I rushed out of the maid's quarter where I had just dressed after bathing. I had completed all of my tasks for the day and was about to take a nap when I heard Mrs Thompson calling out for me.
“ Yes ma'am. You called me_____” I called out breathlessly as I walked down the stairs but paused as soon as I saw Victor standing beside her with a smile on his face. I glared at him and averted my gaze. The nerve of him, after disappearing all morning only for him to show up now with a smile on his face.
“ Miss Williams, thank you for cleaning my room. '' Both Mrs Thompson and I turned to stare at him in shock with our mouths slightly open. I was shocked to hear him calling me so formally. Tsk! He shouldn't be so suspicious?
