Mary went home directly after wrapping up. As she entered the door, she saw her mother preparing some food in the kitchen while her brother was locked in his room. Probably studying again.
Her mother, Janet, noticed her presence. She smiled while her hands held a ladle, “I’m almost done cooking. Clean yourself your room and rest. I’ll call you once it’s done.”
Mary shook her head and replied, “I’m good, mom. I ate before going home. I’ll take some rest for the night”. She kissed her forehead, “Goodnight mom. Say my goodnight to Mavy as well.”
Janet saw the tiredness on her daughter’s face so she nodded. “Okay, go rest. But I’ll leave some food for you. If you ever feel hungry, you can just heat it by then.”
