Liam’s POV

If I had been told I’d wind up half-naked in the restroom for ladies earlier this morning, then I would have bitten that person’s head off.

An absent minded server had decided “oh, today is the day for me to soil someone’s clothes. Why don’t I try Mr Liam’s?” What a lousy place to be called a five-star restaurant.

I had been washing my hands in the sink when I realized I was in the wrong bathroom, but it was too late. A lady had walked in already. My eyes widened when I realized it was her. The woman I had pushed out of the road hours back.

“If I let go, you won’t scream anymore, right?” I asked, and she nodded. Slowly, I peeled my hands away from her mouth as she inhaled and exhaled.

“You… you.. why… what?” She stuttered

“I can explain.” I said, trying to calm her down.

“You’re a pervert! What are you doing in the ladies’ room, huh?” She yelled.

“Okay, lady, it’s a crazy story. First, this restaurant is trash. Second, a server soiled my clothes and I have a meeting with a client here in about 10 minutes. Someone will soon return with some clothes. Does it make sense to you now?” I walked away and sat on the marbled counter.

“Doesn’t explain you being in the ladies’ room.” She said.

“Don’t you mix up the bathroom sometimes?” I shrugged.

“No, I don’t. As a matter of fact, I read signs before getting into a door.” She rolled her eyes to the back of her head. “You sound arrogant today you know, wouldn’t kill you to be the nice guy you were hours ago.”

“Okay Miss perfectionism, I would love to applaud you for that, but my hands are currently in a tight spot trying to hide my big guy away from your tasty gaze.” I tightened the grip on my dick. Did she really think me saving her meant we were friends?

“Excuse me? You’re definitely a pervert who lacks a job, I’m sure about that.” She hissed as she walked closer, studying me for a couple of seconds. Her eyes pierced through my body and the way my dick reacted to her gaze. It’s like she owned me.

“I have an offer for you.” She grinned.

The way she looked at me with that grin on her face made me uneasy. I never flinch at the sight of a woman, but this was unbearable and it wasn’t good. “Sorry miss, but I don’t sexually satisfy women for money.” I scoffed.

“What the hell? What do you take me for?”

Even the way she yelled at me made my inner child happy. How can a total stranger make me happy when I knew nothing about her?

“Okay, okay, I’m sorry. I thought you wanted a night with me.” I teased trying to mask my hatred. “So what is the offer about?” I asked.

She rolled her eyes and folded her arms on her chest.

“Well, I need to get married tomorrow. So, will you marry me?” She pouted her lip and batted her lashes like a 4-year-old. This made her cute as fuck. But marriage? Was this lady crazy? Did she even have the slightest clue about who she was talking to?

“I know what you must be thinking, but I’m desperate. I’ll pay you and we have to convince my dad we’re in love for 5 months only. After that, you can get your money and leave.” She pleaded

“What makes you think I need money, and what’s in it for you?” I tilted my head and smiled. She must think I’m a hungry and jobless guy to offer me money like I don’t already swim in it.

“I’ll offer you 10 million dollars for each month you spend with me. Besides, my inheritance is on the line here. So please take this offer. In addition, I’ll take care of all your needs. Just name it. I’m desperate.” She begged.

This was the weirdest way to ask for my hand in marriage, but the boldest and I was eager to know how far she can go with this. How could she just offer a stranger so much money?

“Okay lady, as my future wife, I can’t be calling you lady. Can I at least get a name?” I hopped down from the counter, standing tall in front of her as she gulped down on her saliva.

My phone chirped and I picked up immediately. When I saw the text message, attached with a photo of the woman standing before me, my eyes nearly popped out of their sockets.

“Boss, the woman from last night is Aliya Van Alen, the enemy’s daughter.” Posh’s text read.

No fucking way! I stood before a woman whose family was the reason for my return. Her father Vinichi had sent a letter to my dad saying his daughter was the perfect match for me, and our families would do great together but I had quickly interpreted the letter before it got to dad and tossed it in the trash. If only he knew how much I despised their entire existence.

“Aliya, Aliya Van Alen. And you are?” She stretched out her hand, snapping me back to reality.

Suddenly a smirk spread across my lips, this was perfect.

I never thought in my wildest imagination that I’ll want to marry a Van Alen this badly. An opportunity presented itself right here and I was going to seize it although it deviates from my original plan.

I wonder why she’s willing to pay a random guy millions just, so she avoids marrying me. Oh wait, I’m the random guy she’s paying. This will be fun.

“You can call me Nick.” I took her hand and smiled. “So when’s the wedding, sweetheart?”

I wouldn’t let her know I’m Liam De Luca, the man she’s originally supposed to marry and the man who will make her and her family wish for death. I’ll play her little game for now. She just made things easier for me and it is perfect

“First, let’s get you some clothes.” She said as she brought her phone to her ear. “Brooke, please, can you get me some male clothes in like 5 minutes? I think a size 10. Thank you.” She concluded.

I got lost in her radiance for a moment. She was dressed impeccably and her petite figure gave way for her well-shaped hips to pop better in that skirt she had on. Her hazel eyes held a lot of secrets behind them, secrets I was going to uncover.

A knock came on the door and she walked towards it, returning with some new jeans and a t-shirt. Not my style, but we’ll go with that for now, I guess.

“Here, you can change up, meet your client and we talk after that.” She handed me the clothes and turned away like she hadn’t already seen most of my body.

I dressed up quickly and walked towards her. “Don’t worry, my meeting has been canceled. I’m all yours.” I winked.

“I knew you were a pervert. But that’s not important right now. Why don’t you join I and my assistant over at our table, then we talk about the terms of this marriage.” She said.

“Lead the way.” I replied, and she nodded as we made our way back to her table.

As we walked by, I texted my most trusted bodyguard, Posh, to stay away from me for the day. I noticed the big guy looked down at his phone and back at me as he nodded.

“Brooke, this is Nick. Nick meet Brooke.” She introduced me to her assistant, who sat unfazed by why her boss suddenly leaves for the restroom and comes back with a man.

“I think I need to you that particular restroom as well so I can fetch me a hot man like this,” she whispered to Aliya, but I could hear her clearly.

“Oh, this is amazing. Dear Aliya, after reaping a year of my life, you find another man to do your bidding in just hours? How cheap are you really?” A voice cut through the little discussion they had been having.

I raised my head from the menu I had been reading to find a rather malnourished young man with a slightly bearded lady.

“What do you want Philip?” Aliya’s voice had pain in it and this filled every bit of my body with anger and I couldn’t understand why. Who was this Philip guy?

“Come on, Aliya, let this pretty boy go. You can’t solve your man issues with another man. Have some dignity.” The lady who had been standing by the man now moved closer.

Aliya rose to her feet. “Says the woman who has a threesome with her best friend’s fiancé.”

The lady stretched her hand to hit Aliya, but I stood up in time to hold her hand firmly and tossed it away as I looked her straight in the eye.

“No one touches my wife. Next time you try this, you’d be eating through a pipe.”

Aliya’s POV “No one touches my wife. Next time you try this, you’d be eating through a pipe.” Nick’s words startled me, and it sure startled everyone else. We weren’t even married yet, and he was already standing up for me. Who is this man? It’s funny how I walked into a bathroom and met the most beautiful man I had ever seen in my life, and trust me, I had seen a lot of men. For a second, I had forgotten I should be scared because a man was in the ladies’ room, but I stood there feasting my eyes on his body. His face was finely chiseled, perfect height, a lot taller than me and Philip combined, a nicely drawn tattoo on his left hand. My eyes railed from his chest to his torso, and that was when I remembered to scream. He ran towards me, closing my mouth, and I couldn’t help but stare into his striking eyes, a blend of blue and grey. “How dare you speak to my fiancé that way? Do you know who I am, you incompetent fool?” Philip growled, snapping me back to reali

Liam’s POVAs she handed me her house address, I couldn’t understand why she’d let a man speak to her that way. It’s not like I cared what happened to her; I just found it disrespectful how a lowlife could speak to an heiress like that. Did she really not tell him who she was? Because he seemed clueless.I took the card from her hand, staring down at her hazel eyes, and a smirk formed on my lips. If only she knew the person she was dealing with right now, a cheating ex would be the least of her problems. She didn’t wait for another word as she got into her car and drove away.“Boss, I must say, what you’re wearing is ugly,” Posh said, emerging from behind me while I stared at her moving car. He wasn’t wrong. It was quality, but not my style.“Let’s go. I have some things to take care of before meeting her later at her place,” I said, walking toward my sleek black SUV with Posh trailing behind me.“You’re walking into the enemy’s territory, boss. Why don’t we just get it over with now?

Liam’s POVI had completely forgotten I asked my men earlier today to find Vinichi’s first daughter and give her father a good scare before I bumped into her at the restaurant. The dumb idiots were only supposed to pass on a message, but they almost assaulted her.Aliya’s hands were trembling as they gripped my shirt tightly. Her sobs echoed in the room, each tear soaking into my clothes.“Shh,” I murmured, patting her back softly. For a second, I almost felt human, but this wasn’t the time for guilt to surface.“I don’t know who they were, Nick. They broke in and—” She couldn’t even finish her sentence. Her voice cracked, and she clung to me even tighter. I didn’t think she had it in her to hug me this tight because earlier it seemed as though she’d never need my help.“Don’t speak,” I said firmly, but not harshly. My hand brushed the hair from her tear-streaked face as I stared down at her. Those hazel eyes, glassy and red-rimmed, gazed up at me, so full of trust it made me sick to

Aliya’s POVI couldn’t let Nick know how thankful I was to him for showing up when I had no one to save me. Those men almost violated me, and that would have destroyed me, but he saved me and never left my side.I know I was being a brat, but letting my guard down again wasn’t something I was willing to do. Our relationship was clearly contracted. He worked for me, I paid him—it shouldn’t be that difficult, right? As we drove into my dad’s mansion, my heartbeat quickened. I knew I shouldn’t care what they thought, but I still felt the need to prove that I didn’t live for their love—especially since they clearly had none for me.The car came to a halt, and I couldn’t understand why Nick didn’t seem amazed at the size of this estate. Anyone who got in here always had their mouths hanging open, but him—it seemed he wasn’t impressed. Not like I was aiming to impress him, but he ought to be.“Don’t say anything unless you’re being asked a question. I can’t risk you spoiling my plans. But i

Aliya’s POV“Please hand me your phone, Aliya.” Nick stretched out his hand, confusing me even more in my state of shock. I opened my car door and stepped out, leaning on it as I wiped away my tears. This was the second time in just one day that Nick had seen me cry, and it was embarrassing.“What do you need my phone for?” I asked, my voice hoarse and still shaky from crying.Veins ran through his forehead like lightning as he stared into my eyes. “I know we’re not close, and we barely know each other, but trust me—just hand it over. Let me take care of this.”Was he crazy? He was right in stating that we barely knew each other, but here he was thinking he could handle a problem like this just because he might have saved me one or two times.“I just want to give him a warning, and I have friends who can make sure the picture goes away,” he explained, making me even more furious.“You want me to hand you a phone that has my naked pictures so you can warn the sender? Liam’s POV It was funny and crazy that she thought I cared about her little outburst the previous night. She had called me broke in many ways, but jokes on her—her family’s wealth came second to mine. It has always been that way, and it’ll always be that way. When I had asked for her phone, I honestly didn’t want to take a look at the picture Philip had sent. I had wanted to warn him, but then I realized she would think the worst of me, so I didn’t press the matter further. But when she lashed out at me continuously, I tried so hard not to hold her by the neck and strangle her till she lost her little life. As I walked away from the temptation, I couldn’t help but wonder why she’d choose to make someone like Philip her fiancé, who has done nothing but insult her. Once inside my room, I made sure to shut the door tight, and then I called up Posh immediately. “Yes, boss?” he responded. “I want to know everything about Philip, the guy who harassed Aliya at the restaurant ye

I knew if I told you I was coming over, you’d turn me down,” Brooke murmured, and I rolled my eyes.I pulled away from her embrace. “Still, it’s risky,” I pointed out as she brushed past me, heading toward the bar. She poured herself a glass of scotch and downed it in one go before turning back to me.“You know how much I hate working for Aliya. When she came back with you that day from the bathroom, I nearly choked on my own saliva. How could you have accepted her dumb idea of marriage? Did you even think about what this meant?” she questioned, her voice laced with disappointment.“An opportunity presented itself, and I took it,” I replied simply. Aliya’s POV A week had passed since Nala planted that seed in my head, and sleep had evaded me ever since. Every time I tried to get some shut-eye, I had the same dream. My dad is in a red suit, black horns pointing out of his forehead, a trident in his hands, and a demonic smirk plastered on his face. Five minutes into the dream, I find myself strapped to a chair. On my left is my mum, also bound, tears streaming down her beautiful face. I yell and call out to her, but before she can understand and turn her head in my direction, she’s stabbed in the heart by Vinichi—by my dad. I always wake up drenched in sweat, to Nick’s worried face and a glass of water in his hands. The dream—no, the nightmare—always leaves me with one thing: that satisfied smirk on Vinichi’s face. It’s burned into my memory, and every effort to think of something else becomes futile. Nick constantly bombards me with questions about what’s been going on, but what can I tell him, huh? For all I know, you could be making this up just to get me to help you.” “I may be a lot of things, but I would never make up something like this,” Nala said, her tone tinged with disappointment. “Open your mind, Aliya. If no one else has told you this, then let me be the first. You’re too naive. I’m not insane enough to bring this up if I didn’t think I could gather real evidence.” My eyes stung. Was I really naive just because I refused to believe the man I’d known as a second father—though technically a butler—had helped end my mother’s life? No. That was literally impossible. William was a kind soul. He couldn’t have. Nala stood, walked up to me, and held my hands. “Aliya, I swear to you, this is the truth. All you have to do is help me get back into that mansion so I can secure some inheritance for my mother and me, and I’ll help you search for the evidence. Just get Camille out.” I didn’t kn

Aliya’s POVCuriosity overwhelmed me as I twirled in my seat. Documents lay before me awaiting my signature, but all I could do was fidget—waiting for Nala like my life depended on it. Suddenly, a knock came at the door, jolting me. “Hi, ma’am.” My other assistant who had filled in for Brooke, walked in with a practiced smile. For some reason, Brooke hadn’t come to work for two days now, and I couldn’t reach her either. I had this nagging feeling that something was terribly wrong, though I couldn’t quite place what. “A certain Miss Nala is here to—” “Send her in.” I cut her off quickly, startling her for a brief moment. With a nod, she exited, and seconds later the door opened again, revealing Nala. She offered a faint smile, standing just at the entrance. “Never thought I’d be this eager to talk to you, sis.” “Neither did I,” I replied. “Please, come in.” Nala moved with poise—like the queen she had always forced herself into becoming. Her red heels clicked acros

This time, the dart landed precisely on the spot she wanted—Camille’s forehead.“Bingo!” she cheered.“Let’s see how you make baseless accusations without a brain to think with,” Nala laughed hysterically, picking up the glass of scotch from the table and downing it in one go.She threw herself onto the bed, eyes staring at the unfamiliar ceiling. She had spent two nights already at the Masini Hotel and was beginning to lose her mind.Just two nights ago, she had been seated by the pool at the Van Alen mansion, punching on her cell phone and giggling like a little girl, when Camille stormed in.“What’s so funny?” Camille hovered above her, crossing her arms over her chest.Nala raised her eyes slowly, gazing at her bri

A paper in one hand, a stethoscope hanging from his neck, a lab coat as white as snow, and an expression that couldn’t quite hide itself. He took a seat opposite me, removing his glasses before speaking. “Mr. Liam, the results are in.”I straightened up, looking him in the eye. “And?”Dr. Ken cleared his throat, his eyes darting between me and the paper in his hands. “It’s positive.
