Sabrina's POV

Nicholas took a deep breath, trying to contain his emotions. "Hazel, it’s unfair to blame Sabrina. She just wants to help and support Charlie."

Hazel didn’t budge, her face still filled with anger. "You don’t understand! Every time she’s around, I feel like I’m losing control of my life. Charlie is my child, and I won’t let him be influenced by outsiders!"

I felt hurt hearing those words. "Hazel, I’m not an outsider. I care about Charlie and want what’s best for him. I don’t want to take anything from you," I said firmly.

Nicholas tried to mediate, "We all care about Charlie. Let’s talk about this calmly. We can find a way to work together for Charlie’s sake."

But Hazel seemed entrapped in her emotions, unwilling to listen. "I don’t want to hear it! You don’t know how hard it is to be a mother!" Her voice broke, revealing the depth of her pain.

I felt heavy, trying to stay calm even as the situation worsened. “Ha

Sabrina’s POV Charlie grinned widely, then sat down on the grass, still holding his drawing. He started doodling again, adding a large sun above the head of “Dad” in his picture. The sun was smiling.I sat beside him, letting time pass slowly. In this little yard, we waited. In a silence full of meaning, in hope without sound. Because even though the world outside was moving fast, we knew—we had to be a place to come home to. A quiet place, a patient one, that never stopped believing.I still don’t know how all of this will end. But I do know one thing—whatever happens, I’ll be right here. For Nicholas. For Charlie. And maybe… for Hazel too.Because sometimes, love isn’t about possession. It’s about choosing to stay… when the storm returns. The morning sky began to change. Sunlight hadn’t quite pierced the clouds yet, but the shadows of trees on the lawn were growing clearer. I sat on a wooden bench near the fence, while Charlie played with his toy car

Sabrina’s POV This morning was too quiet for such an important day. No news from outside, no incoming messages. Even the usually noisy social media groups seemed to be holding their breath. The world felt still, as if waiting for a bomb to go off.I looked out the window. Sunlight began piercing through the leaves, reflecting the shimmering sea onto the glass window. In the distance, the cries of seagulls echoed with the crashing waves hitting the rocks. Everything looked normal… too normal for a day that could change everything.Nicholas appeared a few minutes later, dressed in a white shirt and black trousers. His hair was still slightly damp, and his eyes were filled with resolve. “Morning,” he said, glancing at the table. “Morning,” I replied. “Eat first. I know you’re going to say you don’t have time, but you need to eat.” He gave a faint smile, pulled out a chair, and sat down. Charlie immediately greeted him with morning stories that fill

Sabrina’s POV Morning light had yet to fully filter through the window when I opened my eyes. The air was still cool, and the scent of the sea from the backyard garden drifted faintly in with the breeze slipping through the window I’d forgotten to close last night.I lay still for a moment, letting the silence wash over the clutter in my head left by a night full of worry.A thin fog hung across the ceiling, reflecting the pale light that slowly seeped in through the cream-colored curtains. The sound of waves crashing in the distance was the only reminder that the world outside still pulsed with its own rhythm. But inside this room, time seemed to have stopped. The warm blanket wrapped around my body was the only shield from the cold that pierced to the bone. But it wasn’t the chill in the air I felt most—it was the emptiness. A creeping kind of hollow, slow but certain. My eyes stared at the ceiling, blank, directionless. My thoughts wandered back to the n

Nicholas's POV When I arrived home, the guards were still on alert. They greeted me with a nod. I entered quietly, and a small voice welcomed me from inside the house.“Dad!”Charlie came running toward me and hugged me tightly. I smiled, bent down, and lifted his little body into my arms.“Have you eaten?” I asked.“Yup! Mom made egg rolls, they were so yummy!”I chuckled. “Wow! You’ll teach Dad how to make them tomorrow, okay?”Charlie nodded enthusiastically and ran back to the dining room. I turned toward the kitchen, where Sabrina was cleaning up the breakfast dishes.“How’s Hazel?” she asked without looking up.“Still in shock, but stable,” I said, walking over. “She’s fully conscious. Her injuries are serious, but she’s strong.”Sabrina put the cloth down on the table, then looked me straight in the eyes. “Did she… say anything about Charlie?”I nodded. “She said she misses him. But she’s afraid Charlie will hate her after finding

Nicholas's POV How many more victims before this all ends? And how far do I have to go to uncover the truth that’s been buried? Hazel was just one of many trapped in the web of lies. But from the look in her eyes earlier, I knew she would fight back. And that gave me a little peace.“If she talks, Nicholas,” Prasetya said in a low voice beside me, “we have to be ready. This isn’t just about a court case. This could take down some very powerful names.”I nodded, still staring out. “I know. But let it happen. It’s time they faced the consequences for everything they’ve ruined.”Prasetya didn’t respond. But I could feel the same heavy tension in him. He knew what was at stake. But he was still here. And that was enough to remind me—we weren’t alone in this fight.Prasetya patted my shoulder. “We’ll speed up the process. Adrian won’t get away.”I nodded. “Hazel deserves justice. This isn’t just about the past. It’s about Charlie’s future.”Bima nodded in agr

Nicholas's POV “I’m sorry, Hazel,” I said softly. “It took me too long to realize everything. I was too late.”Hazel closed her eyes briefly, then opened them again. “You… saved me, didn’t you? For that… thank you.”I lowered my head, gripping her cold hand. “You shouldn’t have been in a place like that.”Hazel glanced toward Bima and Prasetya, then back at me. “They said… Adrian’s been arrested?”I nodded. “We have enough evidence. Voice recordings, testimony from his men, transaction trails involving the murder orders—they all point to him. Including proof that he ordered the hit on me, and framed you.”Hazel’s face went blank for a moment. “So… all of this was really planned.”“You were used,” Bima said calmly. “Adrian exploited your anger to take down Nicholas. But he never cared about your life. To him, you were just a pawn.”Hazel closed her eyes, and a tear slowly slipped from the corner. I squeezed her fingers tighter, wanting her to know she
