Chapter 16: Fates be Damned

Michael, Lana and I do not waste a moment getting to Santorini. It’s deep into the night when we reach the city center. I look around the starless sky before taking my mate’s hand and leading her toward a nearby street. Santorini is a beautiful city. With its ancient visage and cobblestone streets, you can get lost in its historical vibe. We look around the dimly lit streets and search the shadows.
“Do you know where we are supposed to meet the fate?” Michael asks.
I shake my head, “No, we were only able to guess on her proximity.”
He arches a sardonic brow, “She can be anywhere, frère.”

Lucifer I look at Lana and can’t help but feel that something is off. Though we made love and held each other, I feel that I made a misstep when we spoke. I don’t know why, but I think my answer when she asked me if I cared for her was not the response she was expecting. Lana I scream in my head as Apolliana raises her hand and pushes power into Michael and Rafel. Both males fly back as if struck and slide across the floor. Lucifer grips me tightly, but I let my power cover him until his hold begins to loosen. Unfortunately, Apolliana uses his affection for me to her advantage because I know that he’s holding back from hurting us. His eyes glow fiery as he tries to fight me without doing me any harm, but Apolliana is too powerful. Lucifer Lana’s form wavers before me as she watches her sister begin to plummet. I try to reach Fallon and Bree, but The Creator pulls them away. To my surprise, Lana catches Bree before she could fall and flies her to a safer spot. Lucifer “No!” I cry out as I watch the love of my life stab herself in the heart and plunge into The Creator’s seal. Despair fills me as I rush to the chasm, but I know I will not get there in time. Bursts of light erupt around me, nearly blinding me as The Creator shatters to pieces like broken glass and is sucked into the void.
