Ch. 17

Kiran was sleeping on the bed peacefully. He had all kinds of wires sticking out of him. I could hear the beeping of his heart rate on the monitor beside him. He's alive. The sound of his steady heartbeat was easing my own.

I felt a presence behind me at that moment, letting me know we weren't alone. I tensed and slowly positioned my body, ready to fight whoever it was. I turned slowly to see two familiar faces. I kept my body tense, but released my fists. It was Tate and the alpha. That explains how Kiran got here, but what exactly happened?

"I was beginning to wonder if you would show." Tate muttered. He looked tired and stressed. "Seems you were having fun while he was dying." He pointed to the mark I had Percy leave on my neck. Then he pointed at Percy. "And you brought him here? Damn, you're cold."
