CHAPTER 83

The library was silent, lit by a low golden glow from the chandelier. Elias stood in the center, eyes scanning the tall shelves with growing frustration. His fingers trailed along the spines—ancient texts, godly records, myths, prophecies… nothing. Not a single mention.

He dropped into a chair and opened another thick tome. Still nothing. No Valarieth. No reference. Not even a whisper.

“How can a name that loud just vanish?” he muttered, slamming the book shut.

The whisper of that memory still clung to him—robes, marble, Selene. And Amaria’s voice, clear and scolding. Behave like a god for once.

He stood abruptly and headed downstairs.

The others were in the lounge. Kai and Dorian curled together on the couch, Lucian perched on the armrest, his eyes flicking up the moment Elias stepped into view. Kairis stood by the window, arms folded, a fresh cup of tea in her hand as if nothing fazed her—even the recent massacre.

Elias cleared his throat. “Hey.”

Everyone turned to him.

CHAPTER 84Dorian stood near the center of the room, a parchment gripped tightly in his hand. “He’s sent a message.”Everyone looked up.Kai rose from where he’d been slouched on the couch, tension flickering through his frame. “Who?”Dorian unfolded the paper. “Alistair.”Lucian tensed instantly. “What does he want?”Dorian's gaze flicked to Elias briefly. “A meeting. Neutral ground. He’s invited us to the ruined cathedral in Draegmoor Vale.”Lucian scoffed. “Neutral, my ass. That place is cursed.”Kairis, sipping blood tea in the corner, smiled faintly. “Fitting for a monster.”Elias straightened. “When?”Dorian handed him the parchment. “Tonight. Within the hour.”“No,” Lucian said immediately. “You’re not going.”Elias blinked. “Excuse me?”“You heard me,” Lucian snapped. “It’s too dangerous. You’re still recovering from what happened with the Holy Order. If he wants to talk, we go. You stay.”Elias stepped closer. “Lucian. That message was meant for me.”Kai interjected, “He didn

CHAPTER 82The bathroom was quiet.Steam curled from the tiled floor and fogged up the wide mirror. Elias sat on the edge of the tub, hands limp at his sides, blood drying in thin patterns on his arms and chest. It was their blood — the emissaries. The fools who came with holy daggers and warnings and left in pieces. His eyes were glassy as he stood, stripped off his ruined clothes, and stepped into the shower. Water blasted over him, red spiraling down the drain. He tilted his head back.He couldn’t feel it. Not the warmth. Not the sting of soap. Not even the aftermath of what he’d done. The pressure built first behind his eyes — a throbbing pain, dull and low. Then it bloomed sharp and fast across his skull. He hissed, gripping the edge of the wall as his knees buckled.“Shit—”The pain seared through him like fire licking his brain. Then it cracked open.Suddenly, the water was gone.He stood on marble, vast and golden, under a sky the color of dusk. Pillars rose around him in perf

CHAPTER 81The scent of blood thickened the air.Kairis stepped into the sitting room, eyes dragging over the crimson splatter that painted the floor, the walls, the curtains. The corpses were still warm, twitching faintly as post-mortem nerve endings fired their last jolts. She crouched by the closest one, white-gold armor now stained deep red, helm cracked from the force Elias had used to crush his skull inward. A clean kill, really. Efficient.Martha stood at the edge of the room, wringing her hands, her face pale. She looked like she might faint.“Please don’t scream,” Kairis said without looking up. “It’s just blood.”Martha squeaked and backed further into the hall, pressing a hand over her mouth.Kairis hummed under her breath and leaned in, pushing the guard’s cloak aside to inspect the sigil stitched onto his inner vest. “Holy Order. Low-ranking. Probably new blood sent in to earn favor.”She shifted to the next one, dragging her fingers through the blood pooling beneath his

CHAPTER 80The moment the wards flared and broke like snapping glass threads, Kairis vanished. It wasn’t dramatic. One blink, she was seated with her tea. The next, she was gone — just the faint crackle of displaced air and a gust of wind rustling the curtains. A heartbeat later, Kai and Dorian sprinted after her, their expressions taut with urgency.Lucian hesitated only for a breath, his eyes flicking toward Elias, but Kairis’s sharp cry of “Now!” echoed from the courtyard. He bolted. And just like that, Elias was alone.Elias moved toward the window, sensing something… wrong. The air had shifted. Then came the knock. Three crisp raps on the door.Martha moved before he could stop her.“I’ll get it, my lord,” she said kindly, smoothing her apron.Elias followed her into the sitting room, his steps light and quiet. He stopped just behind the archway as Martha opened the grand doors.A man stood there, cloaked in white and gold, face veiled under a glowing helm. Behind him, two other

The morning was quiet.Sunlight streamed through the high windows of Dorian’s estate, casting long streaks across the polished marble floor. The scent of freshly brewed tea wafted through the air, subtle and refined.Kairis sat alone in the sitting room, her posture perfect, back straight as a blade. She sipped delicately from an antique porcelain cup, her silver eyes fixed on the horizon through the open window. Her robes, sharp and immaculately pressed, glimmered faintly in the light.Footsteps echoed.Elias walked in, freshly showered, his white shirt loose at the collar. His gaze slid past her without hesitation as he made his way to the teapot, unbothered by the figure radiating cold elegance across the room.Kairis’s lips curved slightly. “How charming. The boy doesn’t greet his elders.”Elias calmly poured hot water into a second cup. “Didn’t realize you wanted conversation.”“Few things bore me more,” she murmured. “Still, manners exist for a reason.”He turned, meeting her ey

CHAPTER 78The moment the arcane symbols shimmered back to life across the perimeter of the room, Kai turned to Dorian with a wicked little grin.“There,” he said, brushing hair off his sweaty forehead. “Now Her Majesty can meditate in peace.”Dorian was still sprawled on the bed, breathing heavy, flushed from their last round—and half-hard again. He raised a brow at Kai. “You’re the one who insisted on putting it back up. I thought you were satisfied.”Kai stepped forward slowly, something in his gaze darker now. Hungrier. “I said I felt better,” he murmured, climbing onto the bed and over Dorian’s body, “not that I was done.”Dorian opened his mouth to reply, but Kai kissed him instead. Slow. Languid. Tongue brushing against his with practiced ease. Then Kai started moving down—teeth grazing Dorian’s throat, nipping at his collarbone.“Kai…” Dorian’s voice was hoarse, wary. “What are you—”“I want you to relax,” Kai murmured, tracing a wet line down Dorian’s chest with his tongue. “

CHAPTER 77Steam curled in lazy spirals from the bathroom as Dorian stepped into his bedroom, towel slung low on his hips, damp curls clinging to his forehead. He hadn’t even taken two full steps before Kai launched at him—literally jumped—legs wrapping around his waist, arms locking around his shoulders.“Kai—”Kai kissed him mid-protest, tongue pushing past his lips with the kind of hunger that made Dorian stumble. The towel dropped. Dorian caught him under the thighs automatically, gripping his bare skin.“You’re insatiable,” Dorian muttered against Kai’s mouth, but he didn’t stop him. Couldn’t. Not when Kai was already grinding shamelessly against him, already moaning like he needed this like breath.“She’s sleeping,” Kai whispered, teeth grazing Dorian’s jaw. “And I need you.”Dorian groaned, stumbling back toward the bed, his knees hitting it. Kai didn’t wait—he shoved him back, straddling him in one fluid move, grinding down against Dorian’s half-hard cock. They were both naked

  • Lucian's Undoing    CHAPTER 76

CHAPTER 76Tea had been set in the eastern sitting room. The staff moved swiftly—almost reverently—laying out the finest porcelain and honey-glazed pastries without being asked. The manor knew fear when it walked through the door.Kairis lounged like she owned the estate, slender fingers coiled around a cup of spiced tea, her gaze drifting lazily over the others like she was examining flawed gemstones.“I must say, Kai,” she murmured, stirring her tea without ever looking down, “you’ve surrounded yourself with quite the eclectic collection.”“I call it a found family,” Kai mumbled from the couch, tucked halfway behind Dorian like a child hiding behind his mother.Kairis didn’t acknowledge the comment. She set her spoon down with a quiet clink, and her eyes—those piercing, emotionless orbs the exact same shade as Kai’s—slid to Elias.“You’re very calm, considering everyone else looks ready to leap in front of you like a bodyguard.”Elias didn’t flinch. “Should I not be?”Lucian shifted
