Chapter Fourteen

The next morning, I woke up as a blistering heat consumed my body. It was not like before when I ran away from Leo. This was excruciating as it consumed every cell of my body my blood feeling as if it turned to lava within my veins. With each passing moment, the lava would spread, burning me from the inside out. I felt uncomfortable in my own skin, even as I sat in a tub full of ice.

Leo had left for a meeting this morning, because neither of us had anticipated my heat starting. He had been gone for what felt like an eternity, but immediately rushed to my side at the sight of my very naked body sprawled on the bed, writing in pain. He was angry since no one had informed him of what was happening, but it subsided as soon as he saw how much pain I was in.

I heard a growl rumble in his chest, as he came towards me straddling me, holding my hands above my head. His lips placed a gentle kiss on my mark, which sent a cold chill running through
