Louisa's POV
When I woke up in the morning, Finn had already left. I rubbed my eyes and saw Mana and Mata sleeping on the bed and snorting. As I was walking out of the tent, I saw Will and Alex running towards me. Will was wearing the cloak that I had made for him yesterday, whereas Alex was bare-chested. I could see some open claw marks and wounds on his back. Both of them looked very upset. "Louisa! You're awake!" Will hugged me and said. I held him in my arms and said, "Where have you been, Will?" "The stable! I wanted to check out Josephine's maid. But she's gone! There was a pool of blood on the floor and she was nowhere to be found!" Alex looked at me and said, "I'm sorry, Miss Louisa. I should have kept an eye on the maid last night. I remember clearly that I bolted the door and locked it up before I shifted into a wolf. But this morning, when I woke up in the haystack, the door of the stable was opened with theLouisa's POV I frowned. "Violent ecstasy? That's exactly what happened last night!" I exclaimed in a low voice. It seemed Josephine's maid took this potion and created chaos in the camp last night. But how did she do it and why? I thought to myself. "Good morning, Miss." "Shall we prepare some breakfast for you?" I turned back and saw Mana and Mta standing behind me. They looked so cute in their cloaks. I lowered down and hugged them. "Are you feeling better now?" I asked. "Yes. We took a bath and we'll wash the linen for you," Mana said. "You don't have to. But maybe you can make some toast and brew some tea. It's going to be a busy morning because lots of wounded soldiers will come here for treatment," I said. "OK," they said. Then they quickly started to prepare breakfast. I saw a very disoriented man wandering outside my tent. "Biri, is that you?" I asked. Biri was o
Louisa's POV "It's really good to have you here, Miss. We don't have any doctors in this camp." A soldier said when I was applying a tourniquet on his leg. "So what happens when you get injured?" I asked. The soldier looked very awkward and said, "Well, for minor injuries, we usually get self-medicated. If it's major, we'll be disqualified and sent away." "Sent away?" I frowned. The soldier immediately looked panicked and said, "Sorry, Miss. I shouldn't have mentioned this. I intend to talk a lot when I get nervous." I tightened the tourniquet and said, "OK, you're ready to go." He stood up and didn't immediately go away. "Miss... I didn't mean to cross you... You're very kind to us. You cooked for us and helped us..." he whispered. I looked at him and said, "Don't worry. I understand that you can't talk. You're ready to go now." The soldier still lingered around and didn't want to go away. He looked very
Louisa's POV Lucas stood in front of me, looking angry and confused. At the same time, I could tell that he was a bit intimidated, but he was reluctant to face it. I stepped forward and he stared at me as if he was giving me a warning. "Are you going to change into a human candle and burn me?" he asked. "No. I'm going to treat the wounds on your shoulders. They look really bad," I said. "You're not a doctor. If Lucian saw someone like you lurking in the city, practicing medicine without a license, he would throw you in jail." Lucas frowned and said. "I've been to jail," I said, helping him to take off his shirt. "You sound very bitter about your past," Lucas said. His perfect upper torso was fully exposed in front of me. It seemed that he had been even more muscular after last night's full moon. I could see the veins popping up underneath his skin. "What have you been eating? You look all jacked up." I said and
Louisa's POV I couldn't believe this was happening to me. Josephine was literally filing the first suit, trying to blame everything on me! And the most tricky thing was, I didn't even know how to defend myself. I knew exactly what happened behind Lucas' assassination, Gianna's kidnapping, and last night's chaos in camp. But I didn't have any proof! The traveling druid had already been killed by Lucas. He obviously couldn't tell the truth behind the assassination and kidnapping. Mana and Mata could speak up for me, but their voices couldn't be heard by anyone except me. Josephine's maid was supposed to be the witness and testify to Josephine's crime, but she was gone. My only hope was Akela, but who would believe a crazy redhead girl? Especially when she knew nothing but shopping and daydreaming. Then, Josephine blew the final strike. "The potion box! Check her potion box! She was cooking something for all the sol
Louisa's POV "They were in my fucking way!" Lucas shouted back. I totally lost my temper and shouted, "Why can't you have some sympathy for other people?! Mana and Mata were already injured, but they were still trying to help and protect me. Your soldiers were wounded. They could be recovered and work for you again as soon as their wounds were treated. They were very good at what they were doing! Instead of getting a doctor, you abandoned them in the mountains to let them rot and die like animals!" Lucas roared, "Why can't you act like a normal woman?! Just shut the fuck up and lick my balls like everyone else?! All you have to do is to stay in my bed like a fucking doll and do what you've been told!" Zackery held me up in his arms and said, "Listen, why don't we take this into the tent?" "I'm not going into the tent! I have to treat those soldiers!" I said. Zackery held me in his arms and said, "Jafar and Zabel will take care of them. Now
Louisa's POV "Yes, I am an asshole, I'm well aware of that. You don't have to keep reminding me. But ever since you came into my life, you've been ruining my life. You haven't done anything to please me except in bed! You keep asking me to love you, but do you really love me?! You've fucking made cloaks for those imbecile frogs and never has it ever comes to your mind that you can make something for me! You went into a fucking shop, flirting with my Beta, choosing fucking gifts for him, his wife, and his unborn baby, but you've never wanted to pick a gift for me! There's nothing but that fucking warlock in your mind and you two really fucking deserve each other!" I grabbed my hair and couldn't believe what I'd heard. "Is this all about some clothes and gifts?! I've killed people for you! I've sacrificed my life for you! You've killed my surrogate father in the most brutal way, I still end up having sex with you! I no longer expect to get your love in return an
Louisa's POV Lucas collapsed on a chair like a deflated balloon. His face was bleeding. His shoulders were severely burnt and he looked really painful and miserable. The sensible part of me told me that I should help him. But the trainwreck part in me told me that he should be suffering like this for the rest of his life. Eventually, I gave up my internal struggling and walked towards Lucas. He looked up at me with grievance and infliction in his eyes. Then, he lowered his head without saying anything. He looked so hopeless and vulnerable. I sighed silently and looked at Zackery, "Can I have a few minutes alone with him? I promise neither of us will get killed." Zackery shrugged and said, "Little girl, I can't believe that you're still going to forgive him." He turned back and wanted to walk off, but then he stopped and looked back at me, "You know what? Sometimes I think you two really deserve each other." Then, he wa
Louisa's POV When I treated almost all the wounded soldiers, I walked to the stable with Mana and Mata. I've sent all my personal guards away because I didn't want to get them involved in my runaway plan. A carriage was parked in front of the stable and I could see Akela sitting inside it. When she saw me from the window, she waved her hands at me. "Hey, it's you!" She exclaimed with happiness. "It's great to have you here! When I woke up this morning, I remembered that I had forgotten something, but then, I couldn't remember what I'd forgotten. Now that I see you, I finally remember it. I have an appointment with you today to pick up my wedding dress! It's such a shame that Lucas can't come with me. But I guess he can't give me any fashion advice. Do you know that the King is going to host our wedding? I want a wedding dress that makes everyone solemnly weep with tearful joy. Do you like lace? I love lace, I know. It's very uncomfortable, but I
