CHAPTER 32

“I swear,” Dorian muttered as he stepped into the kitchen, shirtless and cranky, “that party was a fucking disaster. There are three bodies outside. Three.”

Kai, seated cross-legged on the counter, yawned dramatically. “Oh please, three’s nothing. Remember the New Moon Bash? Ten bodies. And two were still twitching.”

Dorian scowled. “This isn’t a competition, Kai.”

“I mean, if it was, you’d still lose,” Kai quipped with a wink.

Lucian entered silently, dressed in black from head to toe, eyes sharp and unreadable. He moved toward the window, looking out.

Elias followed, rubbing his eyes, hair a mess. “Morning,” he muttered, stretching.

Dorian turned toward him, gesturing outside. “What the hell am I supposed to tell the Council if they show up?

Lucian raised a single hand and snapped his fingers.

Outside, the morning fog suddenly shifted into thin trails of black smoke rising from the corpses. The stench of char and magic drifted faintly through the air.

Elias blinked, star

CHAPTER 133Something cracked.A soft sound at first, like glass being tapped by a nail. But then it spread—deep and sharp—through the world, through the sky, through the heavens.Crack.Crack.Crack.Nihareth stood at the edge of the Gate of Dawn, a massive glowing arch made of pure divine crystal. It shimmered in white and gold, humming with the energy of the gods. His long cloak billowed behind him. Black mist moved with his steps. Around him, his cult stood silently—hooded, faceless, loyal. He reached out and placed one hand on the gate. The surface rippled under his fingers.“So soft now,” he whispered. “So weak.”One of the corrupted demigods behind him stepped forward. “Shall we begin?”Nihareth smiled faintly. “Yes. Begin.”He pressed both hands against the gate and began to chant. The ground shook. The light dimmed.A crack snapped across the pillar. The Gate of Dawn, once beautiful and holy, began to bleed.Black veins crawled across its body like rot spreading through a tre

CHAPTER 132“We’re ready,” Dorian said, stepping forward, his boots crunching over blackened earth.Elias stood at the edge of the cliff, golden eyes glowing faintly. His cloak fluttered behind him in the wind. “How many?”“Thousands,” Lucian said from beside him. “All under your command. They await your word.”Kairis walked up, brushing her silver hair behind one ear. “Cerberus is chained, waiting. The beast is restless.”“He’ll fight when it’s time,” Elias said calmly.Kai appeared behind her, his arm bandaged but his posture strong. “The vampires are aligned. They bow only to you now.”Elias didn’t speak for a moment. His gaze swept over the land below, where tents and outposts stretched across the dark fields. Fires burned low. The air smelled of ash and power.“It’s really happening,” he murmured.Lucian turned toward him. “It is. And they trust you, Elias. All of them.”Shadow-born warriors, covered in swirling dark runes, stood silently around the field. The army from hell—horn

CHAPTER 131“They saw him,” one of the robed men said, slamming a dusty scroll onto the table. “The boy. In the sky. Golden wings.”Another nodded, eyes wide. “The people think he's a god returned. No—the god returned. They bow already.”A silence fell over the chamber. The stone walls of the Holy Order’s meeting room trembled faintly as news traveled fast. Whispers of Valarieth were spreading like wildfire.“Then let him lead the frontlines,” the eldest among them said. “Let them see him. Let them follow him.”A younger priest frowned. “You mean to use him. What if we lose him?”“If we don’t use him,” the elder snapped, “we lose everything. He can be our rallying cry. Or our shield.”“Or our sacrifice,” someone muttered. The elder didn’t deny it.A loud clang echoed through the room. A blinding golden light cut through the ceiling as a divine messenger descended. Cloaked in flowing white, eyes like fire, the being stepped forward.“Amaria sends her word,” the messenger said, voice ri

CHAPTER 130The chamber was deep beneath the Hall of Ascendancy—an ancient room untouched by light, bound by protective sigils and celestial locks that pulsed faintly along the curved stone walls. Only three beings could access it. And tonight, all three were already there.Cassiel paced slowly, his golden robes flickering with residual power, tension rolling off him in quiet waves. Erelah leaned against the far pillar, arms crossed, eyes narrowed. “This room hasn't been used in a thousand years,” he muttered.“Appropriate, then,” Raziel replied, his voice low. “Because what we’re about to discuss is treason. Even by divine standards.”Cassiel turned sharply. “It’s survival.”Silence pulsed.“He was here,” Erelah whispered, her tone brittle. “He sat in the chair at the head of the Hall like he never left..”Raziel’s lips tightened. “And he greeted us all—except us. Not once did he meet our eyes.”“He remembers something,” Cassiel said. “Maybe not all. But enough to know we’re the one

CHAPTER 129 Amaria stood at the head, radiating quiet authority as she addressed the room.“We need confirmation. If Valarieth truly sits among us again, then every action we take from now on must anticipate his hand in the outcome. There will be no neutral ground.”A young scribe near the back shifted uncomfortably, his golden quill trembling slightly. He raised his hand.Amaria’s eyes snapped to him instantly.“Speak.”The scribe hesitated. “I—uh—I was tasked to deliver this from the Luthien branch of the divine scouts. It contains recent movement data on the lower circles.”Amaria didn’t blink. “Did you now?”He nodded. “Yes, Mother Amaria.”Her voice went still. “The Luthien scouts don’t use scrolls anymore. They switched to memory gems a week ago.”The entire hall froze. The scribe’s form shimmered, flickering. His smile faltered.A heartbeat passed. Then Amaria’s hand lifted, glowing with golden fire.“No second chances.”Before anyone could speak, she flicked her wrist—light s

  • Lucian's Undoing    CHAPTER 128

CHAPTER 128The sun broke gently over the horizon, but the air was sharp with tension.Lucian stood on the dewy grass, blade in hand, shirt tossed over a tree branch. He hadn’t spoken much all morning. His face was tight, his jaw locked. Kairis had asked if he was alright. He wasn’t.He hadn’t slept. Not really. The dreams lingered like smoke—flashes of golden eyes and a betrayal he couldn’t name.So when Elias stepped out into the yard, stretching lazily and looking at him with those knowing eyes, Lucian already knew what was coming.“You look like you need to hit something,” Elias said casually.Lucian snorted. “And you volunteered yourself?”“I’m generous like that.”Lucian didn’t smile.Elias paused, then tilted his head. “Come on. Spar with me.”Lucian hesitated. “You sure?”“You asking if I can take you?”Lucian rolled his shoulders. “No. Asking if you can take me today.”Elias gave a sharp grin. “Try me.”They moved into position. No crowd. No fanfare. Just the two of them, bar
