Oliver

I watch as Giselle turns around and, hand in hand with that miserable bastard Dubois, walks away from me—completely ignoring my command to come back. I take a step forward to go after them when a hand stops me.

“What are you doing, Oliver?” my mother demands, clearly agitated.

“I’m going to take my wife back and—”

“That filthy whore will never set foot in my house again,” she snaps, her eyes full of hate as she glares at the woman disappearing from view. “We might as well call off the rest of the event. Thanks to that wretched woman, the launch is ruined.” She sighs and covers her face with one hand, her gaze drifting toward the reporters still watching us.

“Paulette, make the announcement that the event is over,” I order my assistant.

“I… I can’t do that. Don’t you see what she did to me? How I-I look in front of everyone now because of that tramp?” she sobs, wiping away a tear sliding down her cheek.

“Don’t worry, sweetheart. I’ll handle it,” my mother steps in, squeezing Pa

  • Love for revenge   Like a sister to me

Nathan Weeks laterJust like every morning lately, I arrive at the office at the crack of dawn and don’t leave until my body forces me to stop. Rubbing my eyes, I frown as I look over the latest report Scarlett handed me."As you can see, sales have dropped fifty percent compared to the previous quarter... ever since news of your divorce broke," she explains gently."I get it. You don’t need to say another word," I snap."I also need to inform you that Mr. Marchetti’s assistant called this morning... they’ve decided to withdraw their partnership offer.""Damn it!" I slam my hand on the desk. "Just when we needed them the most!"Before I can continue venting, there’s a knock on the door. I tell them to come in, and Kalet walks in, wearing that same stern expression he’s had since everything happened with Giselle."What is it?" I ask, trying to sound indifferent. Ever since that incident, both Kalet and my nanny have kept their distance."You asked me to look into something a while ago

  • Love for revenge   Compensation

With a tightness in my chest and my heart pounding, I stare at the courthouse standing imposingly in front of me. Holding back my tears, I force myself to take one step after another, trying to accept the fact that my marriage to Nathan is just about to end."Are you alright?" Matteo asks, his voice full of concern. "You look awfully pale.""I'm fine. Just a little nervous," I say, not ready to tell him the truth—at least not right now.A few moments later, we reach a long hallway and stop in front of the courtroom where I'll be signing my divorce papers."Would you mind going ahead while I speak with my husband?" I ask Matteo, noticing only Nathan’s lawyers have arrived."Are you sure?""Yes, I'll be fine.""In that case, I'll wait for you inside."As I watch him close the door behind him, I step back a few paces, needing a moment alone with Nathan.I wait for about five more minutes, and then, as that familiar scent of citrus and cedar reaches my nose—once so comforting, now only he

The next day"You haven’t eaten. Aren’t you hungry?" Kalet’s grandmother asks from across the small table, her eyes fixed on me."I-I can’t eat... it feels like sandpaper going down," I mumble, pushing my French toast from one side of the plate to the other."You need to eat something or you’ll get sick," she insists, reaching across to gently squeeze my hand."Has Nathan said anything?" I ask, looking between her and Kalet."No," they murmur in unison."Don’t worry about him, sweetheart. Maybe in a few days, he’ll come around and ask for forgiveness," she says, though her voice wavers with doubt."I—I don’t think so... I heard you talking last night." I shake my head, tears beginning to fall again, just as they’ve done since yesterday afternoon."I’m sorry, dear. We spoke without thinking, and—""No, you only said w-what Nathan’s probably already thinking," I whisper, wiping at my tears before grasping her hand tightly, clinging to my last shred of hope. "Could you go back and talk t

  • Love for revenge   Love has limits

"Have you lost your damn mind?" Kalet snaps at me. "What the hell is wrong with you?""It’s none of your business," I growl, turning on my heel and heading up the stairs."It is our business when you treat that girl like this. Where the hell did you get the idea she's cheating on you with Lefebvre?" my nanny challenges me."Where did I get it? That bastard had my mother’s bracelet in his possession, and—""So what? That’s not proof of anything. Maybe Giselle lost it at some event.""And she didn’t notice?" I scoff. "Besides, she’s a traitor too—she’s always helped the Lefebvres alter my formulas and pass them off as theirs. She even admitted it just now. Or were you not listening?""And even if she did, it’s all in the past," she says, brushing it off."But she was never honest with me. She looked me in the eye and lied, told me she knew nothing about it. And all along, she knew everything.""You don’t have any proof of that either, Nathan. So stop acting like a complete jackass, open

  • Love for revenge   Auction

“Before the bidding begins, there’s something important I must mention,” the host announces, visibly excited, drawing the attention of every guest in the room. “This perfume is the first in the history of this event to receive a perfect score…” He lets the suspense hang in the air for a beat. “Which is why the bidding will start at one hundred thousand euros.”I can’t believe what I’m hearing. I throw my arms around Nathan’s neck, and he catches me in his embrace, smiling proudly. In front of everyone, he places a tender kiss on my lips.“I never imagined we’d be the first to get a perfect score,” I whisper, still in awe of everything that’s happened tonight.“You got it, sweetheart. This was all you.”Before I can respond, I feel someone’s eyes burning into us. I glance around and meet Oliver’s gaze. His jaw is clenched tight—the way it always is when he’s angry.“What are you looking at, baby?” Nathan murmurs, trying to get my attention.“It’s nothing,” I reply softly, a small shive

  • Love for revenge   Christmas fragance

After a fairly calm drive, we finally arrive at our destination. I take Nathan's hand as I step out of the car. My eyes lift, and I find myself lost in the grand venue standing before us. Nathan gently pulls me along toward the entrance, where we give our names. Without delay, we're granted access."It's beautiful," I whisper, still mesmerized by every corner of the place."They went all out with the decorations this year," he replies with indifference, though I can’t hide how enchanted I am. It’s my first time at an event like this, and everything feels almost magical.Maybe it’s the festive air that surrounds everything, or the way people beam with joy and chatter fills the atmosphere. Whatever it is, it warms my heart and lifts my spirits."You look happy," Nathan murmurs, wrapping his arm around my waist. He gently lifts my chin with his fingers, offering a slight smile."I am... I think it’s the season. I love this time of year. The decorations, the families gathering to celebrat
