The poolside glowed with an amber light, casting shadows across the water. The evening air was thick, and cool. The soft background music also make the place dreamy and perfect. After Cecilia and Rebecca's fear and shyness faded, Cecilia stood at the edge of the pool, just moving not far from the edge so as not to drawn. Rebecca swan slowly towards the deep side, fearful but was able to at least control herself, cause of Alex and his friend's presence in the pool.

Cecilia turned sharply, oh and here comes the defender, trying to cover bad act.

Alex didn't blinked, "at least better than pretending as if you care , while all u do is to control everything around you"

"Control?" Cecilia scoffed, stepping forward. "You called that control? Wanting to protect my friend while u stand there doing nothing, and even defending a bad act, deep down in you , you know what he did was bad"

"I saw a girl, enjoying herself and you stopped her like you are her mother", Alex growled "you don't know boundaries, you don't even have any"

"And I have every right to protect my friend don't.."Cecilia said

"Just get the hell out of here"Alex said angrily

"Do u want to beat me, then go ahead, woman beater, go ahead, we know ur type, acting as if u not trained at all at home, where are ur parents? , ur father might even be nonchalant like you , where is your mother ? Is she dead? Cause she can't be alive, seeing you turn out like this" Cecilia said, making sure her voice was loud enough, without even giving him the opportunity to talk

"Ha Cecilia that's too much nah" Rebecca said surprised

" I don't blame you, when u also lack parental guidance, why won't you turn out like this ? I'm sure your mum will be a sloth, just like you , she is very irresponsible to even give birth to this mistake, like carrying mistake for nine months" he said it and bursted into a loud laugh, that echoed. The laugh was so contagious that Enzo and Finz, who has been observing for long joined, and both laughed out loud.

Cecilia left the pool angrily, Rebecca followed her immediately, she even tried to call her so they could walk at the same pace, which she refused. She dressed herself up ordered her own separate Uber.

Alex and his gangs too left the pool, with the joy of triumphing over Cecilia.

"Those girls use to think as if, na only them get mouth, but Alex u enter that girl oo" Finz said smiling loudly.

"As in Ehn, bro cooked" Enzo replied Finz

Alex smiled, " that one small nah, behaving as if nah virgin she be and low key, na thier type Dey collect preek for back, con carry innocent face to deceive people." Alex dropped his friends at their appartment and headed home.

Later in the evening, Felix sat alone on the couch, phone to his ear, chuckling softly

" No no I told u I can cook, he was saying, laughter in his voice.

Florence voice came from end, teasing , "Toast doesn't count as cooking MR CEO."

"You haven't tried my scrambled eggs" he said grinning.

She laughed. Well maybe one day I will try that

Felix's face softened,with his eyes twinkling. "I'd like that, you will now know am a great cook, even Hilda Baci is learning from me" he said laughing out so loud.

"Haa, Felix, don't worry u will make it one day and if it doesn't worth the hype Ehn" she said

"Don't worry, it will surely worth it" he said smiling.

"So what about our deal, I mean I must submit the documents latest Tuesday, and u know tomorrow is Monday, how are we going to go about it?" She asked

Ohh, even if I don't want to partner with your company before, with u here I will surely do, can u come to my office tomorrow so we can finalize everything and sign the necessary documents? He asked, giving this funny facial expression.

"Hmm, okay boss, at ur service always boss"she said smiling so loud.

"Okay, and make sure u come early, before I get angry, and sack u" Felix replied, with a serious tone at first before he finally bursted into laughter

"Okay boss-let me call u back please, I want to attend to somethings here, sort out some files,and need to prepare for tomorrow." She said.

They ended the call  he still had a silly smile on his face, then Alex  who has been sitting at the dinning room, sipping wine, observing since, approached him.

"You look happier" Alex said

Felix glanced up, calm , "is that a crime now?"

"Who was that", Alex asked, sitting on the arm of the couch across him, with a cold voice.

Felix hesitated  then asked quiet boldness, "what if I told you, I was seeing someone and I might bring her home someday? How would u feel , having a stepmother."

Then Alex face shifted, "Don't"

"Alex"

"No" he snapped. "No woman walks in here to replace her"

Felix leaned forward and said  "I'm not saying, I want to replace your mum, I'm asking you to let me have someone"

"She is gone and you are smiling on call with someone else, as if that's the next thing, as if she doesn't have any good impact in ur life, as if she has not been there for you" Felix asked with his eyes twisted in annoyance

Felix sighed. "I smiled because I finally feel alive again, you've locked yourself in the past Alex"

"You know how well I love this woman, dad u said it urself that mum stood by you when u had nothing, u told me she was the best Thing that has ever happened to you, u told me, u can't imagine urself being with another woman, so what changed? I can't even imagine myself, respecting those sloth out there who literally stayed cause they know u are a billionaire."

Felix said coldly, " but Alex,  Florence is different, u know I do look before I leap, I see potentials in her that's why, even your mother will be happy in heaven for taking this step."

"Happy ?, I'm sure if she has the opportunity to give u knock or hot slap from heaven, she would, ha mummy is gentle, if I were to be in her position, I will just be giving u knock and slap anyhow, from any angle and Conner in this house, even in ur office", Alex said angrily

"She is not as wicked as you are now, why will you give me knock and slap cause I want to move on and feel happy and lively again, Felix said, with a low voice, trying so hard not to laugh.

"See, u will even be receiving lashes from me every morning, after waking, Dad u can't bring any woman here, don't even dare or try to bring one sloth here, unless, be ready for me, I will disown u as my father, you can then will ur properties for the bastard, she will bring for u or give you." He said with rage, angrily and furiously, with a loud voice and left.

"Sandra, Sandra" Felix called

"Yes sir" she answered

"Get me something I can nibble on for now please, and be fast with the cooking too"

"Okay sir" , she said and left.

Across Town, at Florence apartment, Florence was working on her system, preparing for the  next day

"Mum, what will u have for dinner?" Cecilia asked, standing while also wearing a sad face.

"My babe, what's wrong with u, u don't look good, what's wrong?" She sleep her system and then walked close to her daughter "Talk to me babe, please , after God, you are the next in my life, please talk to me" she asked "she led her to where she was sitting in the dinning room, and sat her down

"Mum, someone abused me today"she said with a sad face.

"Who dared abuse my princess, babes talk to me what did u do for the person, who is she, where did u know her from, and why haven't untold me about her? I only know only close to Rebecca" Florence asked

"Rebecca and I , went to the pool today, cause I was bored, though I brought the idea to go though, so when we reached there , a guy  touched Rebecca which I was not comfortable with, then I sla  pp, I slapped him, then his friends abused me"

"My babe, firstly you are wrong for slapping a stranger, there are ways u can use to correct him not by slapping him, about the abuse, don't mind him, he is just jealous, u guys are responsible and well trained, stop thinking about this", she said and ended it with a bright smile.

"Okay mum, I love you so much, I'm relieved now mum, sorry for bottling this before, I mean I'm not suppose to act cold all because one useless thing abused me, I know I'm strong and I got that from you, thanks so much mummy, so gist me mum" Cecilia said smiling brightly.

"My love, u remember the day I wore make up, that u asked where  I was going to?, Florence asked

Cecilia nodded slowly

"I had a date, Florence admitted "with someone"

Cecilia froze. "You are dating?"

Florence smiled. "Hmm, not really,  he asked me out that day but have not given him a straight answer yet. He is the CEO of the Sebastian company. He is loving, caring, gentle, I think I love him already babe"

Cecilia's voice sharpened. "You barely survived dad, have you forgotten what that man did to you , to us ?

"I haven't" Florence said quietly " but I refuse to let fear be my story forever"

"Mum are not just risking ur heart, u are also dragging me into this, are u not tired mum ?"

Florence reached for her, but Cecilia stepped back

"I'm not ready to watch you fall apart again"

She walked away, Florence hand still outstretched in the empty air.
