CHAPTER 9 – FREAKING PROBLEMS

"Starr, I should cut your hand and make it into a frame to paste in my room, you  held her hand" Bluey gushed. 

               Martin is still staring at Lotus, not listening to their conversation. 

"I dunno why, I'm not a fan of making contact with girls but....I couldn't help it, she's perfect" Starr smiled, returning his stare to Lotus. 

Bluey saw Martin staring too and tapped him. 

"Tripping helplessly already? See you distract me, but I'm distracted without you, I don't know how to focus baby teach me how to...." Bluey sang and Martin hit him. 

"Stop making me wanna hit you" he smiled. 

"But she's hard not to look at seriously, she's a distraction for all the guys in here swears, including me," Bluey said. 

"Ok attention" Miss Stacy said and they all went silent. 

"Each department, please flip over to your pages' ' she addressed. 

"Page 59" Constance whispered to Lotus and she opened too. 

"We only need a lead pianist and every singer must sing, one after the other," Miss Stacy said. 

"Rhythm you're playing the piano, then Constance you're singing first". 

They both came out and Rhythm played the piano beautifully. 

Constance: Reflect like diamonds!!! 

Shine bright like the stars!!! 

You're the light! The light...the light!!! 

You are the sun! The sun! The sun!!! Shine!!!

Don't give up... keep shining!!!!

Everyone clapped when she finished singing and went back to her seat. 

Ophelia came next and sang her tiny high pitch as usual, receiving the loudest claps. 

"Lotus, why don't you come next?" Miss Stacy said and she looked at the note before standing. 

"Let's see if her voice really matches her face" Ophelia smiled as Lotus walked out. 

She placed her book in the right place and cleared her throat. 

Rhythm played for her and she started singing. 

Reflect like diamonds!!!

She hasn't started raising when she started coughing. 

Ophelia was the first to laugh loudly. 

"I knew it!!! You know nothing about singing right?Then what are you doing here" she mocked. 

"Ophelia" Miss Stacy cautioned and she rolled eyes before keeping quiet. 

"Lotus, it seems your voice lacks energy, have you eaten this morning?" Miss Stacy asked. 

"Yes" 

"Then why? Ok take rest you need a lot of practice" 

"Ok" Lotus replied casually and went back to her seat. 

Everyone else sang well then the violinists practiced too. 

The remaining departments followed and they spent close to two hours before it ended. 

"I can't wait to get my hands on something delicious, I'm starving!" Bluey said immediately. 

"Let's go eat together at the cafeteria," Constance offered. 

"I'm not hungry," Lotus replied. 

"Come on, don't be boring!" Constance insisted, pulling her up. 

Ophelia came over and pushed her, Lotus fell on the chair. 

"Ophelia has started again, what she is after" Starr said. 

"Why don't you just leave already? You cannot even sing a line, how funny" Ophelia laughed. 

"Yes, you should really leave," Lilac added. 

"I was thinking I'm worse, now I've seen someone I'm better than" Floyd laughed. 

"Is she a weakling?" Yolanda wondered. 

"I hate what Ophelia is doing right now, how can she bully that pretty girl" Rhythm said. 

"Look Ophelia, this is not the right time to show how stupid you are so leave" Constance said and pulled Lotus up again. 

Ophelia tried pushing Lotus once again but Lotus held her hand tightly. 

She looked her in the eye and Ophelia got scared. 

Not like she wants to be scared but the look she's giving her is making her get scared without planning to. 

"Cleo's descendant, I hate people like you" Lotus said and pushed her to the chair instead. 

"Lotus I love you!!!" Bluey screamed. 

"I like her," Alec said from the cellist’s chair. 

"Same here" Colton replied beside him. 

They're both best friends too. 

"The type of girl I want as a friend" Yolanda smiled. 

"Don't come near me anymore" Lotus said and Ophelia almost entered the chair. 

Floyd and Lilac shifted back as Lotus left the class with Constance. 

"To the cafeteria," Martin said, leading the way out of the class. 

"You're so cool!" Constance said, touching Lotus's hair again as she walked to the cafeteria with her. 

"What are we eating?" She asked. 

"Have you tried fried fish on rice before? With a mix of veggies?" Constance asked. 

"Fish? Humans eat fish?" Lotus asked shockingly. 

"Well...yes, why? Aren't you a human too?" 

"No...I mean...I don't want to eat fish, I don't like it," Lotus replied. 

"Hey girls!" Yolanda appeared. 

"Crazy Yolanda" Constance smiled. 

"I can tag along right?" She asked. 

"Of course, please do, Lotus meet Yolanda, best female violinist," Constance introduced. 

"You don't look like us," Lotus said. 

"I'm an American," Yolanda smiled. 

"Oh" 

"And what are you all talking about without me?" Rhythm said, appearing too. 

"Gosh" Yolanda said. 

"This time I'm not following you, I came for this cutie. Hi, my name is Rhythm, best female pianist" she waved. 

"Hi," Lotus smiled. 

"Look I might just steal your hair away" Rhythm said, touching her hair as they continued walking to the cafeteria. 

"Humans don't keep long hair?" Lotus asked. 

"Humans? Aren't you a human?" Yolanda asked confusedly. 

"I mean.... 

"She just loves talking that way," Constance replied. 

"Oh humans keep long hair but it's rare to see a long silky dark smooth soft one like yours, it's perfect like your skin and face, gosh! I want to kidnap you!" Rhythm said and Lotus smiled. 

Goddess Rivera was right about making more friends…they're flocking around her, admiring her. 

She loves it though at least it won't be boring here. 

She looked around for any sign of Starr but couldn't find him till they entered the cafeteria. 

"Our cutie doesn't like fish so... 

"Noodles," Lotus interrupted. 

"Noodles?" Yolanda asked. 

"Yes" Lotus replied and they all went for noodles. 

"So...why didn't you sing well the other time?" Rhythm asked. 

"I dunno too," she replied, eating fast. 

She finished the noodles within three minutes and Constance got another one. 

She finished that and went for the third one. 

They all stared at her as she ate with great appetite. 

"Wow" Constance said, holding her hair which kept falling into her plate.
