CHAPTER 3

Now that Marcus was faced with his nuclear option, he started to realize just how much he had taken Angelique for granted.

The blonde nightmare before him had been pacing around the apartment like a crazy person for a while now. Surprisingly she hadn't taken the news of their upcoming nuptials well.

As soon as Marcus had been introduced to the bombshell that is Diana St Germaine, he had immediately assessed her and realized she was nothing but a spoiled materialistic brat who enjoyed squandering her father's fortune.

And since Marcus had so much more money than Philip St Germaine, he had assumed Diana would jump at the opportunity to marry him.

But no, she looked anything but thrilled by the idea of getting married to him. What was her game?

"Diana?" Philip said after a while. "Will you say something?" He asked his daughter who was unusually quiet.

"What is there to say except no, I'm not marrying someone I barely know!" She shouted. "And who plans a wedding in a few hours?"

Philip started to say something but Marcus cut him off. "Forgive your father for giving you the impression that you had an opinion." He said to Diana. "You are marrying me and today no less."

Diana turned to look at Marcus, her eyes full of an emotion she rarely felt, anger. "This is the guy you want me to marry?" She looked back at her father. "I thought you loved me."

Marcus started to laugh. "Trust me he does," he said through his chuckles. "With your annoying and unattractive bitchy attitude, I'm your best if not only chance at the altar."

"Okay that's enough!" Philip snapped at his client. "Talking to her like that won't get you anywhere."

Marcus rolled his eyes but backed off anyway.

Philip turned to his daughter. "Let's talk about this." He said as he grabbed her arm.

"There's nothing to talk about." Diana tried to protest but her father was already dragging her away from Marcus, no doubt so they could 'talk' in private.

"I'm not marrying him." Diana told her father firmly once they were away from earshot. "He doesn't even love me and most importantly I don't love him, so no, just forget."

"He may not love you but he was right about one thing."

Diana's brows furrowed. "And what's that?"

"You don't have a choice. No one is asking you to do anything, you are going to marry him."

Diana couldn't believe what she was hearing. Her own father was okay with this madness! "But dad...."

"But dad nothing!" Philip gripped his daughter's shoulders. "Do you want to keep living this lifestyle, this lifestyle where you go for endless shopping trips, dine in the fanciest of restaurants and go on expensive holiday trips? If the answer is yes then marrying him is your best option because I won't keep supporting you and your stupid acting degree will not either."

"But I'm your daughter and I'm only twenty one years old , you can't stop supporting me."

"Oh I can and I'm going to." Her father assured her. "As much as I love you, you are a lot of work and more expensive to maintain than your mother!"

Diana flinched at the mention of her mother, her father almost never talked about the woman who abandoned them.

"Do you want like to end up like her, jumping from one rich man to another? Do you?" He pressed harshly and Diana shook her head, looking away from her father. "Well then, Marcus Navarro is your best option. With him you will want for nothing."

"But I don't love him." Diana said quietly.

"And he doesn't love you!" Her father reminded. "You say you are an actress right, well this is a role of a lifetime. You will act like a loving wife in public, dotting over Marcus as if he's your whole world."

Diana didn't know what to say, she was completely speechless. The last thing she had expected today when she woke up was that she was going to get married, to Marcus Navarro much less.

But her father did raise good points and it's not like she had a choice. Plus if she was going to be forced to marry someone it could as well be Marcus Navarro. After all he was hot, sexy, famous and very rich. Who cared if he was a jerk. Not only would he take care of her but his name would open so many doors for her and make her a house hold name in the acting industry.

"Diana? Are you still listening?" Her father asked her, his voice filled with irritation.

Diana ignored him, she had nothing more to say to. Instead, she focused all her attention on Marcus Navarro, the man who in a few hours was going to be her husband.

"So," she said as she approached him. "Where's my diamond ring and the custom designer wedding dress?" She asked him, looking dead serious.

Marcus looked at her suspiciously, no doubt confused by her sudden change of attitude.

Oh well, if this was her only chance at a wedding, then she was going to get the full wedding experience and in her book that meant diamonds and a custom designer dress made just for her.
