Chapter 3

Author: Lilia Light
Tiffany's husband also clearly knew about her affairs with other men. He even turned a blind eye to it.

Theo was the third man she had found in over a year's time. He was also the only one who agreed to marry her.

"Have you figured out how much money this man has already?" Tiffany's husband asked.

"What money could he possibly have? He's flat broke! Don't even think about trying to get anything from me again. I've already paid you back everything I've owed you. We'll part ways for good in a few days' time!" she replied.

"No way!" the man declined outright. "You wouldn't have easily slept with him if he had no money. You even agreed to be his nanny. Do you think I'm stupid? Give me 300 thousand dollars! I'll agree to get a divorce with you if you give me 300 thousand. You can forget about it otherwise!"

It turned out that it was a dog-eat-dog case.

Taking advantage of the fact that Theo was out working late again, I returned home that very night.

I looked at Tiffany, who was pretending to be busy with cleaning, and casually asked, "By the way, do you have a boyfriend, Tiff?"

She chuckled and replied, "I don't. Why do you ask, Wendy?"

"There's a cocktail party at Venezia Hotel tonight, and I'd like you to come with me." I handed her the invitation and sighed. "It's kind of boring to go alone, and turning it down might upset an old friend. That's why I'm asking if you're free."

"I'm definitely free!" Tiffany immediately wiped her hands and took the invitation, unable to hide her excitement.

Venezia Hotel wasn't a place anyone could just go to. The people there were either rich or important. It was the perfect location to reel in wealthy husbands.

"But I don't have a suitable gown for the occasion, Wendy," Tiffany anxiously said.

"I have a few. We are of similar heights, so you should be able to wear my clothes," I immediately replied, offering her the chance to get anything of her liking from my closet.

In reality, she'd already tried on every piece of clothing I had.

Tiffany was overjoyed. She immediately nodded and said, "Thank you, Wendy!"

I smiled softly and said nothing. It was too early for her to be thanking me now.

That evening, I brought Tiffany along to Venezia Hotel as planned.

My best friend, Myra Lancelot, was the one who offered me the invitation.

The publication happened to be hosting a small internal cocktail party there as well. They invited VIP clients and some business partners.

It wasn't exactly high-end, but it was more than enough to impress Tiffany.

Myra dragged me to meet the big shots in the circle. After having a few drinks, I found a quiet spot to sober up.

I immediately spotted Tiffany weaving through the crowd, throwing flirtatious glances at the wealthy men in her sight. As expected, it didn't take long for a man to approach her.

Myra walked over and told me that the man was a notorious playboy in the industry. He would go after any woman as long as they were willing prey.

He was a wealthy scion, but he was cut off from financial support due to his reckless lifestyle. He was secretly relying on women to support him and was a master at toying with women's emotions.

I took out my phone and quietly took many intimate photos of Tiffany and the man.

I initially thought that she would leave with the man and I would be able to gather more evidence. I wasn't expecting her to play hard to get. She left him hanging after intensely flirting with him.

I finally found out how she had seduced Theo.

I snapped a selfie, deliberately capturing Tiffany and a man with their arms around each other in the background. I then sent the photo to Theo with a text that read, "Guess where I am, darling?"

A bitch and a bastard—what a perfect pair! This was my first time encountering someone this shameless.Theo stared at the bank transaction history on the table. He seemed determined when he looked up and said, "This is all my fault. Feel free to name any demands you have, I'll do what I can to make it up to you."What made him think that I wanted him to make it up for me?"I want custody of our two children." I continued, "And also the 800 thousand dollars in your account. I won't keep them for myself. I'll put it aside as the children's education fund. I don't want anything else."What I wanted was for the cheating couple to experience public humiliation every day in their lives.Theo hesitated before agreeing, "Alright. I'll give them to you."Tiffany was about to speak up but was stopped.Although Theo was a bastard, he was at least willing to provide for our children. But my heart ached to see that he didn't even make a token effort to fight for our children's custody. It ma

"Let's go house viewing after we're done eating," I suggested just as the dishes were served. "It's better to lock it down early with how the market's changing daily. Besides, we could also get our parents' opinions since they're here." Theo stayed silent while he ate, looking extremely worn out. "Let's hold off on the house for now.""Why?" I looked at him in shock. Confused, I said, "We can't keep staying in the hotel. It's just too expensive. It costs several hundred dollars just for a night! Besides, the summer break is coming up. Where would the kids stay then?"My mother-in-law, Lilian Anderson, immediately looked concerned when she heard about the hotel costs. Everyone turned to look at Theo."I have other needs for the money." He frowned, discreetly casting me a knowing look. "My company offered me some stocks at a discounted price, so I'm planning to use the money to buy in."My parents-in-law were from the countryside, so they naturally couldn't understand these things.

Tiffany gave me a call early the next morning.I felt troubled and silenced my phone, refusing to take her call. She then sent me a text: "Have you watched today's news, Wendy? The stock market crashed, and the stock we bought has hit its lowest limit. The company's CEO announced bankruptcy, and the company was delisted overnight! What should I do? Those were all my savings! Please help me figure something out, Wendy!"I chuckled coldly while reading her texts.Tiffany called me several times again in the afternoon. I didn't take any of her calls. She ended up texting me again: "I'm finished, Wendy! I'm really in trouble now! I got scammed! That scion you introduced me to is a fraud. All his designer clothes were rented, and now he's run off with all my money! What's going on, Wendy? Please pick up my calls!"I still refused to take her calls.Myra did have a sneaking suspicion that the scion might run off soon. She mentioned how the Dogecoin market was soaring, but it would soo

Tiffany exclaimed, "I didn't force you to gamble your money away! You can't blame me when you're the one who did this to yourself!"She was losing it. "Anyway, I've recorded our conversation. If you're still keen on getting jail time, just spread my photos then! But there's no way you're getting 500 thousand dollars from me!"I heard the sound of glass shattering from the next room, followed by Tiffany's scream.I was worried that something might have happened, so I quickly pulled out my phone to start recording while I checked on them. However, before I could fully open the door and take a step out, Tiffany rushed past me, running for her life.It was eerily quiet next door. My heart skipped a beat as I walked over while my phone was still recording. I then saw a man lying in a pool of blood, unconscious.…It seemed that Tiffany had been staying at her home the past few days to avoid getting caught, even skipping meetings with the scion. As it was a holiday, Theo ended up p

  • Lingering Hatred   Chapter 6

Tiffany's husband demanded a 300-thousand-dollar breakup fee right off the bat. The scion was only trying to squeeze money out of her. Theo was the only one acting like a fool, handing out money left and right.Indeed, men can't be compared to each other. Theo looked like a genuine idiot if you compared the three of them together.I couldn't believe how blind I was back then to have fallen for such a foolish man.To be fair, Tiffany's tactics were pretty clever. She continued to sleep with her husband while trying to haggle to reduce the breakup fee to 150 thousand dollars. Meanwhile, she also slept with the scion, subtly fishing for information about his family's wealth.Unfortunately, both men weren't idiots. One only wanted to sleep with her for free, while the other kept bragging about his wealth, claiming to be the only heir of a wealthy family. The scion claimed that he was just out here trying to test his own abilities, eventually returning to inherit his family business.

It was already late night by the time we returned from the cocktail party. After washing up, I noticed from under Tiffany's door that her lights were still on. I instantly knew that she had fallen for my trap.I had only mentioned to her that credit loans were trending online recently. The money would arrive quickly, but it was also extremely risky. The loans from each bank were based on a person's credit and repayment ability. Considering Tiffany's unstable income, she probably couldn't borrow much from any banks. So, I told her to try out other financial products besides traditional bank loans. Services like Venmo's Pay Later and PayPal Credit did not require a complicated approval process to get money straight into her account. There wouldn't be any problems if she repaid her balance before the due date.Tiffany clapped her hand excitedly, wondering why she didn't think of that before.…Being a light sleeper, I woke to footsteps outside as dawn broke.I even heard Tiffany'

Theo came to hug me after I was done washing up at night. He kissed my earlobe and asked, "Don't you think it's been a while since we've been intimate, honey?"I pushed him away subconsciously before turning over to mess with the fridge. "Not lately. The doctor said I have pelvic fluid buildup and

This time, Theo's reply came instantly. His message read, "Where's this?""It's Venezia Hotel." I sent him a voice message to explain, "Do you still remember Myra, my friend from university? We hadn't seen each other for a long time, so we met today. When are you coming back?""Tomorrow!" Theo's t
