**Benedict's POV**

I came back from the office with a headache that had nothing to do with work.

Sam had called three times. Each message shorter than the last. I didn't answer. I already knew what he wanted-another pointless conversation about the branch project, another reminder that Father expected us to "present a united front." I had nothing left to say to him. He knew I was useless in that house. So why keep summoning me?

Father would take his side? Mom would kiss his wounds so what was m

The driver stopped under the glass overhang of the TKD building at 8:41.I stepped out with my bag and the first-day feeling I had not wanted to have. The lobby was all pale stone and quiet motion. At the security desk I started to explain myself and was already being waved through before I could say a word. An access card waited with my name printed cleanly on it. Benedict Alexandrescu had announced my arrival. The officer said it the way people said facts that had come from high enough not to be questioned.I knew I shouldn't think much about it. About how I was just let in here while I was sent out for my husband's company. The upper floor was worse.People stood when I passed. A project coordinator introduced herself too quickly. Someone from the collaboration team called me Mrs. Alexandrescu with a respect that felt borrowed from Ben's authority rather than anything I had earned inside these walls. My office was at the end of a short corridor - real windows, a desk that had bee

The bags looked ordinary on the bedroom floor. As if it wasn't my direct and big "Fuck you, Husband." To Sam's face.Would it be weird if I say I anticipated his anger? Sincerely, the thought of him raging about my outfit after what he did at our honeymoon island-Tied me up. I want to go one on with him. *Whatever* I took the new clothes out one by one and hung them in the closet Sam had emptied. The replacements he had chosen still occupied half the rail. I pushed them aside and filled the gaps with things I had picked myself. Coats. Day dresses. A sweater that had nothing to do with his taste. The recovery was incomplete, but the space looked less like a room someone else was preparing for another woman. As times goes on when I get new ideas for my closet, I will add more.I had just closed the closet door when Sam appeared. He leaned against the frame with the mild expression he used when he wanted the conversation to look reasonable."Since the collaboration is a family project,

Danielle's car stopped at the gates less than twenty minutes after the call. She did not bother with a polite entrance. She got out, took one look at my face, and pointed at the passenger door."Get in. We're not doing the long hallway conversation where someone pretends to water plants and listens."Sometimes she doesn't make a lick of sense but, I got in.For the first stretch of road she only drove. Then she glanced sideways."Talk.""Sam cleared out my closet," I said. "Most of it. Put other things in their place. Things I never chose."Danielle's hands tightened on the wheel.I wanted to tell her about Alena and how I felt they all matched her taste but telling her her brother had been cheating on me with my cousin would shake the table. Especially when I had already made up with her other brother."Of course he did." The anger in her voice was immediate and personal. "He can't stand anything in that house looking like it belongs to you without his permission. We're replacing all

**Katherine's POV**Morning felt different on my skin.I woke with the memory of Ben still mapped across my body - the weight of him, the way his voice had broken on *please*, the emptied look in his eyes when I told him I would not leave Sam yet. I swear I wanted to say yes I wanted to leave with him but that would not make sense. The guilt sat beside a colder clarity. I had chosen unfinished business over escape. That choice did not feel soft in daylight.Around Sam I moved with care. Not the old carefulness of someone trying not to provoke a mood. Something flatter. I answered when spoken to. I did not offer extra. When he watched me across the table I let him look and gave him nothing back. The performance had tightened into something thinner and harder to read.Deep down in my heart I knew I had sex with his brother not because he had been having an affair with my cousin. I wanted Ben, I couldn't quite place it yet but I love him.Do I? Do I really love him or I just love the wa

I did not sleep. I couldn't even get a silent head each time I close my eyes. Her face, her voice, her soft moans and gasps when I was inside her. Katherine was haunting me.The house was quiet in the way only late hours can manage. I sat on the edge of the bed with my phone in my hand and her voice still in my head. *Too soon. I'm not ready to leave him yet.* Every time I closed my eyes I saw her in my shirt, the one she had taken from this place, telling me to go before Sam came back.I typed messages I did not send.*I meant what I said.* *Talk to me.* *Don't do this. I beg you.*I deleted each one. The screen went dark. I turned it face down and stared at the wall until the dark thinned into morning.By then the emptiness had changed shape. It had become a light tension headache, Deep-seated doubt and the longing to hold 'My' Katherine again. It was still pain. It was also anger - at Sam, at the old pattern, at the fact that I had finally crossed every line I had drawn for mysel

  • Kiss Me Like No Other    Sam, Again?

**Benedict's POV**For a few seconds after, the only thing that existed was the weight of her against me.Her breath on my chest. The tremor still leaving her thighs. The fact that I was still inside the aftershock of her and she had let me stay. She had let me release inside of her.Maybe we didn't think about it.I held her tighter than I meant to. The CEO title, the branch, the public risk of what we had just done - all of it moved through my mind once and then became irrelevant. I would have burned the position for this. I would have burned more than that."I've got you, Viața mea. I love you." I said into her hair. The words came out rough. I said them again, quieter, as if repeating them could keep the room from changing."I can help you end it with him," I said quietly. "Divorce. I promise it will be fast. We don't have to stay inside this. We can leave."She moved. Not much at first. Just enough to create air between us. Then she sat up, drawing the sheet with her, and the lo
