Chapter 360

Author: Maureen Green
Gwyneth opened the refrigerator and looked at the array of ingredients inside, feeling a headache coming on.

She muttered, "Forget it, I'll just order takeout."

Then, she picked up her phone and ordered several dishes that Colin usually enjoyed.

Later when Colin was home, Gwyneth said in a sweet and flirtatious voice, "Colin, I made your favorite dishes. Come try them."

Colin looked at the food on the table but had absolutely no appetite. "I don't feel like eating. You go ahead."

Gwyneth asked with concern, "Colin, what's wrong? Are you feeling sick?"

He replied, "I'm fine. Don't worry about me."

Gwyneth felt hurt seeing Colin's cold demeanor. She didn't know what she'd done wrong to make him treat her so distantly.

She asked cautiously, "Colin, are you still upset with me? I know I shouldn't have mentioned Aspen before, but I was only thinking of your well-being."

Colin said, "I'm not upset with you. I'm just... just not in a good mood."

She tried to reason, saying, "Col

After hanging up the phone, Colin rubbed his temples. Zac walked in carrying two glasses of water and placed one in front of him. He asked, "Colin, why are you still hesitating? After everything Aspen's done to you, what are you still worried about?"Colin replied, taking a slow sip. "I'm not hesitating... I just want to make sure everything is foolproof."Zac snorted coldly. "Omniwonder Corp is ready on their end. The technical specs we provided saved them at least two years of R&D time." "How's the market reacting?""Excellent. Their products are 30% cheaper than Fuller Group's, and their advertisements are everywhere." A smug smile appeared on Zac's face as he added, "Fuller Group's stock price has been falling for three straight days."Colin nodded slightly. "Keep monitoring the situation, but don't tip our hand." "About Gwen—" "How is Gwyneth doing?" Colin interrupted him, his tone carrying a hint of concern.Zac's expression grew complicated. "Same as always. She's s

Aspen stared at the evidence, her thoughts racing and her emotions in turmoil. From guarded caution to eventual trust, her love for Aren had always carried a hint of hesitation. Now, the evidence felt like a spotlight, illuminating every dark corner of doubt and exposing the truth."Colin really went this far," Aspen said, setting the USB drive down and leaning back on the couch. "He truly doesn't care who he destroys."Aren sat beside her and gently squeezed her hand. "Are you okay?"Aspen let out a bitter laugh. "I'm fine. I just find it somewhat ridiculous because I used to think he at least had some moral boundaries. Now I see I was too naive." "This isn't your fault, Pen. Some people wear masks for so long that they can't even tell what's real anymore," Aren replied softly. Aspen turned to look at the night scene outside the window, lost in thought for a moment. ...Meanwhile, at the Fuller residence, Colin and Zac sat facing each other. In the corner of the room, a

Pierre was the first to speak up. "Ms. Nicholls makes a good point. Instead of worrying about hypotheticals, we should focus on actual results. Mr. Jefferson has, in fact, contributed to the company." Jacob nodded, saying, "I agree. There's no evidence right now that suggests Mr. Jefferson has any malicious intent."Seeing this, the other board members voiced their agreement one after another. Realizing the tide had turned against him, Colin sat back down coldly."Since everyone has no objections, this meeting is adjourned. Please have all departments prepare for the launch event," Aspen said as she closed her folder. ...Outside Fuller Group, Aren leaned against his car door, waiting for news from Aspen. His phone screen lit up with a text from Aspen. "Meeting's over. Everything went smoothly.""That's great," Aren replied. Then, he immediately dialed another number. "Gregory, have you traced the source of those anonymous emails?" "Mr. Jefferson, the email address was temp

After ending the call, Aspen picked up the mug of coffee from her desk and sipped it slowly. The bitter taste spread through her mouth, but it had the odd effect of clearing her mind. The next morning, the atmosphere in Fuller Group's conference room was tense. Aspen arrived ten minutes early and sat composedly in the head chair, flipping through the documents in her hand. The board members filed in one by one, whispering among themselves while frequently glancing her way.Colin was the last to enter, dressed in a black suit with a grim expression. "Good morning, everyone." Aspen looked up with a smile, as if yesterday's argument had never happened. "I'm sure you've all seen the news, so I've called everyone together today to clarify a few things." "Aspen, this concerns the company's reputation and must be handled carefully." Colin's tone was harsh. "Your relationship with Aren has indeed sparked a lot of speculation." Aspen set her folder down and clasped her hands on the

Aspen closed her folder and nodded calmly. "Schedule it for 3:00 pm."...Inside the boardroom, the atmosphere was tense. Several senior board members sat around the long table, their expressions grim. "Ms. Nicholls, I think we've all seen the article," said Miranda, the CFO, breaking the silence first. "This has caused significant damage to the company's reputation."Aspen remained composed. "It's just one article. Why make such a big deal out of it?""The problem isn't the article itself, but the fact that Mr. Jefferson's identity is genuinely suspicious," the marketing director, Pierre Burton, chimed in. "If he has connections with competitors, that's too big a risk for us." Aspen folded her hands on the table. "Seems like my personal life's become quite the boardroom concern."HR director, Jacob Ross, frowned. "This is no longer a personal matter. Fuller Group is about to go public, and any negative news will affect our stock price. Furthermore, Mr. Jefferson's motives for

The next morning, Aspen followed her usual routine and headed to the cafe near her office. She ordered a black coffee and opened her folder, preparing to review the press conference details one more time."Aren't you Aren's girlfriend? What a coincidence!" An unfamiliar male voice interrupted her thoughts.Aspen looked up to see a well-dressed middle-aged man standing by her table, smiling and looking pleasantly surprised. She closed her folder, her tone cold and distant as she asked, "I'm sorry, but you are?""Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Milo Tucker, and I've had business dealings with Aren in Eudrestesh," Milo replied, making himself comfortable in the seat across from her without invitation. "Never expected to run into you here. What are the odds?"Aspen's guard went up, and the photos and doubts from last night came rushing back into her mind. "Mr. Tucker, no offense, but my relationship with Aren hasn't been made public. How did you find out about it?" Milo w
