The blood-red dress is spread across the bed like a declaration of war.

There is no choice in the fabric that Luka deposits there with the precision of a surgeon preparing instruments. Thin crepe, a neckline that turns breathing into a spectacle, and an open back down to the base of the spine. It is impossible to wear a bra with that cut. It is impossible to hide anything.

“Put it on,” he says, without looking at me, adjusting the cuffs of his gray dress shirt as if preparing for a business meeting.

“No.”

Luka stops. His heterochromatic eyes — ice-blue and warm-brown — find me in the mirror. There is no irritation there. There is a calculation.

“Maeve,” his voice is clinical, almost bored. "You can put on the dress and have dinner with us like an adult woman. Or you can stay here, naked, while we dine without you and come back hungry for other things.”

Zion emerges from the bathroom with his hair still damp, drops of water sliding down his bronzed neck. His black eyes travel down my body, still covered only by the silk robe, in a slow and possessive assessment.

“The restaurant is public, princess,” he says, smiling with only one side of his mouth. “Lots of people. Lots of witnesses. You’re going to love the… freedom.”

His smile tells me exactly what his words do not say: "Public" means you can ask for help. And "public" also means I’ll remind you, in front of everyone, exactly who you belong to.

Elias doesn’t need to speak. He is seated in the leather armchair, dressed in black, elbows on his knees, watching me with that stone patience that unsettles me more than any threat. He doesn’t need to threaten. He is the threat.

I take the dress.

The reflection gives me back a woman I recognize and despise in equal measure. The red contrasts with my skin like fresh blood. The fabric has molded itself to my body as if it had been sewn directly onto me, revealing every curve that five years of running tried to conceal. The black lace gloves that reach to my elbows—naturally, Luka thought of everything—cover the marks on my wrists.

Zion stops behind me in the mirror, his fingers sliding through my hair with an intimacy that my body recognizes before my mind can protest.

“Perfect,” he murmurs.

“Shut up.”

He laughs, the sound vibrating against the back of my neck like a dark promise.

The main restaurant of the Noel Imperial was designed to make dangerous people feel civilized. A crystal ceiling letting in the stars. Tables with white flowers and tall candles. Ghost waiters who appear and disappear without a sound. The kind of place where no one raises their voice because money and blood have already spoken for everyone.

They guide me to a central table. Central, naturally. Visible from every angle. Any movement I make can be catalogued by half the dining room.

Zion pulls out my chair. Luka sits to my right, so close I feel his warmth through the thin fabric. Elias sits across from me, his back to the wall—the only one with a complete view of the territory, the only one who can see danger before I can.

“You will eat,” Luka says, close to my ear, his voice low enough to be mine alone, “and you will smile. And if anyone comes to speak with us, you will be exactly who they need to see.”

“And who do they need to see?”

His eyes analyze me for a long second.

“Our woman.”

The first half-hour is almost tolerable. The wine is excellent. The food arrives on elaborate plates that I eat mechanically, because Luka monitors every forkful like vital signs. Zion converses with the table beside us—a businessman and his wife, who laughs at everything he says with that laugh of a woman in love with the wrong man.

Then Zion’s hand settles on my knee beneath the tablecloth.

It does nothing. It simply rests there, warm and heavy, while he continues the conversation as if I don’t exist. But the pressure increases slowly, millimeter by millimeter, moving up the inside of my thigh.

I press my legs together. He doesn’t stop.

“Zion,” I whisper.

“Hm?” he responds to the businessman about ports in Montenegro, smiling, while his fingers reach the limit of what the dress allows and stop. Constant pressure. Impossible to ignore.

I reach for my wine glass. Luka removes it from my hand with surgical gentleness.

“Slowly,” he murmurs. “I don’t want you dizzy. I want you completely present for everything that comes after.”

Elias doesn’t speak for the entire dinner. He simply watches me over the rim of his whiskey glass, and there is something in the quality of that silence that is more intimate and more threatening than any word.

Back in the suite, the temperature shifts. Luka closes the door and leans against it. Zion goes to the bar and pours whiskey without offering any. Elias stands in the center of the room as if the space were an extension of his own body.

I stand at the window. The sea outside is absolutely black, with no visible horizon. Inside me, the darkest secrets remain locked away — the terror my father causes me, the real reason for my escapes, the full extent of my ruin. They know nothing. And I intend to keep it that way.

“Thinking about running?” Zion asks, without turning from the bar.

“Always.”

Elias crosses the room slowly. Stops behind me. He doesn’t touch, but I feel the heat of his body like a solid wall.

“Six days,” he says, his voice low and direct. “And you still haven’t been quiet for more than an hour.”

“Maybe I’m not the kind of woman who stays quiet.”

“Maybe,” he agrees. “Or maybe you use the noise to keep from hearing what’s inside you.”

Hours later, when I thought they would let me sleep, I discovered that in their world, there are no empty threats.

I woke to the absence of warmth. Zion’s arm no longer weighed on my waist. Before I could sit up, large hands gripped my wrists.

“Shh. Don’t fight." Elias’s voice came through the darkness.

The silk robe was pulled from my shoulders, leaving me bare to the cold air. Something soft and silky slid over my eyes. A blindfold. Before I could turn my face, Luka tightened the knot, plunging me into absolute darkness.

The air left my lungs.

“No! Take it off!” I cried, struggling.

A warm weight settled on my thighs. Zion. Two hands held my face firmly.

“Hey. Feel me." His voice was intense, but there was an anchor in it. “It’s us. You’re safe.”

“Safe?” I sobbed. “You blindfolded me!”

“Because you need to stop looking at your scars and start feeling what’s right in front of you,” Luka said, clinical and shadowed.

Elias, who held my wrists above my head, transferred them both to one hand. With the other, he traced a line from my neck to the valley between my breasts.

  • Love At Sea   Chapter 22 (146) – Cracks

Elara's body is still warm against mine when the sun truly begins to rise.I didn't sleep well. I spent most of the night awake, listening to her breathing, feeling every small movement, as if at any moment someone would knock on the door and try to take her away. My hand is still splayed on her stomach, fingers slightly curved, possessive even in exhaustion. She wakes slowly. First a sigh. Then her body tenses for a second, as it always does, before remembering where she is. When green eyes open and find me, there's something different there. It's not just the residual desire from the night. It's weight.— You were awake again — she murmurs.— I was.— Because of them.— Because of you.Elara looks away for a moment. I hold her chin and make her look back.— Tell me what you're thinking. She hesitates. Her throat moves as she swallows.— Yesterday, when I went with Maeve to the kitchen… she asked me if I could really imagine a life away from you. Not in a cruel way. In a… worried way

  • Love At Sea   Chapter 21 (145) – The Whole Day Under Watch

Breakfast ends in heavy silence.Maeve clears the cups with movements that are too calm. Luka remains seated, arms crossed, watching every time my hand moves toward Elara. I don't hide it. I keep my fingers on her thigh under the table, my thumb drawing slow circles over the fabric of her sweatpants. She doesn't pull away. She just clenches her jaw a little tighter. When we finally stand up, Maeve speaks without looking directly at me:— You two are staying in the living room today. No disappearing into the bedroom. No locking yourselves in. I want you in sight.I almost snap back something sharp, but I hold back. I just nod once, rigidly.I lead Elara to the large sofa in the living room. I sit first and pull her close against my side. My arm goes around her back, my hand ending on her opposite shoulder, keeping her pinned against me. She hesitates for a second, then gives in, her body settling against mine. The scent of her hair rises and calms me in a way I hate to admit.Luka sett

  • Love At Sea   Chapter 20 (144) – Under the Same Roof

I wake before the sun fully pierces through the curtains. The light is still dim, grayish, the kind that doesn't warm. Elara is lying on her side, facing me, her face relaxed in deep sleep. One of my hands is splayed on her waist, fingers lightly dug into the soft flesh. The other is tucked under the pillow, too close to where I usually keep the gun when the anxiety gets too tight. The sheet is low on her waist. I can see the marks I left on her neck, her shoulder, and the curve of her breast. Yesterday I came inside her again. The smell of sex and possession still clings to both our skins.I wish I could lock the world outside and stay with just this. But the world is in the guest room.I hear movement downstairs. Light, careful steps. The sound of a cup being placed on the stone countertop. The low hiss of the coffee maker. Maeve is already awake. Probably has been for a while.Elara stirs. A small moan escapes her as her body stretches. Green eyes open slowly, still clouded with sl

  • Love At Sea   Chapter 19 (143) – The Weight of Their Gaze

The conversation ends, but its weight doesn't.Maeve stands up first. The movement is slow, controlled, as if she's holding onto something that threatens to explode. Luka follows her with his eyes before rising as well. I remain seated, Elara's hand still clasped in mine. I don't let go. Not now. Maybe never.— I want a glass of water, Maeve says, her voice lower. — And I want her to come with me to the kitchen.I open my mouth to refuse, but Elara squeezes my fingers before I can speak.— I'll go — she says, surprising all three of us. Her voice comes out hoarse but firm. — Just… one minute.I turn my face toward her. The look we exchange is charged. I don't like it. Every fiber of my body screams against the idea of letting her leave my field of vision with my mother. But there's something in the way Elara looks at me—a silent decision—that makes me slowly release her hand.— Five minutes— I warn, my voice low and hard. — After that, I'm coming after you.Maeve doesn't respond. She

  • Love At Sea   Chapter 18 (142) – The Conversation

I lead them into the living room without letting go of Elara's hand for a single second. My fingers are firmly wrapped around hers, almost painfully tight. I feel the fine tremor that runs through her arm, but she doesn't try to pull away. When we reach the larger sofa, I pull her to sit pressed against me. My thigh presses against hers. My arm goes behind her back clearly, possessively, almost challengingly. Her body is rigid, but she lets herself be pulled.Maeve and Luka sit on the sofa opposite. The space between the two sofas feels like a border. The air is too heavy for the size of the room.No one speaks for too long.I feel Maeve's gaze burn on me and then slide to Elara. She observes the marks on her neck, the way our fingers are intertwined, the forced closeness of our bodies. Luka remains silent, his elbows resting on his knees, the serious, calculating look I've known since childhood.Maeve is the first to break the silence. Her voice is controlled, but I know my mother we

  • Love At Sea   Chapter 17 (141) – The Arrival

The clock shows 7:47 PM.I'm standing in the living room, near the window that overlooks the mansion's entrance. Elara is sitting on the sofa behind me, her hands clasped together on her lap. The black dress I chose for her hugs her body discreetly, but the marks on her neck still show above the collar. I didn't ask her to hide them. I don't want her to hide them. The silence between us is dense.I feel her presence like a second skin. Every breath. Every small movement. Since earlier, when I fucked her slowly in bed and then washed her with my own hands, something has changed in the air. It didn't get lighter. It got heavier. More real."You're nervous," she says softly, her voice hoarse."I'm ready," I correct."It's the same thing."I turn and look at her. Elara lifts her face. Her green eyes are calmer than I've ever seen them, but they still carry that underlying fear and defiance. I walk to the sofa and crouch in front of her, my large hands covering her knees."When they walk i

  • Love At Sea   Chapter 5 – Storm on the Deck

The Caribbean sun beats down on my face as we walk along the main deck. The black silk robe Zion gave me barely hides what happened in the last few hours. My wrists are still marked, red beneath the wide sleeves. Every step reminds me that I’m here against my will… and, at the same time, that I did

  • Love At Sea   Chapter 4 – Crumbs of Luxury

Zion continues sliding the cold strawberry over my nipple, circling slowly, teasing. Elias keeps two fingers pressed against my soaked entrance, opening me, but without penetrating—just feeling how wet and desperate I am.“Say it,” Elias repeats, his voice deep and relentless. “Say you want us. Or

  • Love At Sea   Chapter 3 – The Burning Wait

Time inside this suite becomes something viscous and cruel.Minutes stretch like hours. I no longer know if thirty minutes or three hours have passed since the door closed with that final click. The digital clock on the nightstand reads 23:47, but the black sea beyond the panoramic windows offers n

  • Love At Sea   Chapter 1 – Tied Awakening

My eyes open slowly, heavily, as if the whole world were submerged in dark molasses. The first thing I feel is the gentle rocking—not of a car, nor of an ordinary bed. It’s the constant, deep motion of something large slicing through the sea. The scent of salt, varnished wood, and expensive luxury
