Chapter seventy-seven

Aurora

That had been a decision I thought a lot about. I didn’t want to spend the rest of my life waiting for Luke to decide. Where I wasn’t a priority, I wouldn’t remain. But I confess, it was the most painful thing I’ve done since I met him.

I cried until my head throbbed with pain. I hear knocking on my bedroom door.

— Are you okay, Aurora? – The voice coming from the other side was my father’s.

Things were so weird, even he was worried about me.

— I’m fine, dad – I got up, wiped my tears and opened the door.

Claudio looked at me and I knew my eyes wouldn’t deny that I had cried, but I didn’t care what he would think, since Claudio himself didn’t care about anything related to me.

I had even forgotten, during those few hours, that Claudio needed to eat and that depended on me.
