Chapter Thirty Five

“They’re almost ready to start the bidding, Love. Shall we?” Alistar’s sweet voice said, as he offered his arm to me. He looked so handsome in his suit, staring down at me with his big baby blues.
We started off the night with a small but pleasantly filling supper, which consisted of a wonderful selection of Tepas and wine. Several pairs of eyes had followed us as we moved throughout the event, sending shivers down my spine. As if Alister could sense my feelings, he shifted his seat closer, our arms brushing as we settled in at our small table that overlooked the auction floor.
There was something about his presence that seemed to calm everyone in the room, especially me. He was talking to the waiter, and I decided to really get a good look at him.
