~Mia’s POV~

I met Robert at the dining table already eating. He had asked me to come down and eat, but clearly hadn’t bothered to wait for me. He’d changed into casual wear—I guessed he wasn’t going to work today.

"How was your business trip to Los Angeles?" I asked, trying to start a conversation.

"It went well," he said, not even glancing up.

"Ma’am, what would you like for brunch?" the cook asked politely.

"Just make me some Greenland noodles—it’s almost lunchtime anyway," I replied.

"Yes, ma’am," she said, then walked out.

"Hope you're feeling better," Robert asked, still not looking at me.

"Yes, I am," I said shortly, not wanting to probe into his space anymore.

"Sorry I didn’t call. I was caught off guard too—by my father," he said, wiping his lips.

"I might have accepted your apology if it came from a more welcoming face," I said coldly, shooting him a pointed glare.

He smiled—oddly. There was something mischievous in it, something I couldn’t place.

  • The mysterious Billionaire's Wife; a lost heiress.   036: A Taste of Teenage

~ Mia’s POV~I got fed up with everything happening that same day. After storming out of the house in anger, I walked right into a heated scene at the reception desk where Mr. Silver was causing chaos.“Are you stupid? Get me Mr. James, you fool!” he yelled, banging the counter as the young lady at the front desk flinched.“Sir, please calm down. Mr. James isn’t in the office right now, but you can book an appointment with him,” she explained politely. But his anger only escalated. He slapped her.She staggered back, pain flashing across her face, anger surging through her expression. I rushed over to defuse the situation.“Stop harassing her, or I’ll sue you for workplace harassment,” I threatened the sixty-something-year-old man. He looked far too old to be acting this immature and disrespectful.“You? Robert’s wife, right?” he asked, glaring.“Yes. I’m glad you know who I am. So, you should know I’m not bluffing,” I said, standing tall and confident.“It seems Robert is teaching yo

  • The mysterious Billionaire's Wife; a lost heiress.   035: Divorce me

~ Robert’s POV~The office was buzzing with tension as JR Company was officially inducted into the board of directors. Calls came in nonstop—journalists digging for the secret behind how we toppled Glass Wares Company from a position they had only just secured. But none of that mattered to me.James was finally back.I knocked twice before entering his office. He sat upright now, strong enough to move around without the nurse, though she still handled his meals and monitored his vitals.“Come in,” his voice rang out, composed and clear.I stepped inside with files in hand. “Have you made the necessary press arrangements?”“Yes, Father. Though a few board members still oppose the motion.”“What about Alex—the Glass Wares heir?”“He’s been silent. My lawyer’s finalizing the name change and all legal processes.”James exhaled in relief. “Good. I don’t want anyone challenging this or trying to undo what’s already been done.”“That won’t happen. Before I ever stepped into that bet, my lawy

  • The mysterious Billionaire's Wife; a lost heiress.   034: It turned out Bad

~Mia's POV~The doorknob twisted and opened before I could reach it, and Robert walked in with a tray in his hands. It seemed he had prepared the spaghetti himself. I had forgotten I left my cooking halfway because I was angry.I sat up, glancing at him as he walked over to my bed."I brought your food," he said gently, placing the tray down."I lost my appetite," I mumbled, but my stomach betrayed me, letting out a loud grumble as the aroma of the meal hit my nose."Hmm, it seems your stomach is saying otherwise," he replied with a small smile.I turned my head in embarrassment. Why would my stomach choose today, of all days, to contradict me?"Here, I prepared this myself. I came to your room earlier, but you were so busy with work and Zoom meetings that I didn’t want to disturb you."I was surprised. Robert had come to my room? Was I so engrossed in work that I didn’t notice?"I overheard your conversation during the meetings. Are you going to Los Angeles?" Robert asked curiously.

  • The mysterious Billionaire's Wife; a lost heiress.   032: Pissed

~Mia’s POV~I woke up the next morning with my head pounding severely. Every movement felt like a war—I was heavy, tired, and dizzy. I didn’t realize I had drunk so much. But thinking back, last night had been fun-filled.We had gone out for a group dinner—Jake’s idea, of course. He sure knew how to bring people together. Since I joined the team, I couldn’t remember a single outing to celebrate even the smallest wins. Jake made even the most insignificant things feel important. It had been a good night—grilled beef cooked on the spot, liquor flowing, games and laughter echoing. I was still reminiscing about the evening when a knock came at the door."Yes, you can come in," I called out.It was one of the maids who cleaned my room. Her eyes were low, her tone always respectful—trained not to look us in the eyes."Good morning, ma’am. I’m sorry to have woken you," she said, slightly bowing."I was already awake before you came. So, go on—what brings you here? Do you want to clean? Well,

  • The mysterious Billionaire's Wife; a lost heiress.   031 : A Trade of Interest

~Robert's POV~"I object!" I shouted at the panel. "He can't just change the reward of this game. I can't bid more than the original stake!"Alex laughed—loud and hard. "Seems you're scared, Robert. I thought you were unbeatable at this game," he sneered, his glare sharp."I don't care! I still object to this!" I yelled, though my voice betrayed a hint of fear."Robert," he said, smug and unbothered, "I called this game. I have the right to change the reward. Think about it—I’m being generous. You get the money and *my* position."He laughed again, like a lunatic."Then if you win," I asked, "what do I stake?""Simple," he replied coldly. "I take all your shares. After all, you’re just an adopted child.”His words were meant to provoke—and they did.“Then I see no reason to continue this game. It’s over... I opt out,” I said and stood up.“You can’t walk away, Robert. If you forfeit, you’ll have to pay twice the stake. Imagine how much five hundred grand will cost you.”“At least it w
