Chapter 3

Jane's P.O.V

I immediately went to hug him as he removes his hand from her waist and hugs me back tightly.

"I miss you so much Anne" he smiles

"Well I don't because you didn't tell me you had a girlfriend" I whisper before breaking from the hug and scowling at him.

"And you must be Esperanza,my brother has said so much about you. You are beautiful"I say and she looked surprised.

I pull her into a hug ,which surprised her by the way. We broke from the hug and I couldn't keep my eyes off her, she looks so familiar,like I've seen her somewhere before but I can't put my finger on it.

Just then mom,dad and Flynn came behind me.

"Hey mom and dad,hello Flynn" my brother said hugging our parents and awkwardly waving at Flynn.

Jayden isn't really a fun of Flynn,he says he is too perfect to be true but I always brush it off because I'm happy with him.

"Oh my ,you must be Esperanza. I am Fernanda and this is my husband Gabriel,it is lovely to finally meet you. My son can't stop bragging about you"mom says and she turns red.

Mom hugs her and she shook hands with dad. Dad is very unaffectionate with other ladies except for me,mom and his sisters like Alma,she lives in Venezuela. So hugging her would be so awkward for him.

"And this is my husband Flynn "I introduce and they shake hands,I could see a weird glint in Flynn's eye , like a look of lust but I decided to brush it off.

"Well let's all go to the dining room. Dinner is already served" mom says and we obliged and moved to the dining hall.

My parents have been suckers for shiny,expensive vases, especially my mommy. So most of the rooms in the house are filled with vases and ancient sculptures.

Although we were a family of four growing up , our dinning table was always long with chairs all over it.

It could occupy an entire village. We sat opposite of each other with my dad at the head.

I kept looking at Esperanza, she looked familiar and then it hit me.

"You are Esperanza Miller, the niece of Nikolas and Amelia Miller. That is why you look so familiar that I couldn't put a finger on it" I say in surprise.

"Actually I don't carry the Miller name,it is Esperanza Mendes. My mom wasn't related to the Millers,she was just a friend of  Uncle Nikolas and Aunt Amelia" she explains and she sounds like an angel.

I could see her eyes glisten and Jayden gently rubs her back. Aww my brother is in love.

The dinner was served and we started digging in after thanking the Lord.

"So Esperanza what are you majoring in?" Dad asks.

" I'm majoring in law and English. I'm actually doing pre law"she answers with a small smile.

"So what are your aims in life. What type of lawyer are you planning on being"dad asks again.

"Dad!" Jayden groans but he just waves him off.

"I would like to own my own law firm like my aunt. She wants me to take over when I'm done with college. I also want to be a criminal lawyer and a divorce attorney"she says confidently

"I like you already. Don't hesitate to call me when you need anything else " dad says clearly pleased by her answers.

" So Esperanza darling,do you like have any extra curricular activities you are interested in" my mom asks

"I like football,as the American will say it ,soccer" she says and mummy squeals

"Oh mi Dios, you are perfect for my son"she giggles and I could see the blush on her cheeks.

After dinner my dad asked my brother to sing like older times.

Jayden and I loved to sing when we little kids.

We would pretend we were superstars or celebrities and build our own stage.

We would get our parents to be our fans and we would pretend to perform a show for them. They also acted along just to make us happy.

I loved Celine Dion's songs and even perfected her high pitch notes.

So we decided not to do our usual song,he wanted to dedicate it to Esperanza.

As usual I take my guitar and he grabs the microphone.

My brother now had her in his arms and they look deep into their eyes.

Flynn wraps his arms around me and I giggle.

"I love you"he whispers

"I love you too",I whisper back and we continue to look at  my brother and the love of his life.

After our show,Flynn and I decided to head back home.

Jayden and Esperanza are staying the night so after bidding our byes we left.

I love my family and I couldn't ask for more.
