RONALD

It has not been a walk in the park working with Jeffrey. Of course he is good at his job, but that is not the only thing he was good at.

I’ve woken up almost every morning since then with a hard on from me having sexual dreams with him, only to see him at the office completely clueless of the hold he has on me.

“Sir the meeting with the partners would start in 15 minutes.” Jeffrey said as he entered my office.

I raised a brow “Sir? How did we go from Ronald to Sir?”

“Well, technically, you’re my boss. So?”

I rubbed my forehead. He was totally determined to make what is between us strictly business. “You don’t have to do that Jeffrey.”

“I don’t want to get too familiar.” He said standing nervously close to the door.

I scoffed, he always comes up with new things. Just to push me further away. I picked up my tab and walked towards him. “Why is that, Jeffrey?”

I didn’t let him speak closing in on him. “Is it because of the way you might feel if you do? Is it because you might find it harder to keep it as just business?”

“N-no. It has nothing to do with that.” He said holding my gaze, he moved back as I came closer to him. Step by step till his back hit the door.

I didn’t stop till I was only a breath away from him. “Talk to me Jeffrey.”

He gulped taking his eyes to look at anything else but me...

I stared at his eyes imaging the nasty things being this close to him made me think of. I wanted to bring my dreams to reality with him, but I couldn’t force him.

My hands slid beside his waist and reached for the door knob. “Excuse me Jeffrey, I have a meeting to attend to.”

I nodded my head listening to what the men in suit were pitching. I took a quick glance at Jeffrey and caught him as he averted his gaze, pretending to focus.

A small smile flashed at the corner of my lips, he had been quiet since we left the office. I sighed, wondering if he actually meant it thinking he wasn’t into men when he acted this way around me. When he enjoyed it that night so much.

My secretary came to meet me when the meeting ended. “Sir, your flight is ready.”

“Have you informed Jeffrey?”

“No sir, I’d let him know sir.”

“He doesn’t have to get anything ready, everything he needs would be taken care of.”

“Yes sir.” She closed the door behind her as she left.

It wasn’t up to two minutes, Jeffrey knocked. “You could have told me earlier.” He said immediately he got in.

“Told you what?”

“Don’t play dumb. You could’ve told me about the flight.” He put his hands in his pocket to act all tough.

“Sometimes, I think you just find any excuse to show up in my office.” I closed my laptop to focus on him. He raised a brow at me.

“It skipped my mind, but we have to check out the company we are buying today. We might also be there for three days.”

“Three days?”

“Yes, meet me on the rooftop helipad in an hour.”

Jeffrey sighed. “I’m guessing I don’t have any say on that.”

“You can say what you want, but nothing changes.”

He opened his mouth to speak but he didn’t. He just rolled his eyes and left.

JEFFREY

I folded my arms and scooted away from Ronald, I don’t know what it was but he made me angry. I took a deep breath. I shouldn’t let him affect my energy.

I looked outside the helicopter window and took in the view below me. It was beautiful.

It wasn’t long before the helicopter landed on a field. We alighted and walked toward a building. His guards trailing slowly behind us.

“Welcome sirs.” A man and lady greeted as we came in.

“Thank you.” Ronald responded and turned to look at me. “Make yourself comfortable... you should rest for the meeting tomorrow.”

“Where should I stay?” my voice came out more politely than intended.

“The maid would show you to your room.” He signaled to the lady, she nodded as she directed me.

The room was... exactly to my taste, from the bed frame design to the sheets. I wondered if he had thought this through or it was just a coincidence. I walked in the closet to find a couple of suits and casual outfits. They were only the brand I wore.

Did he really put much thought to this?

I decided to freshen up and change.

The bath was relaxing, I hung a towel over my neck and stepped out of the bathroom. I screamed when I saw Ronald in the room and quickly used the towel to cover my dick.

“What the fuck man?” I shouted.

He acted like nothing weird just happened. “I wanted to confirm if everything was to your liking?”

“It is, now can I have some privacy?”

“Why?” he asked his voice dangerously low, he was obviously enjoying this. “You have a problem dressing up in front of guys? I wonder why.”

“Ronald, don’t do this right now.” I said ignoring him and walked into the closet. I felt him follow behind me, I turned to face him. “Ronald stop.”

He didn’t, he kept coming closer. His eyes were dark and alluring. “I’m trying… but you are so hard to resist Jeffrey.”

The way he called my name twisted something in me. “Stop Ronald. I’m not fucking interested in that.” I said moving further away from him.

“Are you lying to me or yourself?” he asked as he closed the distance between us. This was the second time he tried to push me in this position, and deep down, I hated how little I fought it. I wasn’t trying enough to get out of it. I clutched my towel closer to myself.

He leaned in and brought his lips towards mine. I could feel his breathe on me. His scent.

I closed my eyes as my body anticipated what would come next.

  • Love is War: But I'd bleed for you   Chapter 67: Jeffrey Must Not Know

THIRD PERSON POV Ronald sat stiffly in the backseat of the car, staring out the window but not really seeing anything. His father’s ridiculous announcement still echoed in his head. A second son, like it was just a casual transaction that occured. He scoffed under his breath and rubbed a hand across his jaw.His phone vibrated on the seat beside him. He glanced at the screen, and froze.Kyla.He stared at the name for a long second, with an unreadable expression. Her timing was always just exquisite. Wasn't she supposed to be missing? His thumb hovered for a bit, then he finally answered.“Kyla,” he said flatly. Her voice came through immediately. It was tight, breathless, slightly panicked. “Ronald, we need to see. I have to talk to you.”He narrowed his eyes. “Why? So you can drive the dagger deeper? Or twist it this time?”“No. No… it’s not like that,” she said quickly. “Please. I’ll explain everything when we meet. I need your help.”That caught him off guard. His help? What now

  • Love is War: But I'd bleed for you   Chapter 66: Just An Act

THIRD PERSON POVKyla walked into Scar’s office and stood silently in front of his desk with her arms crossed. Her clothes were rumpled and stained from the act to look like she had barely survived. Scar looked up from the file he was reading, and for a moment, genuine shock flickered across his face. But it vanished quickly, replaced by a cold fury.“Kyla. Where the hell have you been?” he snapped, rising halfway from his seat. Then, catching himself, he sank back down and exhaled slowly. His voice was low and measured. “Do you have the stamp?”Kyla blinked at him. “Wow,” she said flatly. “Not even a ‘are you okay’? Or ‘glad you’re not dead’?”Scar raised a brow. “Do you have the stamp, Kyla?”She shook her head. “No.”The sound of Scar’s palm slamming against the table cracked through the room.“What do you mean no?” he barked. “Where the fuck have you been then?”Kyla inhaled, slow and heavily. “That’s what I am trying to tell you. I got kidnapped.”Scar’s eyes narrowed but he did

  • Love is War: But I'd bleed for you   Chapter 65: Fucking Brothers

THIRD PERSON POV Before anyone could fully process the weight of Astor’s announcement, Silver stood up. The sharp sound of her hand against his face echoed through the lounge. Astor’s head jerked slightly from the force, but he didn’t react. His posture remained composed, even as the sting bloomed across his cheek. “How dare you?” Silver’s voice trembled, not with weakness, but fury restrained just enough to keep her from going crazy. “Where… where on earth, did you find the audacity to bring him in here? Weren’t your actions back then enough? Are you trying to fucking destroy me?” Her chest rose and fell as silence swept across the room. For Ronald, the entire moment felt like a familiar memory from the past. Like he was a kid again, watching his parents tear each other apart in rooms just like this. He had always known his father once had a mistress, but he’d never imagined a child came from it. And Silver, his mother, had once grown so sick, so fragile that at a point,

  • Love is War: But I'd bleed for you   Chapter 64: Second Son

THIRD PERSON POV Kyla walked up to Jules and stopped beside him. Her arms folded loosely as she glanced at his profile. He was calm but tensed, like a storm brewed beneath his skull.“What are you thinking about?” she asked, in a low voice.Jules didn’t look at her right away. His eyes stayed fixed on something invisible in the distance, as though the thoughts in his head were heavier than the world around him.“I want to end every fucking thing,” he said finally. “Whoever the boss is, I don’t care. I want him gone. I don’t care if I have to die to do it.”Kyla let out a slow breath and tilted her head back, her eyes tracing the metal patterns on the ceiling. It was old, worn, and oddly familiar.“Do you mean that?” she asked.Jules turned to face her. His gaze locked with hers, and for a moment, nothing else mattered.“Well, I’m already dead,” he said.Kyla didn’t look away. Something flickered in his eyes, something she had not seen in years but had never truly forgotten. His pain

  • Love is War: But I'd bleed for you   Chapter 63: Funny Games

THIRD PERSON POVJeffrey stepped into Ronald’s office just after sunrise, the city still wrapped in early morning silence. The building was quiet, most of the staff not yet in, and the light filtering through the tall windows gave the office a cool, muted glow.He had only managed a cup of coffee with little food and no sleep. His mind had refused to rest for even a second. There was no use calling Kyla, he knew exactly where her phone was. And Ronald… he couldn't bring himself to face Ronald. Not after everything that had happened that night. Not after the accusations, and the fury in his eyes for something he had no idea about.Thankfully, Ronald had a meeting with his father this morning. That would buy Jeffrey some time. He wasn’t sure what he was going to do with it, but standing still wasn’t helping. The wedding was in three days. Whatever this mess was building up to, he hoped desperately, that Kyla knew what she was doing. He let out a slow breath as he walked further into the

  • Love is War: But I'd bleed for you   Chapter 62: Kyla’s Secret Lover

THIRD PERSON POV Jules held the burner phone tightly against his ear, his tone was calm and intentional.“We have Kyla,” he said. There was a pause.“Listen very carefully. Don’t try to look for her. Don’t make a fuss about it either. And most importantly…” He glanced toward Kyla, still tied to the chair across the room. “Ensure that the wedding preparations go on as planned.”With that, he ended the call and dropped the phone onto the metal table beside him. Then he raised his hand in the air with a flourish, like a magician completing a trick.“See?” he said with a satisfied smirk. “All done.”Across the room, Kyla sat still in the chair, her body was stiff but her eyes remained sharp. She shook her head slowly, a mixture of disbelief and irritation swimming in her gaze. “You have no idea what you’re doing.”Jules turned back toward her, his jaw tightening slightly. “I know exactly what I’m doing,” he said. “I’m taking everything from Scar. One piece at a time.”Kyla's voice was ca
