My whole body was shaking from pain rippling through my bones, but I tried my best not to falter and fell to the ground. I kept looking at Austin, who was cheering and smiling at me despite the tears on his face.

I knew whatever fate held for us, I was lucky to be here—to be loved back by the man I had bared my whole soul to.

“You can do it, baby! Call your wolf out!”

“Aaaah!” I screamed my loudest, hoping it would drown out the pain, but it only intensified. I raised my head to the heavens, praying for my wolf to finally surface while telling Selene to forgive me if I chose to defy her fate because there was no way I would be letting go of Austin.

The clouds moved, paving the way for the moon to shine brightly in the night sky, beaming its light over the canopy of the trees above me, and just when I thought it was already the answer to my words, the Goddess surprised me more.

An intoxicating scent of leather mixed with the fresh and minty scent of mahogany trees swirle
