The man in the doorway caught Amina's eye and she was staring straight away. She remembered him exactly as he was: tall, confident and his eyes sparkled with the sharpness that had haunted her dreams for years. And yet, he was alive. It's unattainable, but there was an indisputable answer. "You..." she began, her voice ringing with discomfort. He walked into the warehouse in full view, allowing the dim light to cast shadow over his face. "It's been a long time, Amina," he said, his voice almost gentle but still with lingering chills on her spine.

Adrian's hand encircled her. "Come on down," he warned, his voice firm and low. But Amina couldn't move. The frozen state of her body left her shivering in fear, confusion, disbelief, and the flickering of familiarity. The laughter they had shared, the secrets whispered in shadowe shaped their conversations, and the promises made that seemed like they were long-lost to this day. The arrival of her past was not a pleasant surprise.

He looked at the man with a grimy smile, almost mockingly. "I never thought I would see you in this place.". Adrian was nodded by him, "I love you.".... Amina swallowed deeply as she felt his gaze pierce her skin. Even though she was told not to, she remained curious and asked, "Why are you here?". Why now?” she demanded. The warehouse floor creaked as he slowly moved forward, knowing that certain debts cannot be forgotten forever.

Adrian's body tightened and his jaw clenched. He placed himself in close proximity to Amina, a silent guardian. "We're not the same people you were acquainted with,” Adrian said evenly, but his voice was more fragile than fearful. What could be happening on this planet? The man's chuckles were soft and could be heard echoing through the empty warehouse. "I know, I know," he said. There are some facts that are too profound to be concealed. You've been interfering in matters that you have no right to discover.

Amina's pulse quickened. Adrian's fingers were touched by her, resulting in a strange sense of safety. It was like the story is not always so real. Her realization was that she had come to trust in him for not only protection but also empathy. But the man from her youth now seemed to have all the power. Despite her lack of knowledge, he spoke with such force and conveyed that the game was still ongoing.

The man's question spanned from deep breath to confusion, as if looking down. "I don't think you can defend her," Adrian said with a dark expression. He continued: "Enough is enough." "You won'll have to go through me," he said softly.

The presence of a cold fear in Amina's mind was felt. Her gaze widened between the two men, one who had taken care of her and the other who returned from a past she believed was long lost. Her heart raced, caught between fear and the strange pull of old feelings. The warehouse seemed to be shrinking around them, leaving the darkness extending further and deeper into the sky.

The man's hand suddenly hit his coat, and Amina' browwidened. She recognized the glint—a weapon. The man spoke again, calmly, almost like a joke, even though Adrian had just stepped forward in front of her. "Don't worry.". I'm not here to kill. Not yet. I want to caution you and remind you that... please.

Adrian grew wide open, his body flexible and unwavering. Amina's stomach churned. She came to the realization that the threats she had faced were just surface issues.. It was a more insidious, personal threat.' Her journey had taken her into a web of secrets, lies, and past debts, each one pulling her deeper into the unknown.

He took a deliberate step back, his eyes fixed fixated on Amina. "It's important to remember this night because the decisions you make will determine who lives and who doesn't." With ease, he turned around and disappeared into the depths of the city, leaving behind only fragments from his footsteps.

Amina collapsed to the ground with her chest spinning. Her mind raced, trying to process everything from the past to the present as if they were dead in one piece. Adrian kneeled down beside her, brushing her hair back from her face. She had no idea what was next, but one certainty: the peace she'd hoped for disappeared.

From the rooftop above, a shadow watched as they emerged from the warehouse and entered the Nairobi night. An idea began to emerge within the shadow that would challenge Amina, Adrian and Daniel in ways they couldn't have predicted.
