First Kiss

Evelyn kept spending time with Blake, he makes her day, though her father and Luke don't like him they didn't give him a hard time. He also helps at home then after every work they would go to the bush to spend time together.

"So Hen and egg which came first," he asked

"Egg" Evelyn answered and he laughed, he was no longer thin but still not there yet. He is no longer afraid of not knowing what danger he would face and when he tried to think of his stay being temporary the beautiful smile of Evelyn makes him forget all his worries.

"It's hen" he answered. That's not possible cause its the egg that forms Hen, Evelyn thought

"It is a lie" she barked

"From creation, God didn't create egg but hen," he said and she couldn't deny that fact. He is right, she then pouted

"I noticed, the girls are not on good terms with you." She no longer cared about them, she now has my Blake.

"Who cares, I have you" she answered and he smiled. Evelyn won't deny the fact that her heart beats faster when she is around him. She goes to sleep every night with only the thought that she will see him tomorrow.

"Next month you will be 18 then we will be expecting your mate," he said and I felt sad. Before he came Evelyn eagerly waited for the day she would turn 18, but with him, she pray it never comes. She was afraid it will change things between them. She knew how possessive male wolves are, her mate would not want her to be with Blake.

"I have a feeling he will be an Alpha," he said happily

"What makes you think so?"

"You are the jewel of the pack, the most beautiful, surely, you deserve the best," he said. I deserve you, she thought to herself.

"You are so happy to send me away, but you don't even care about the arrival of your mate." Evelyn sadly said. He noticed her sadness and came closer to her

"I am not eager to send you away, I just want what's best for you." Though she understood his heart and good wishes for her she still couldn't help but be sad.

"Let's go home," Evelyn was no longer in the mood to play, he didn't argue and they both walked home in silence. It saddens Evelyn that she was mad at him, even when he did nothing wrong.

The next morning she woke up but didn't come out. She wasted a lot of time in her room trying to figure out her feelings. By the time she came out, it was already noon, she couldn't find Blake so she thought he left without her. She prepared something to eat and headed into the forest after that. She didn't find him there so she decided to go check the stream and there he was, standing beside the river. He was backing her but he felt her presence long before she saw him.

"I am not eager to send you away." He noticed me from miles away, I can never hide from him, Evelyn smiled at the thought. "If it is for me to decide, I will keep you 17 forever and spend it all with you," he said and it warmed her heart. She didn't know if he meant as a friend or more but still, it made her happy, the thought of forever with Blake wasn't a bad idea from her perspective.  He then turned towards her and her eyes widened

"What happened?" he had bruises,

"Let's say, the guys are not happy that I spend all day with their jewel," he shrugged and Evelyn rushed towards him "don't worry, though I am latent I heal pretty fast." She could already see the bruises going down but that didn't ease her already burning rage, she was so furious

"Who did it," Evelyn was determined to tear them apart.

"Don't make me a laughing stock by fighting my battles." Though he is latent he has the Alpha blood in him. Alphas are known for their pride and Blake always tried his best to hold on to his pride, at least that is the only thing that he has as an Alpha descendant.  Evelyn smiled and so did he, he then suggested they swim. They did and decided we go home when they got hungry. Since he arrived Evelyn couldn't help but smile whenever he was near. She feels goosebumps at his mere touch, not the type that irritates you but the type that makes you want to bask in the warmth. It hasn't been up to a month that Blake has been with them but they had grown so close that they could guess what each other is thinking just by looking at each other. Blake was happy he met Evelyn and more than ever he cursed his inabilities. This morning after working he was surrounded by a group of boys and it wasn't the first time but he hasn't spoken about it since he didn't want to be such a nuisance. When he was in Blood Moon pack he also experienced such bully so it wasn't a big deal to him and he always heals faster than the rest. He only showed it to Evelyn because he was overwhelmed with the thought of her no longer spending time with him once she find her mate. He knew whatever it was he was enjoying right now was only temporal and once Evelyn turns eighteen she would turn all her attention to her mate. Blake looked ahead and Evelyn was running in front of him giggling over something he said. He smiled and thought he would be satisfied as long as that smile on her face never disappears. Irrespective of who is making her smile, as long as she is smiling, Blake felt he would be happy.

"I shouldn't be greedy" he muttered only loud enough for him to hear.

"Slow Poke." Evelyn chuckled and Blake felt the Rogues around them, so he grabbed Evelyn and she stopped.

"Slow down," Blake said looking alarmed

"What?" He dragged her down

"Rogues," he said and Evelyn's heart started pounding. She had never experienced them though she often heard about them. She remembered how heightened Blake's sense was and thought he must have sensed them on time.

"I didn't sense them on time." Evelyn's eyes widened as her only hope was thrown out of the window. The reason why he was unable to sense them on time was that his mind was occupied. Because of his late reaction they have very little chance to escape the predicament "I want you to run this direction, go and get help, I will delay them a little."

"They might be friendly as you." He was a rogue too, but friendly.

"No they are not," he said with an Alpha tone. Evelyn was surprised and inclined, Blake felt bad for using such a voice. He never used that before "now run" he commanded. Evelyn was about to run off when he drew her back and planted his lips on hers. She froze as it sends chills down her body and she curled her toes "now go" he said when he broke the kiss. He nudge her before she regain herself and ran off.

Blake knew they were not getting out of this alive, the only thing he could do was repay the kindness she had shown him and sacrifice himself for her to escape. He knew that he would have died sooner than later, and he would have been alone in the forest. Meeting Evelyn was a miracle and now if he leaves this earth, he would be glad that he had at least one beautiful soul that would miss him and cry.  Evelyn was already halfway gone but his kiss was still on her mind. It was warm, she never planned her first kiss to be like this, in the middle of the forest surrounded by rogues. She remembered his face, he looked scared like the day she first met him. She stopped on her track as she realized, though the kiss was full of emotion it was also a goodbye kiss, he planned to delay them with his life.
