“Elisa!” I yelled, sprinting over as she laid motionless covered in blood. My mind reeled in horror, stunned at her current state. I pulled her into my arms, gently cupping her cheeks as I tried to shake her awake but to my dismay, she wasn't responding. “Elisa, please open your eyes. Wake up and say something, your silence is scaring me. What happened? Who did this to you?”. Unfortunately my desperate search for an answer, proved vain as Elisa still wasn't responding. It was only after a few moments of steadily observing her that I noticed she wasn't breathing at all, her chest laid completely still, not even the slightest bit of motion in sight. Panic enveloped me as I placed my head on her chest, hoping to hear a heartbeat but it was just as I had suspected, she didn't even have a pulse. My body froze at the horrid realization of Elisa's murder. Denial clouded my mind as I picked her up, carrying her lifeless body in my arms as I sprinted out of the estate, gently placing her in my car as I sped straight to the nearest hospital, refusing to give up so easily. The moment we arrived at the hospital, the doctors took her into surgery in an attempt to revive her. I waited for hours without receiving any news on her condition. Just as my Paranoia reached an all time high, the rest of my family members arrived. Great grandma immediately rushed to my side, squeezing my hand tightly as she offered silent comfort. Father took a seat with obvious displeasure as his tired gaze turned to great grandma. “I can't believe you chose to waste my precious time by forcing me to come here, but at least I'll get to watch it first hand as that bratty little girl finally gets what she deserves. She's been nothing but a torn in our sides since she came, it'd be best if she just fell into a coma for a little while but we can't afford for her to die so soon, our plans haven't been fully executed yet…”. “NICHOLAS!!!” Great grandma called out, interrupting his banter as she harshly spoke. “The poor girl was assassinated under your roof and is currently fighting for her life, yet you still have the guts to openly speak such nonsense. Don't you feel even the slightest bit of shame for your actions?” she scolded, her face twisting in disappointment as she glared at father. Their exchanges with each other continued but I was too focused on uncle to worry about mediating their argument. His calm demeanor despite the chaos unfolding opened my eyes to the realization of his possible involvement with Elisa's assassination. “It was you, wasn't it?” I accused, my voice tainted with emotions as it cut through the air, my accusation silencing the room as the air felt heavy. “I know it's you, you're the one responsible for her current condition, after all it wouldn't be the first time you've been openly aggressive towards Elisa”. He chuckled mockingly upon hearing my words. “Do you have any evidence that proves I was responsible?” He questioned, leaving me completely speechless with his annoyingly calm demeanor. “why so quiet? Don't you have any proof? If not, please refrain from throwing around baseless accusations”. His words only fueled my anger as I walked up to him in a fit of rage. “Bastard!!!” I yelled, landing a firm punch square on his face. He seemed barely fazed by my attack as he slowly rose to his feet, his eyes emitting murderous intent as he met my gaze. “Weak” he mocked before kicking me right in the chest, sending me crashing to the ground with a sickening thud. “Damian!” Great grandma cried out, her voice dripping in concern as she rushed to help me up. “Leonard, Have you lost your mind?!!! Hitting your nephew with such brute force, what if he got seriously injured?...” Father's laughter erupted, cutting through the air as he interrupted great grandma's scolding. “If he didn't want to get hurt then he shouldn't have thrown the first punch. You can kill each other for all I care, but first we have to deal with the current matter at hand and ensure that bastard Eliot doesn't find out about this, or else our plan will be ruined if he decides to take his precious daughter with him, we'll lose our leverage”. “How can we have leverage when she isn't even breathing?” I voiced out, cutting my father's banter short. “What did you say?” A familiar voice rang out, bringing the hospital corridor to pin drop silence as he made an entry with his men fully armed, marching in the hundreds as they completely seized control of the private floor we were on. “What happened to my daughter?” He questioned, fists clenched as he barely restrained his anger. Understanding the fact that we were completely surrounded, father took the initiative to smooth things over. “Eliot” he called out, trying his hardest to sound aggrieved. “Why don't you sit down with the rest of us and remain calm while the doctors finish up Elisa's surgery. There's no need to worry yourself, after all it was only a minor accident, she'll be fine.” Father coaxed, trying to deceive Elisa's father into believing her condition wasn't as life threatening as he thought. But just as her father began to believe his lies and was about to ask his men to stand down, a nurse exited the operation room looking panicked. “Is anyone here a direct family member of the patient?”. Elisa's father immediately shot up from his seat, informing the nurse of his presence. “I'm her father, is everything okay? How is she doing?”. The nurse lowered her head in sympathy. “Although we finally managed to resuscitate her, her condition seems to only be worsening as majority of the injuries inflicted were all in fatal spots and her immense blood loss isn't making things any better, considering the fact that her blood type is incredibly rare and we haven't been able to find a donor, but it's good that you've arrived, since you're her father you're most likely to share the same blood type as she does. Please come with me so we can proceed with the donation.” Eliot glared hatefully at the rest of us as he loudly announced “Elisa inherited her mother's rare blood type not mine, I'm not a match.” His voice cracked up with emotions as he was left unable to help his daughter the one time when it really matters. Before the rest of us could even process the situation, the lights of the operating room turned red, falling into chaos as their heartbreaking words could be heard from outside. “She flatlined, We're losing her”.

Elisa's father fell back into his seat, a strange calm emitting from him as he spoke his final words. “Kill them” he ordered, his mind seemingly made up. And just like that, we were surrounded in seconds, multiple guns pointed at each of our heads, our men already restrained far behind us. “Eliot, you're going against our agreement!!!” Father retorted, trying to maintain his composure. “Agreement?” Elisa's father repeated, mocking father's choice of words. “The marriage alliance was only accepted with the hopes that you'd care for my daughter and treat her as one of your own, but instead of fulfilling your end of the bargain, you allowed your family to mistreat her, reducing her to such a state. I can't believe I actually entrusted her life into the hands of her mother's killer thinking we could bring an end to the disputes between our families and leave the past where it belongs but it seems you weren't truly in search of a reconciliation”. Father greeted his teeth in anger, looking

CHAPTER 12“Excuse me?” I retorted, barely restraining my anger as I tried my hardest not to retaliate her slap in fear of escalating the situation. “Have you no shame? Getting entangled with master Leonard whilst you're currently engaged to be married in only a month to sir Damian.” She spat, angry tears streaming down her face as she lunged at me, yanking me by the hair. “Master Leonard was mine, what gave you the right to take him away from me?!!! Weren't you already satisfied with Damian's looks and affection? Why choose to covet what belongs to others just for your own amusement?” She yelled, her voice rising with each passing second. “Is it because you're prettier than me, that you think you can take what's rightfully mine? Answer me!!!?” She went on, demanding a response but still refusing to let me speak. “Or is it because you're from a well off family that you think you're better than the rest of us and the world should cater the finest things only to you?” … “Fine” she conti

CHAPTER 11Feeling helpless at the thought of no other way out of the situation, I decided to take the initiative to lead it further as I boldly walked over and sat on his lap, my hand playfully teasing the bulge in his pants. I threw my arms around him, leaning in closer for a kiss but was met with rejection as he rose to his feet, tightly choking me by the neck, dragging me all the way to the door before finally releasing his grip. “What're you doing?” I questioned, as Leonard had me helplessly pinned against the door, ludged between his imposing figure and the only barrier keeping Damian from discovering our affair. He didn't even bother answering my question as he reached underneath the large shirt I was wearing, ripping my underwear right off as he picked me up, forcefully placing my arms around his neck, my legs instinctively wrapping around his waist in fear of falling. My chest pressed against his face as he held me up with just one hand, undoing his zipper with the other as h

“Finding out what?” Damian turned to me, genuinely concerned as he asked. “Elisa what is he talking about?”. I considered telling Damian everything first but my curiosity outweighed my fear as I accepted Leonard's invitation. “I'll go with you” I responded, my voice filled with uncertainty. “Good girl” Leonard mocked as he headed for the door, holding it open, gesturing for me to go on ahead and I obliged. Just as I was about taking Leonard's extended hand, Damian grabbed my arm, demanding an explanation. “What's going on? Why are you going along with him? Don't you understand how dangerous he is? Why are you getting involved with him?”. I hesitated, unsure of what to say as he stared at me expectantly. Before I could even respond, Leonard interrupted, picking me up and throwing me over his shoulder. “Feel free to continue your interrogation when I'm done with her, as we're both currently occupied” and with that he walked away, dangling me over his shoulder as his moved calmly, forcin

CHAPTER 9(Elisa's POV) My eyes were heavy, my knees quivering beneath me, threatening to give out as I struggled to withstand the final hours of my punishment. Just as I felt my vision blurring from the strain I was forced to endure and the immense hunger I was plagued with, the timer finally went off, signaling the conclusion of my punishment. My gaze landed on the clock delicately placed in the hall, it was already midnight. I struggled to help myself up but it proved difficult as my legs had long gone numb. The head maid and the rest of the staff just walked past me as their job had already been completed. Feeling helpless and incredibly dizzy, I laid softly on the ground as I patiently waited for my legs to regain functionality. Plagued by my exhaustion, I drifted off to sleep, awoken only a few hours later by the throbbing headache inflicted by my head injury.“Does it hurt?” A familiar voice questioned. As I looked up to see who it was, I was met with the worried gaze of Damia
