Chapter 128

Hannah entered the station with eyes full of tears. Her hands were cuffed and she was being treated as a criminal. That was the one thing she didn’t want. As soon as the officers sat her down on a chair to interrogate her, she said.

“I’d like to make a phone call.” The officer looked at her and sighed.

“If it’s your lawyer you want to speak to, you are permitted to do that.” He said. “Do you want to speak to your lawyer?”

She nodded immediately, cleaning her tears. “Yes. I’d like to speak with my lawyer.”

The officer nodded and brought the station landline for her. A frown appeared on her face as she looked at the phone. “I have my own phone.” She said. “I’d like to use my own phone.”

“No, Ma’am.” The officer shook his head. “You have to use the landline. You can copy the number from your phone but, I can’t allow you to use your phone.” He replied adamantly, showing no signs of giving in.

She sighed and nodded reluctantly. “Fine.” She huffed. “I’ll use the landline.” She grabbed her p
