LOVE ACROSS THE DIVIDE;003

I followed Jane inside a building, and we took the stairs to the second floor where she led me to a brightly colored huge sitting room.

This does not look like a sitting room though, if my guess is right I'd bet that it is a meeting room for the pack. There were about ten white cushions arranged beautifully around the room, and a glass table. 

The moment I stepped into the room, the smell of Lycans hit my nose hard, and surprisingly it was not as bad as I thought it would be. Considering the way my dad described how horrible their stench was.

“Take a seat and wait for me here.” Jane instructed and went outside leaving me alone to explore the room.

This sitting room was very huge and beautiful, the yellow colors on the wall exuded warmth, a direct opposite of ours which was painted white with black furniture.

The roof was beautifully decorated with tiny lights. Whoever was in charge of this design did a very good job, to be honest.

A large frame over the fireplace drew my attention and I went closer to look at it. My breath caught, and even my wolf jumped in excitement.

“down girl”

It was a man, the most gorgeous man I have ever seen. He was in a black tuxedo, smiling at the camera and his piercing blue eyes seemed to look right through me, and his dark hair was styled in a way that framed his chiseled jawline. His smile was infectious and charming, and I could not help but feel drawn to his good looks.

“That’s our leader, Blake.” 

I almost jumped at Jane's voice behind me. I had been so distracted that I did not hear or sense her coming back.

She was wearing brown leather pants and white singlet, and her curly hair was styled in a messy doughnut with just a tiny strand hanging on her face.

“Sorry if I’m wandering. The picture drew my attention”

“Yeah, Blake has that effect on ladies. Sit down. The others should be back soon” She said with a frown and I nodded, sitting down on a nearby chair. 

I could feel my nerves racing at the thought of having to face lots of Lycans. Obviously not all of them would welcome and believe me as quickly as Jane did, but I guess it’s good I have her on my side.

“Thank you, Jane,” I whispered and she nodded, taking a seat beside me. 

She didn’t say a word to me, and I wondered what was wrong. Why was she mad at me, and why did she agree to help me, if she obviously did not want me here?

Before I could ask her however, I heard footsteps miles away and mumbling noises.

I guess we have company.

Few minutes later, the door burst open and I stood up immediately, preparing myself for the worst.

“What the hell is a damn wolf doing here?” A voice roared as a muscled blonde guy raced into the room. 

“Calm your nerves Jared” Jane snapped, stepping in front of me, and my heart warmed at the sign of protection. Some things they say never change.

“Are you out of your fucking mind Lora?” He roared, his eyes almost red, and fists clenching in tension.

Lora ignored him, as a few others came into the room glaring at Jane and I.

“What’s going on here?’ a lady questioned, walking into the room with an obvious sneer.

Jane groaned and threw her hands up.

“I don’t owe any of you an explanation,” Jane said, folding her arms.

“Yes, you do Jane. Why on earth would you let a wolf in here. Are you nuts?” The lady said her black eyes flashing with rage.

“Watch what you say to me Sarah, if you don’t want me tearing off your tongue and handing it to you”

The lady gasped, a little too dramatically. “How could you threaten me Jane? How dare you? Is that what she is doing? Trying to turn you against your family?’

Jane scoffed, “like I need help and conviction before going against you.”

“That is enough for both of you” A deep voice said, and I turned to the direction of the voice.

I hadn’t noticed this one come in, and he was staring at me curiously.

“I am sure Jane would never do anything intentionally to harm us or anyone else. She must have had her reason” The man said, moving closer to me, his brown eyes still on me.

“Thank you, Max, for being the only smart person here” Jane responded, not taking her eyes off the lady who was now giving me death glares.

Everyone else in the room did not say a word, but I can see from the tenseness in their body that they were all preparing for anything.

“Why don’t you speak for yourself, stranger?” The guy, Max said. “Who are you and what are you doing here?”

I released a long breath “My name is Lora. I came here because I really needed you guys help”

“Why on earth would we want to help you?” Jared snapped and closed his mouth, fuming, when Max turned to glare at him.

“Jared is right. What made you think we would want to help you and why come to us?”

“Trust me, I’ve asked myself the same question since my wolf suggested it. But here I am. Shanty insisted that I…….” I trailed off when I noticed a movement behind me, and I turned immediately to catch a man launching himself at me from behind. I caught him by the neck and pressed tightly.

“Attacking an unarmed lady from behind? And here I was thinking that Lycans were men of honor,” I said and released him when I noticed the others drawing closer to me.

“We have more honor than the lots of you backstabbers” The man said in between coughs, rubbing his neck.

“That was a little low Dylan” Jane scolded the man with a glare and he looked away sheepishly.

“I thought I perceived the scent of a wolf here’ Another voice said, coming inside the room with a cheerful smile.

“Well well well, a wolf and a beautiful one at that.” He said when he saw me.

This guy looked like he was in his early twenties, lean and with very dark eyes. His cheerful smile and childish smile were charming, but I could sense that there was a lot more to him than a mere charming face.

“This is not a time for you to play around Lock.” Sarah snapped and his smile vanished immediately as he turned to Sarah with a growl and baring his teeth.

My brows raised in amusement when I saw Sarah’s eyes widen in fear, as she took a few steps away from the guy.

Hell, I like this guy so much already.

“Right back at you sugar” He said turning back to me with that smile and I frowned, not realizing that I said that out loud.

“Now you and I, we have a very interesting future ahead of us my dearest Lora”

“How did you….”

“Ignore Lock” Jane said, smacking his head fondly. “He is the weird kid in the pack”

Lock chuckled and blew her a kiss, before turning back to me again.

“Now it's nice to meet you mon Cherie '' He said and took my hands in his, and stared into my eyes before placing a kiss on my hand. 

But the moment his lips touched mine, his whole eyes turned white and I drew hands back in shock. 

What just happened?

“uh oh,” Jared muttered and I saw Max grinning at me.

I turned my eyes back on Lock's face, his eyes were normal again and he was staring at me weirdly.

“What is going on?” I asked and his face broke into another smile.

“The thing my dear is that your life is about to take a very interesting turn. And the day is about to get really really interesting” He said and I frowned.

“What did you see Lock?” Jane asked and he shook his head, sitting down on a chair beside me.

“Patience ladies and gentlemen. You all will see what I mean in a few minutes. In the meantime, I strongly suggest no one touches her till the big dawg comes in, or else blood will flow” He said, and I started getting very nervous.

Everyone grew silent as they all sat down around the room still staring at me with pure hatred. 

“Come sit with me sweetheart, I want to get front seat when everything goes down,” Lock said, and I went to sit beside him.

“Can you tell me what’s going on?” I asked again.

“You will see soon enough” 

“What are you? A seer?”

He smiled, “Something like that.”

We all sat for the next few minutes, no idea what exactly we were waiting for.

After what seemed like a lifetime of awkward silence, I heard a low footstep outside the room.

Lock clapped his hands in glee with a grin.

“Let the show begin, in 5….4….3….2…. go”

The door flew open and a man walked into the room. The man in the picture. But hell, he looked way better in person.

As he walked into the room, my eyes were immediately drawn to his piercing blue gaze. His dark hair was styled in a way that made him look both rugged and sophisticated, and the aura in the room changed immediately with his presence. The smile on his face faded away when he saw me in the room. I could not help but feel a flutter in my chest as I took in his handsome features.

As he walked closer to me in powerful strides, eyes locked on my face, a scent hit me. It was not the Lycan smell that filled the room, but something different that smelled like ambrosia, and I felt a knot on my stomach.

Then Shanty purred, and moaned too.

“Mate!!!” I growled before I could stop myself and everyone in the room gasped apart from the Lycan who held my whole gaze.

I heard a clap beside me, “And that, ladies and gentlemen is the most interesting match of the century”

Then my mind slowly registered what just happened’

I just fucking found my destined mate. And worse, it’s a fucking Lycan!!!
