Chapter 451

Author: Millie Bridge
Grace's heart sank at this realization, but she didn't let it show on the outside. Acting as though nothing was wrong, she just kept smiling at me.

I had completely moved on from Irvin, and it also no longer mattered to me that he was with Grace. That being said, Cordelia still couldn't stand the sight of them.

So, upon hearing Grace's pointed remark, she couldn't resist retorting, "Say hello? To you two? What makes you think you're worth that effort?"

If the Hardwells weren't as powerful as they were, Cordelia would've charged forward and slapped them both by now. To her, Irvin was a bastard, and Grace was the tramp he had cheated with. She was utterly repulsed by the pair.

Grace was vicious and had a vindictive streak. I wanted to keep Cordelia from crossing her, so I gently tugged on Cordelia's arm to signal her to calm down.

Then, turning to Grace with a smile, I said, "A friend of ours will be giving birth soon, so we're here to pick out a gift for her."

At the time, the enlightened shaman had foretold that if the twins were both girls, they'd be a blessing, like rare and beautiful flowers. If it were a boy and a girl, it would symbolize harmony and prosperity, and the Hardwells' future would shine even brighter. But if they were both boys, it was said to be a bad omen. One was good, and the other evil. They were brothers, destined to turn against each other, and only one would make it out alive. When Grace first married into the Hardwell family and heard this prophecy, she couldn't help but scoff silently. She couldn't believe how superstitious the Hardwells were, actually believing in something so absurd. If the shaman were truly enlightened and capable of prophecy, how could he not even know whether Agatha was carrying a boy or a girl? Why would he use the word "if"?But now…The shaman's words had actually come true, at least a part of it. The twin brothers really were one good and one evil. When Timothy saw the shock and e

Timothy lazily leaned back in his chair and lit a cigar. It was only after he puffed out a smoke ring did he speak. "Of course, it's because I want to use Irvin as free labor and take advantage of his identity while at it."Grace and Timothy might not have had a loving marriage, but it had been passable. They had been husband and wife for years, and she had always believed she understood him fairly well. Otherwise, she wouldn't have been able to recognize him. That being said, as she stared at Timothy before her, Grace felt as though she hadn't truly known him.She was a smart woman. So, of course, she knew why Timothy had called Irvin "free labor". After all, Irvin was living as Timothy right now.In simple terms, it didn't matter what Irvin did or how hard he worked to earn Magnus' approval. Because as long as the real Timothy appeared, without lifting a finger, he could claim everything Irvin had worked hard to build. However, Grace didn't understand why Timothy had faked his

In contrast to Irvin's agony, Grace was happy.Maybe she just had a twisted nature where she couldn't stand seeing others have what she couldn't, especially if it benefited her. And even if it didn't, Grace would probably still rather suffer than see someone else happy with it.However, once her happiness faded, her mind quickly turned to the possibility that I might be pregnant.Grace wouldn't allow anything to disrupt her plan. And aside from the babies growing in her belly, she absolutely refused to allow other Hardwell children to exist. That being said, Grace knew she was being watched very closely right now. She knew Irvin would easily notice any move she made and any action she took toward me. And if that happened, her entire plan could fall apart right before the finish line.Because of this risk, Grace didn't dare make any rash moves. But the more she thought about it, the more she feared that I might have conceived that night. After returning home, this fear gnawed at he

That being said, I was just as bad as Cordelia.Standing outside the maternity store, I couldn't help but want to buy everything as I looked at all the ridiculously adorable baby items inside. So, hand in hand, Cordelia and I walked happily into the store.Without any warning, we ran right into Irvin and Grace.Just as we entered, she held up a cute baby onesie to him. Grace was asking Irvin what he thought of it and if he found it adorable. She also wanted to know which color they should get it in—yellow, blue, or pink? They were stunning individuals.Irvin was tall and strikingly handsome. Dressed in a black, custom-tailored suit, his already distinct figure looked better than a model's. On top of that, his cool and overpowering presence was both regal and alluring.Meanwhile, Grace was ethereally beautiful. Dressed in a form-fitting white dress, she exuded feminine elegance.Standing side by side, they looked perfect together and so pleasing to the eye. Even the sales assista

That criminal organization had been trying to get me to join their research project because they wanted to develop a new AI chip. Using existing neural chip technology as a foundation, they wanted me to research and develop one that could control the human brain's neural signals. With it, that criminal organization would be able to ensure complete allegiance and total obedience from its members. Not only that, they could also implant it into specific targets of their choosing to allow them to control even more people. That was something I absolutely refused to do. So, even though they used Cordelia and her entire family to threaten me, I still couldn't agree to it. That being said, I also refused to allow anything to happen to her and her family members. Hence, I scrambled all over and pulled every string I could to try and create a protective shield around them.It just so happened Cordelia was in Lestoria to settle a few things. So, I immediately flew there to inform her of the
