There was a tension in the air that was thick enough to be sliced through with a kitchen knife. Clary was very uncomfortable and embarrassed. She just really wanted to leave so she could get back to the festival, but no, she was stuck in the ballroom.
Clary had already had a life of pain and drama, all she wanted was something different. She wanted a happily ever after. She felt like she at least deserved that; like she at least deserved a break from her hard life of misery and darkness.
But there she was, in a situation where her mate had to be a married man! And not just any married man, but the Alpha of the pack! Fate was playing a very sick game that was not fair at all.
And now that the Luna knew, it was all way too complicated. All Clary wanted to do was what she did the best: run. She was itching to just run away from all this.
“Should I take your silence as a yes?” Selena asked Ace in a hard tone. She did not even want to take a look at Clary, she felt insulted that her husband would even consider the omega his mate. It was like a statement, saying that he had a bad choice in women.
“I’m not rejecting her,” Ace replied to her, standing by his word. “And I am certainly not changing my mind. So you know what, Selena, do your worse. Make a scene for all I care,” He challenged her.
It was something that he barely did because, to be honest, he was a bit scared of her.
Selena nodded and swallowed. She chuckled without humor and touched the tips of her hair before speaking, “Alight. But first, let’s ask the omega. I want to know her thoughts.” She turned her attention to Clary and stared at her in mild disgust.
“I just want to go back to the festival,” Clary said in a shy voice. She was no longer crying but her heart felt heavy. “I don’t care about whatever mate bond that Ace may think that we have. I just want to leave this room.”
Selena was pleasantly taken aback. She did not expect that from the omega. She had had to deal with a lot of women and girls who were obsessed with Ace, but Clary was truly different. She could tell that the omega liked her husband, but she was pushing aside her emotions.
She turned to Ace. “You see? Let the poor girl leave. She only wants to enjoy the festival.” She chuckled lightly.
“Clary, what are you doing?” Ace asked in a sad tone. “You feel what I feel. You know that we’re mates. So why are you resisting?”
Clary felt a tug on her heart but she did not want any more drama. She had enough of her own in her ordinary life. “May I leave, please?” She asked as she peeled her eyes off the Alpha.
Her wolf was still dormant even though she was eighteen. But she could sometimes hear him or even feel what he was feeling at times. She had named him Silence, because, since she became of age, he was mostly silent.
She could feel great sadness in her and her wolf was fighting against her decision to leave. But still, it barely spoke to her.
“Clary…” Ace stepped in her direction but Selena was not going to let that happen.
“Come on, darling. In fact, I will take you out.” She walked past her husband and gestured for Clary to take her hand.
Clary was tentative but she did. She took Selena’s hand and was led out of the ballroom, down the hall, and to the back of the house. Then they came to a stop.
“Thank you for helping me in there,” Clary extended her gratitude but was soon put in her place.
The Luna laughed in her face and asked, “You really think that I would help you? A girl that wants to steal my man? Girl, bye!” She scoffed rudely before rolling her ocean-blue eyes.
“I was not trying to steal…” Clary was not even given the opportunity to complete her sentence.
“Blah, blah, blah. That’s what they all say. Now, get out of here. The guard would take you straight out of the compound.” Selena gestured to the buff guy that soon appeared.
“But–but the Moon Festival. I still want to attend it,” Clary said as she glanced at the buff guard and back at Selena.
“No, darling. You messed up that opportunity when you decided to make a move on my husband.” She then looked at the guard and ordered him, “Get her out of my compound. And if she comes back, have her arrested.”
Clary was shocked.
She had always looked up to Selena. She saw her as the perfect Luna. She saw her as someone that she aspired to be. So it was like she was hit in the face with a bag of bricks when she saw what Selena was really like.
“Let’s get going, pretty lady,” The guard grabbed Clary’s arm and started to push her away.
“Okay, okay, I’m walking. Let me go,” She said in a pinched tone at the guard. As she walked away towards the exit at the back of the compound, she glanced back and saw Selena watching with a look of satisfaction on her face.
“Come on, keep walking,” The guard said in a hard tone as he pushed the omega once more.
Clary felt a knot in her throat and tears threatened to spill from her eyes. But she refused to cry. It was her fault that she had hope. It was her fault that she did not expect to be disappointed. It was her fault that she did not expect pain.
It was her fault that she thought that she could be like the other girls that had perfect lives.
When she walked out of the compound, the cold air of the night was the first to greet her. She had never felt so alone. She had literally missed the opportunity to change her life.
Now she had to wait another year to even try again. It sucked but what sucked, even more, was the fact that she had to go back home to her drunk dad who wanted to kill her.
*This should be a free chapter. Do not unlock the previous one, please!* Hey there, First of all, I want to say thank you to all who read this book. I am so very grateful for the time, gems, comments, reviews, and as well financial support. I enjoyed writing this book. Yeah, I had to juggle my social life, school, and taking care of myself and my nephews in a foreign country but nevertheless, it was a beautiful and emotional ride. Some may not be satisfied with how the storyline flowed, but most of you loved the book, and that makes me happy! There might be a possibility for book two. But that’s a “Might”. But for now, it’s a farewell from Alpha Ace and Luna Clary! Please, please, please write reviews and vote gems for the book if you’d like, it helps the book get more exposure and I would really appreciate it. Thanks. Big love to you all! But Jesus loves you more! :)

It was a year later and Clary was getting ready for the Moon Festival. It was at night and she was in the makeup room and had so many people attending to her. She was almost ready and her makeup was even done. She was only in that room because she was getting touched up once again per the head makeup artist’s suggestion. The lady’s name was Selena and although the name reminded Clary of the former Luna, it was a totally different person. Music played in the room and a huge vanity mirror reflected Clary’s face back to her. She looked amazing and could not imagine that she had come this far. She had gone from being an omega to being the Luna of the pack. It was a dream come through for her, no, in fact, it was beyond her dreams. Because all she had wished for since she was little was just to be happy; to find a mate, live a normal life and be happy. The door of the room opened and Ace walked in. When he glanced at Clary, his heart skipped a beat. He could not believe that he was no
The sound of the medical machine beeping echoed like it had been placed underwater. Clary’s eyes fluttered open and her vision was at first blurry before she blinked and it got cleared up.The air smelled perfumed and the sound of the medical machine beeping was now more evident. The omega’s throat was parched and she tried to swallow but it was very uncomfortable. That made her cough a bit. That was when she noticed that she was not alone in what she guessed to be a hospital room, even though it looked a bit fancy. Who she saw caused her heart to drop. “Dad?” She tried to speak but her voice came out a hoarse cry. It was the preacher, the guy was sitting not far from her in a chair by the bed. The preacher almost choked on the juice that he was drinking. It was what one of the nurses had given him because he had been in the room for almost the whole day without eating; only leaving for the bathroom and water breaks. He coughed for a few seconds before clearing his throat. He sta
Upon impact with Selena, Clary’s wolf was sent flying in the other direction. Her back hit the living room table, smashing it into many pieces. There were a few shards that poked into her back. And it hurt like crazy. “Stand up and fight, omega! Or should I say, Luna?” Selena mocked Clary as she approached her. Clary quickly rose to her feet but was pinned back to the floor of sharp shards just as quickly by the former Luna. She tried to get free from the demon’s strong hold over her but it was way too hard. “You’re hurting me,” Clary pushed the words out as she fought against the strength of Selena. “That’s the point,” The former Luna laughed out the words. She held Clary’s wolf down with just one hand and was now using the other one to try to stab it in the chest of the omega, aiming for her heart. Clary was so scared, not just for her but for her baby. “Surrender,” She heard her wolf say to her, and confusion filled her. Surrender? That would mean absolute death! That did not
It must have been three in the morning. The rain had finally stopped, not even a single drop falling anymore. The cabin had the smell of death lingering and the atmosphere was tense. Star was devastated. He felt depressed that his wolf and demon had been taken away from him by the Moon goddess. Yeah, he may have deserved it, but he would have preferred death over being made a human. You see, this was common in the pack, and maybe in other packs too. Every werewolf feared their wolf being taken away from them. They saw it as the highest form of punishment. If most of them had to choose between death and having their wolves taken away from them, death was going to be the popular option. Having one’s wolf taken away meant shame, demotion, and disgrace, and was just almost every werewolf’s worse nightmare. The hybrid stood not too far from Clary and barely paid attention to what was going on. He was still in disbelief that this had happened. Selena shifted back into her human
