The next morning was the most tense that both Lila and Levi had ever been. They were to find out who was going to take over the company, and everyone who was remotely involved with the Beaumont group had to come to the meeting that morning. Lila dressed up so much to cover the nervousness she felt. She was trying to act as if it was not getting to her, but none of that was working. Immediately, Levi heard the declaration by the moderator, and he became angry. He could not believe how low the Carrington family would stoop just to destroy him. It would have been better if they had given the shares to his uncle, but to bring an outsider to take over what his father had spent years building was just heartless. He could also not believe his uncle; he wondered how much Jared and the Carringtons had offered to make him agree to their terms without thinking.Levi became possessive instantly. Levi left the table as soon as he felt guilty. Why did he care what Lila did when she was divorced from him or what Beth said? It was not as if he was in love with her anyway. He could not shake off the feeling from his mind, but all of that disappeared as soon as he got a call from the office. He knew it must be important, seeing that they were calling before the start of the day.Lila had cleared out the table with Beth and then decided she was going to play with the kids; she was still running after them when she overheard Lebi's call. She told the kids to run off on their own to play while she stayed back to listen. Lila could not help but realise that for the first time, Levi actually turned her down. Even though all of the other times, he had never shown any real interest in going back to her. It was nice to finally hear him say it, and it made her feel happy. She just realised how stupid she must have been looking when she encouraged him to get back with her when his heart was not even in it. She wanted to get into her room and do a little dance of joy.As soon as Fiona was gone, Levi suggested that they leave the park, and Lila agreed at once. They bought some snacks for the kids before they went back to the house. Lila was not shocked to see that Beth was at the house when they got there. She knew that she was the one who sent Levi there, and sincerely, she was glad that she had decided to keep her sister in the loop with her plans. She would have been devastated to leave Levi but would have convinced herself that she was doing it to help him out and in the end she would have been miserable.Levi allowed both sisters to catch up on what happened and Beth was shocked that someone had really finally stood up to the great Eleanor Carrington. Even though Beth was afraid of what was going to come next, she did not mention it because she was not ready to give her sister a heart attack in that moment. She was still asking in the euphoria of love so she decided that it was best to let her enjoy it, at least for now."We can take the kids to the park and you can stay here with your feet up all day," Levi said.
