Nightmares

Allison’s POV

“Allison!” I heard my name faintly called as I struggled for my dear life. I opened my eyes to see Theo sweating and looking down at me. I was hyperventilating and sweating profusely too. I realized I had my hands on my neck and Theo’s hand was behind my head. It was a dream, I thought with relief. I thought he had me. I thought he had succeeded in finding me.

"I won't let him touch you, I swear," Theo said looking straight into my eyes.

“How did you…” I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion.

“You kept begging him not to hurt you in your sleep. I tried waking you several times, but you kept holding your neck like someone was strangling you." He heaved a sigh. "I'm sorry you had to go through all that." He said brushing my jawline with his thumb. I looked at him and felt something wet touching my cheek. It was my tears. He hugged me to his bare chest, patting my head lightly. We stayed like that for a while, with him consoling me and me crying my heart out.
