Chapter 480

Penulis: Light Breeze
It was deep into the night, with the snowfall persisting. The accumulating snow on the pathways deepened, sometimes revealing faint tire impressions from those returning home. The delicate snowflakes fell in no particular direction, scattered and gentle, looking the same wherever they landed—pure and pristine white.

In the middle of the night, Tina stirred awake. She sat upright, silently observing the snow falling beyond the window. She quietly crawled out of bed and walked to the floor-to-ceiling window, gazing at the ceaseless snow falling outside. She then stretched out her finger after a considerable amount of time and gently tapped the window. She still couldn't touch the snow, though.

She couldn't help but wonder if one of those snowflakes was Michael, returning to check in on her. It wasn't likely, though, as snowflakes were white, but Michael's hair had been utterly dark when he'd left the world. It was neither her father nor her mother.

Eleanor awoke to discover that Tina

  • Leaving You Bereft   Chapter 500

It was dim inside the car, but the busiest part of Brindley lay ahead. The bright lights flashed and streamed in through the windshield and windows, illuminating Sawyer's young and handsome face. It added depth to his good looks, making it hard for one to tell how he really felt.Maisie wasn't too happy to hear that he wanted to move out, but she didn't know why she was upset. She asked in a small voice, "Do you have to move out?"He made a soft sound of agreement before turning to look at her, his gaze unfathomable. "Have you ever kissed anyone?"She shook her head vigorously as a soft blush spread across her face. "N-No!"Sawyer unbuckled his seatbelt with a soft click. Then, he leaned close to her, his presence predatory and intense. He'd taken his coat off during supper earlier, so he only had a white shirt on. He'd even removed his tie. They were so close to each other that they could practically feel each other's lashes when blinking. Sawyer's voice was rough as he said, "I

Sawyer rubbed Maisie's head and looked into her eyes, asking, "Don't you know how to date someone?"She stammered again. "N-No. Not really."He chuckled and slowly removed his exquisite cuff links. He placed them on the side table before rubbing Maisie's head again. "What a coincidence. I don't really know what I'm doing, either."He didn't?Maisie didn't really understand what he meant, but she didn't dare ask. She wanted to slowly slip out of his embrace, but he pulled her back the moment she started moving. He rested his jaw on her head and said, "Let's have supper outside before heading home."She wanted to say she couldn't eat any more but didn't dare make a sound. They'd been as thick as thieves as children, but the older they grew, the more afraid of him she became. She didn't dare tell her her secrets, nor did she dare defy him.Sawyer spent most of his time abroad, but he was strict with her. Tina always acted as his middleman—he bought her over with limited-edition card

The current situation was a prime example to explain how Maisie felt. Sawyer got out of the car and circled to the front passenger seat, opening the door for her. When she got out, he said softly, "You didn't even give me a proper welcome after I got back, Maisie."Wait, were men into these things? She slowly approached him and hugged him. He immediately snaked an arm around her waist and pulled her closer, pressing her face against his toned chest while locking her in place with his free hand behind her head. He stroked her hair like he was stroking a dog and chuckled. "I've missed you, too."Too?Maisie protested in a small voice, "I didn't say I missed you."Sawyer smiled without saying anything. Not saying what they meant was a trait that ran in the Ziegler blood—Dexter was the same.Honestly, this was troubling. Maisie was too dense. At the same time, he felt it was good that she was slow to catch up. He could slowly teach her these things—they had plenty of time, anyway.T

Maisie blushed and hastily stuffed everything into her bag. "It's nothing."Sawyer didn't push her. He took her bag and held it for her, taking the opportunity to squeeze her slender arm. "Have you really been eating properly over the past two years, Maisie? Why are you so skinny?"She protested weakly, "I have! I'm not all skin and bones."He glanced at her, the look in his eyes hinting at something. However, she didn't notice. It had been two years since they'd last seen each other, so she missed him. There was barely any distance between them as they walked side by side. They were so close that he could smell her sweet scent again. He looked at her face and admired how delicate and flawless it was.Sawyer's gaze softened. He led Maisie to the parking lot and opened the back door of a black Rolls-Royce. He threw Maisie's bag inside before opening the front passenger door. "Get in."Maisie did as told. Sawyer naturally buckled her seatbelt as he'd done when she was younger. As h

Just then, footsteps came from behind Dexter. Then, Eleanor pressed her soft body to his back, entangling him with her hair. His heart raced, and he turned to her, saying, "I don't think I can handle another go, Eleanor. You really are voracious, you know. Or are you that desperate for me?"She knew what he was like—he loved running his mouth. She wouldn't hold it against him.She wrapped her arms around his neck and enjoyed this moment of intimacy. They would need to head home soon and reprise their roles as parents and elders. They couldn't even sleep in the same room.Eleanor threw her hair behind her back and leaned close to Dexter's ear, whispering, "How did you feel earlier?"She was asking a question that she already had the answer to. She knew how hard he'd toiled earlier. He chuckled. "What do you think?"She traced his lips with hers, saying saucily, "Well, I felt amazing."He pulled her onto his lap and kissed her passionately for a while. Then, he kissed her forehead

When Dexter and Eleanor were finally sated, he held her and said, "Eleanor, let's change Maisie's surname back to Ziegler."She'd been half-asleep, but she opened her eyes wide at his words. "Why? Is it what your parents want?"He smiled lazily. "My parents have long since gotten over something like this. It's what I want."She was surprised. Maisie was already over ten, and Dexter had never mentioned anything about this before. Why did he suddenly want Maisie to change her surname? Did he want an heir now that he was older? What he said next changed Eleanor's impression of him. She found that he had truly matured—he no longer insisted on coming out on top, as he had when he was younger. He said, "I'm perfectly fine with you not wanting to marry me, Eleanor. It won't change the fact that I'm yours for life—you'll have to take me, whether or not you want me."It's for the kids' good that we don't get married, and it's also for their good that Maisie is a Ziegler. Don't you think s
