Up At Midnight

It was past 7:00pm, when Samantha changed into her night wear and her socks. She climbed under the bed covers, and applauded herself, for her maturity, and her ability to put the demands of others before her own. She had accepted Kris because of Allen, because she was in trouble. Being abused by her ex, must have tugged at Samantha's heart and she couldn't send her away. That will be heartless, she thought.

Allen and Samantha had decided that he would sleep in the living room and she would take the bed. She didn't want them to live like couples, when they were not married yet. Her father would have had a fit, if he heard she was staying in Allen's house. She laid on the bed, and closed her eyes. She imagined herself in Allen's arms. She was having the same imaginations that Allen had. She was trying to put the imagination out of her mind, but her body has needs. Her body was making demand, but she was trying to put it away.

Samantha drifted off to sleep, pleased with herself.
