LOGIN~Eve Pov~
Logan is probably every woman’s dream man, he is tall with a muscular body and chiseled chest, his jet black hair, his eyes are catching too, not to mention his eyes— they are ocean-like, but I wasn’t that thrilled that I would be getting married to him, I just got out of a marriage, which almost cost me my life— marriage now seemed like a nightmare to me.
I called Arthur aside and asked him what was going on, he said he brought me along with him so I could say no to them myself, because he doesn’t have the gut to reject them by himself—after all they are the Maxwells.
“What if I say no?” I asked him, hoping there were none of his business deals on the line.
“It’s a marriage of convenience, and I don’t know how you'll feel about it. But there’s a lot at stake for me and them too. We need a solid reason to merge our hotels together to prevent them from running out of business as one of our subsidiaries, and marriage is just the perfect plan.” He explained, adjusting his tie.
“Okay, let me speak with Logan first. I need to know how he feels about this.” I told him, knowing I didn’t have a choice but to agree at that point.
We went back inside, and took our seat as we continued eating. I could see Logan glancing at me from his seat. It was a round table and we were a few metres apart.
“So have you explained the situation to her, Arthur?” Gabriel asked, wiping his mouth with a napkin.
“Yes, she would like to discuss with Logan first before she gives an answer.” He responded, smiling at Gabriel to assure him everything was under control.
Gabriel smiled back at him, and I noticed Logan was looking at me again, but I didn’t acknowledge him. After we were done eating, everyone left, except Logan.
“Hey.” Logan said, making me stop checking emails on my phone.
“Hi, Logan.” I replied, placing my phone in my bag.
“So, you wanna get married?” I loved his accent.
I smiled, “You don’t find it strange?”
“Strange?” He raised his eyebrows.
“Marrying a stranger. Besides, you know I was adopted.” I stated, giving him reasons to reconsider.
“You saw my dad and my mom, right?” He asked, and I nodded. “They had an arranged marriage but it’s hard to tell, because it was like they’ve always been meant for each other.” He smiled, walking over to take a seat close to me.
“So you really want to do this?” I asked him, feeling skeptical about everything. It must be PTSD.
“Yes. For my family, and for myself. Arthur had said a lot about you.” He said, taking a sip from the champagne he poured into his glass earlier.
“Okay, for now I’ll do it for Arthur, but if love blooms along the line, I’ll embrace it.” I said and we both clicked our glasses.

I had gone on a series of dates with Logan, and there was no time he didn’t sweep me off my feet each time. I told him not to ask too many questions about me, because I love my new life as Eve Craig and I was glad he didn’t press any further. He was the real definition of a gentleman, I was afraid I had fallen for him sooner than I anticipated already.
It was two weeks to our marriage and our families didn’t take the publicity as a joke—it was all over the news; Loeve2024 .
It was probably from the publicity Brian saw me on the posters, because I was surprised when he suddenly appeared in front of me, asking for forgiveness.
“What do you think you are doing Brian?” I asked him, furious that he had the gut to show his face in front of me.
“You know it was Morgan that orchestrated everything. I’ve always loved you and I still actually love you.” He begged, and I could feel the sincerity in his voice.
“Yeah, you almost killed me, but it’s all thanks to you I’m here today, so I have nothing against you.” I stood up, taking my bag to leave.
“Please invest in my company! You have money now, and my company is currently undergoing a bad wave. Consider our past relationship and help me.” He begged, desperately holding my leg.
“Get off!” I pushed him and walked away. I can’t believe he has the gut to come over to beg me shamelessly like that. Was it because I let what they did to me slide? Now, I couldn’t think of anything but to get back at them which I did.
Three days after Brian showed his pathetic face in front of me, I started digging up dirt on his sister, Tesie. Two days later, I sent the evidence of her drug abuse to the police and she was arrested.
While I was thinking of how to deal with Brian’s mother before I moved to Morgan, a rumor was spreading at the company already. It said I was a whore who cheated on my ex-husband. I didn’t take the rumor as a big deal, so I kept doing what I do best— working and drafting my revenge plan until Logan came.
He barged into my office without knocking, and the look on his face was something I had never seen before.
“So, you were married?” He asked, losing his tie a bit. “Was that why you keep telling me, you’ll tell me when you are certain you love me? Or were you planning to tell me when you are certain I am already head over heels for you?” He asked, rounding up my desk and facing me directly.
I stood up slowly, “What if I was married Logan? You should be asking me why I left my marriage.” I pointed out to him, folding my arms over each other.
He laughed sarcastically, rubbing his palm over his face. “You are indeed a shameless whore, huh? I can’t believe I pictured a future with you.” He said, his tone downcast and full of sadness.
“Are you regretting it now? You won’t even give me a chance to explain?” I asked, trying to reach for his hand.
He snapped his hand away from mine, “What does the daughter of an arsonist have to explain?” His blue eyes are now filled with tears that are begging to drop, but he was using all his might to hold it in.
“How did you know about my father?” I asked, my heart beating fast in my chest, afraid that the past I hid with every effort in me had finally caught up with me.
He picked the envelope he dropped on the table earlier, took out the content in it, and spread it in the air. My hand caught a torn piece of a newspaper with the heading “The First Child Of The Rising Billionaire, Mr Maxwell, Owner Of Maxwell Groups Of Company, Died In A Fire Incident Caused By The Arsonist, Steve Cole.” 20-01-2009.
“Because he killed my brother!”
Logan’s POV I had some late night work to do at the office since tomorrow myself, Emily and two faced will be having our first shoot for the brand opening. Maybe I was giving myself an excuse and I was trying to overwork myself just so I would not have to see two faced in my sleep. I was getting tired of it and for some reason the dreams were getting better. The other night I knocked myself out hoping it would work and it didn’t. I only ended up suffering from a hangover. I wanted to be alone, so I sent my secretary and assistant home. It was over work hours and the building was quieter than it normally is. I stood at the window side of my office. The view was excellent. It used to be my late brother's office. Even if most people say a CEO should be at a bigger office, I didn’t mind. I loved the place since it makes me feel close to Marcus and it happens to be the last place I saw him. The glass of Scotch in my hand tasted better than it has in a while. I had to think of the bes
Eve’s POV I came back from my morning run. It wasn’t something I did often but it feels good when I do. I somehow ran into Mark and we decided to grab coffee together since he said he has some information for me. It happens that the fire outbreak wasn’t from the electrical room as the fire fighters suspected, it was from the underground storage house which was directly under the electrical room and that was why when the fire came to the surface the electrical room was the first place that got affected. It all made more sense now. I was glad we were getting closer to the issue. We were done drinking our coffee and we were about to leave when I got a text from my dad. He wanted to see me. I haven’t been able to see him for a while and this was the best opportunity. I didn't hesitate to tell him I would be coming around for breakfast. Since it was my old home, and it’s still my home I didn’t mind going there in my gym clothes. “You’ve forgotten about your old man huh?” My dad pulle
Logan’s pov I saw the jar at the auction and I almost lost my mind or maybe it wasn't it, but I didn’t mind before spending a million dollars on it. It might just have been a normal jar to every other person, but to me it meant something special. It was the first gift I received from my late brother when we were still kids. We traveled down to the Asian region on a business trip with our parents. We went for a random street shopping but we ended up surprising each other with a gift and it happened to be the same extra jar. I remember how we laughed at each other’s taste and for the fact that we are in each other's minds. If men have a male soulmate I am sure he was mine. I walked up to the stage with Eve later on to give a quick speech before the actual partying began. The glam night might have been held for years and this is the second time I was attending it, but this time around because it was hosted by a friend. My gaze met with Eve’s. I must admit she looked really beau
Eve’s POV “Good day ladies and gentlemen, I welcome you all to the Tenth edition of The Glam Night.” The master of ceremonies announced as we were all seated. Everyone was dressed beautifully and the place was filled with beautiful colors matched together. After Logan came by my office earlier, I didn't ask any questions, I just followed him like he wanted. It was becoming a thing for our drives together to be quiet and awkward, and I was slowly getting used to it.Most husbands and wives would talk about how their day went and stuff going on, but with Logan I knew for sure I couldn’t do that. Thanks to Mark, the silence broke for a while when I received a call from him. I picked up on the second ring with hopes to get good news, but unfortunately the investigation wasn’t getting anywhere yet. I told him to make sure they leave no stone unturned, and the Mark I know will go the extra mile if he has to, just to get to the bottom of it, and that is why I trusted him to handle thin
Eve’s POV “Good morning Eve this is the document you ask for.” Mark handed me a file as I made my way into the building. “Thank you Mark.” I sent him a small smile as we took huge steps together toward the conference room. I have a thing for being punctual. After having my dinner last night, I put a call through to Mark and asked him to compile some documents which I would be proposing to each member of the board. And a few minutes after I was done talking to Mark, Logan came home. At first it looked like he was going to pass by like I wasn’t there but then he stopped and he told me that we would be going to an event by evening today. It was an event where top big business figures would be, and I had to show up with him to give our marriage and businesses a good name and make us look responsible. Although our conversations may have been short and simple and only about business, I was glad he wasn't ghosting me after all. He told me that we would be going for an event today but
Eve's POV I hit my bed with a thud. It was a really long day. I decided to take a long bath while reading my favorite novel. After the press conference, I told Mark to set a meeting with the board of directors tomorrow. A flashback of how people looked at me when the reporter accused me of lying my way into becoming Mr Arthur's daughter sent a shiver down my spine. I refused to answer the question I was asked, and I ended the press conference not because I was afraid of what people would say or think, but because people will always believe what they want to. If I try to explain or defend myself it will only make me look guilty. Arthur gave me an opportunity and I will never take it for granted. I will never stop proving to myself or to him how grateful I am. I signed heavily. I soaked myself deeply into the bathtub that was filled with warm water ,and buried my head in the water for a while. It was peaceful. I was feeling better after having my long hot bath. My head and my m
