Chapter 2

Once I realized what he meant, I flatly refused, "If she wants to get married, she can find someone else. She could even pay someone to do it. So why does it have to be you? And why does she have to use our wedding?"

It was obvious. She had made up this excuse because she wanted to marry Liam.

But after hearing my words, Liam's expression turned cold.

He called me selfish and suspicious, then slammed the door and walked away.

After that, we gave each other the silent treatment for an entire month.

I tried everything to make peace with him. I wanted to change his mind.

Three days ago, he finally agreed to hear me out. I thought I had made some progress, but I never expected that meeting to be the moment I pushed myself toward a dead end.

Now, as I looked at the smile on his face and the pleased look he wore while everyone cheered for him, I couldn't tell if he was pretending or if he was truly happy.

"You two are such a perfect match."

"I'm posting this picture to my story right now. Everyone is going to be so jealous."

One of our friends had captured the perfect moment between Liam and Yvonne. As she spoke, she lowered her head and got ready to post it on social media.

But Liam, who had been greeting guests with Yvonne, suddenly turned around and snatched the phone from her hand. "You can't post this on social media."

His brows drew together, and his long fingers pressed the delete button without hesitation.

But when the confirmation screen appeared, he paused for a moment.

In the end, he tapped Cancel and handed the phone back. "A lot of people will see it on social media. If you really want to post it, just send it to me privately later."

A friend beside him nodded. "Exactly. We absolutely can't post this where everyone can see it. If Winnie happens to see it, she'll definitely get jealous again."

"But we've gone this far. How are you going to explain this later? Mr. Fullerton, aren't you afraid she'll get angry and refuse to marry you?"

Liam let out a mocking laugh. "Of course not. We've been together for so many years, and she's been looking forward to this wedding for so long. She won't call it off. I've spoiled her too much, and that's why she's become so spoiled. If I push back on her a few more times, she'll get used to it."

Yvonne nodded too. "Liam has a special status, and he's seen a lot of the world. If you're going to be his wife, you can't sweat the small stuff. Otherwise, how are you going to help him take care of the whole family? Winnie was simply spoiled too much, so that's why she's acting this way. If I were Liam's girlfriend, I would agree to anything he asked me to do."

Everyone laughed and cheered, praising Yvonne for being so understanding.

Liam looked at her with clear approval.

He then told everyone to enjoy the wedding and not worry about me. If there was any problem, he would wait until I returned home before talking it over with me.

But when I heard that, I couldn't help letting out a bitter laugh.

Return home?

He still didn't know that I was already dead and could never return home again.

Without me there, the wedding went incredibly smoothly.

When the party wound down, their friends cheered and teased them, urging Liam not to hold back. Yvonne blushed and playfully protested, but Liam carried her upstairs amid everyone's laughter.

The others followed behind them, still cheering and laughing.

As Liam and Yvonne entered the room, someone whispered, "I think Mr. Fullerton and Yvonne make a great couple. Why don't they just make it official and stay together?"

Another friend was about to tease Liam and Yvonne, but when he heard that, he immediately turned around and said, "I agree. Mr. Fullerton would be better off marrying Yvonne than Winnie."
