REIGN'S POV

“Tulips or Rose?”

“Mel, it is your wedding so you decide.” I pushed the flowers away from my face. “I have no idea why I am even here.”

“I'm indecisive about things like this, just choose for me.” She blinked up at me and pouted.

“Tulips,” I sighed and buried my hands deep in my coat. “I still don't know why I'm here. What about Ivan? Is he busy?”

“I don't know. I didn't bother inviting him,” she shrugged and nodded at the wedding planner.

“You should be doing this with him instead.” I looked around at the venue. It was quite large and I wondered just how many guests were going to be invited.

“It will be more fun with you.” She grinned while walking forward with the wedding planner. “What else do I need to check?”

“The main color theme of the wedding and the food,” The wedding planner guarded us forward. She had introduced herself when I had arrived with Mel but I couldn't remember for the life of me. “Will your friend be deciding that as well?”

I chuckled alongside Mel.

IVAN’S POV I twirled the Martini in my cup absentmindedly. It had been an awful last few days, so much so that I was not sure where to go from there. If only I had known that Reign would have come after us. No, I should have actually known. It was all my fault. After we had run to where we heard the sound, Mr Dashan and I had been shocked to see Reign staring back at us with wide eyes. She didn't say anything, just looked at us wordlessly and then ran away. I wanted to run after her but Mr Dashan stopped me. He said I would get nothing from her except anger and accusations at that moment. The dinner celebration ended rather badly as everyone got three different shocking revelations. That was the last time I have seen Reign and that was over a week ago. When I returned home, I didn't meet her and her room was cleared out.Reign had cut all ties with her. She didn't want to see me anymore.Sure, I was not in the dark about where she was but I still couldn't just barge into her house, e

REIGN'S POV It was a fair deal to say that no one was having a bite tonight. Well, except for Roman who was already wolfing down his food, oblivious to what was going on around him. Oh, to be a kid again. Before I could think better of it, I slipped my hand under the table and held Ivan’s hand. His hand was very cold and trembling. This was a huge blow to all of us, despite how much of an asshole Alfred was. I could only imagine how Ivan must be feeling. “You know how to ruin everything, don't you?” Ivan chuckled, pulling his hand out of mine harshly. I guess my touch was not comforting in any way. “Was this what you had to announce? How could you be so fucking selfish? This is a dinner celebration, a happy moment. Why would you break that kind of news in a place like this?” “I just don't want to go through the hassle of having to tell everybody one by one,” Alfred shrugged. He looked so indifferent for someone who was going to die very soon. “Since a lot of people are her

REIGN'S POV “Where are we going?” I asked as the car sped down the road. Today has been quite eventful with my discharge from the hospital. Although I have to go back a week later to get rid of my cast, my hand doesn't hurt as much as before so I barely noticed. It did a good job though in ruining my outfit consisting of a two piece button up shirt and pant trousers.“Somewhere you can relax?” Ivan smirked.“Come on, that's so vague.”“I can't tell you much but I promise you it's somewhere you are gonna like. You've been there before,” he said.“I have?” My eyes squinted trying to think of all the places I could have fun that I've been to before. Nothing clicked so I just gave up.“Are you okay?” Ivan asked.I nodded and smiled. He asked me that as often as possible. It was surreal seeing Ivan so different and attentive but I was starting to get used to it.“Right, that reminds me. You remember I told you I suspected Christian and Melanie had something going on?”My wide eyes swung t

IVAN'S POV I glanced at my phone for the umpteenth time and sighed. Reign was not calling me. She has not said anything about my proposal either. I knew I said I was going to be patient but I couldn't get my mind off it.Because I knew damn well that she had every reason to refuse. I was scared.“I'm starting to feel bad with how much you're ignoring me, Ivan,” Christian whistled softly.Oh, right. I was in a meeting with Christian.“Sorry, my mind is really occupied right now,” I sighed, running my hands through my hair.“Why? You would rather be at the hospital, right?” he wriggled his eyebrows. It felt like we were back at the beginning when Christian was trying to let me know I had feelings for Reign.I was not denying anything anymore.“Yes,” I confessed. Christian looked taken back but eventually, a smile bloomed on his face.“Glad you finally got your ass out of the denial phase, friend,” he laughed. “What is it going to be now?”“I want Reign. I need her,” I said.“Woah,” Chr

  • Love in the Headlines    Our fake relationship

REIGN'S POV I munched on the cookies Ivan brought before he left for his meeting quietly. I was left to my devices which gave me the space to think about a lot of things. Most especially about Ivan’s proposal. Should I even call it that?I was not sure what to do. In my heart, I knew I felt the same way towards him but my brain told me it was not right. Our inner circle might understand but the rest of the world won't. I would be called names and body shamed. I was not sure if I would be able to handle that. The door slid open and Mel walked in, clutching a laptop to her chest. She spent more time in my hospital room than in hers“Hi, Reign,” she smiled at me before taking her seat on the couch in the corner of the room and getting to work on the laptop.“What are you doing?” I asked, getting down from my bed and walking towards her.“Taking a leap of faith,” she replied. “Alexandra just left and she put ideas in my head.”“Oh, how is she?” I took a seat beside her and peered into h

  • Love in the Headlines    I don't mind

REIGN'S POV “Let me do it for you,” I sighed and handed Ivan the orange juice I was trying to open. I have heard those six words so many times these past few days that I had gone numb to it.“I can do it myself, you know,” I said as I collected it back from him. I hummed as I took a sip. Good stuff.“I know but I want to do it for you. The doctor said you need absolute rest,” he argued as he took his seat once again beside me.“I'm sure opening a bottle of orange juice won't tire me out but thank you,” I chuckled, causing some of the juice to slip down the right side of my lips. Before I could clean it myself, Ivan reached up and swiped it clean. But that was not the shocking part. He brought his thumb up to his mouth and sucked it.My mouth fell open as I gulped. That was hot.“Erm, thank you,” I looked away, cleaning my mouth again. “Have you seen Mel or Christian today?” He asked. I knew he was trying to make small talk because of the sudden awkwardness but I went along with it.
