CHAPTER 4
Fresh from the shower, Adrastos took a call from the lobby informing him that his wife had arrived in the building. He was quite surprised and impressed almost. Electa was half an hour early.
‘Is this a deliberate ploy on her part to set me off or is she just running scared?’ he mused curiously as he rubbed his wet hair with a towel. ‘We’ll see…’
Adrastos didn’t think for a second that Electa had rushed over to his apartment because she was eager to see him. Only two things fired up his wife enough to make her expose any hint of weakness like this: her brother and money. He left out a third thing… which was him…

Electa sucked in a breath, not wanting to think of him like that anymore. Not wanting to recall anything intimate about their time spent here together or the fact that there were times when they’d actually lived here in peace. Like a man hewn from stone, Adrastos showed no reaction whatsoever to her quivering climb-down.“He is a thief, Electa!” he stated brutally. “Flynn stole your identity and committed credit card theft! And he did it with a complete disregard for the amount of money he was stealing from me. Electa knew those words… She already heard those words so many times when they were making love or when he just held her in his arms after a long hard day… She moaned with angry triumph, then went for the kill with a lethal precision he really should have been ready for. She sank her teeth into his full and pulsing sexy lower lip. With a grinding growl of reaction, Adrastos bent her into such an acute arch that she cried out. Electa felt suddenly as if she was suffocating. A sizzle of self-awareness imprisoned her breath. Adrastos was looking at what she was wearing, his too-dark eyes coming alive with a glow which highlighted their true rich brown color as he swept them down over her black mini-skirt with green patterns teamed with a flimsy black chiffon top. The tension began to throb between them as Adrastos followed the way the skirt clung to her tiny waist and fell in soft gathers three-quarters of the way up her lengthy thighs. Without the matt black tights, the skirt would be indecent. With the tights what that tiny skirt did for the length of her legs was nothing short of sensational. “Do you need me to spell it out to you before you recognize what’s going on here, Electa?” Adrastos rasped. “The rings don’t matter. But the credit card he took matters! If we let Flynn get away with what he has done, what do you think he’s going to take next? “I’m coming to bed, ‘zoi mou’, Adrastos murmured impassively.” (n/a - Here means ‘sweetheart’, ‘honey’, ‘darling’ but usually means ‘my life’) Electa clutched the duvet all the tighter.“Are you joking? Not in this bed! And not with me, you’re not!” His response was to cast the robe aside with the casual grace of silent intent. He was wearing nothing beneath it, not a single solitary stitch, and was so absolutely carelessly at home with his naked beauty he just stood there and let her look her fill. Electa’s mouth dried up. The helpless need to reacquaint herself with every familiar contour sent her eyes drinking in every glossy square inch.

Electa’s eyes were almost closed. She was trying so hard not to let his huskily delivered taunts spark a response from her. But her body was not playing. Her body was stirring up every sense she possessed. As if he knew it, Adrastos shifted on her slightly, and the tips of her breasts stung as they sprang into tight, tingling pinpricks of feeling against the tautly stretched duvet.
