ale said sharply, trying to pass her, but the woman refused to let her go.“Oh my, I can’t believe how brave you’ve become,” she said mockingly.“I don’t know you,” Ale replied coldly, her eyes fixed straight ahead.“Hey, I’m Keona, your sis

“Kenya, wake up.”“Humm.”“Open your eyes.” Kenya felt annoyed as Ale, her human, kept nudging her to open her eyes. She lazily and reluctantly obeyed. The black wolf slowly opened her eyes, and she was shocked to find many people staring at her. It looked like a concert Ale once watched in Chicago.Kenya stared innocently at the people there, including a handsome man who looked at her intensely, as if he wanted to devour her alive.“Don’t act recklessly, Kenya,” Ale whispered in warning.“What do you mean?” But Kenya didn’t understand the hidden meaning behind Ale’s words. She backed away fearfully, her legs still wrapped in something white.Because of her fear, Kenya recklessly transformed into a human, shocking everyone present.“Don’t, Kenya!!!” Ale screamed in her mind.“Da– darling?!” Zach muttered weakly as he watched the wolf he had saved transform into a human someone he was certain was his mate. But Ale had to face the misfortune of being completely naked in front of many pe

Zach was sitting comfortably with a cup of tea and a book in his hands. He crossed his legs as if a tea-and-reading session should not be disturbed. Steam drifted upward from the tea Zach had just poured into his cup.“Dad.”Zach shifted his gaze away from the book he was reading.“My baby.”Zach placed the book on the table. He stretched out both of his arms forward as if preparing to hug little Zale.“Come here.”With fiery enthusiasm, Zale ran toward Zach and embraced him.Zach lifted Zale’s small body and then sat her on his lap. He felt delighted by the presence of the little girl he had found in the forest.“You smell nice. Who bathed you, hmm…?” Zach sniffed the top of Zale’s head, her hair still half damp.“Luna Amarylis.”“No wonder you smell as sweet as strawberries.”Zach pinched Zale’s nose playfully, making her giggle.“I really like strawberries.”Zale spoke with heavy emphasis. She truly loved strawberries.“Really? If so, I’ll get some strawberries for you,” Zach said,
