Katrina’s point of view
My mate Xavier and his beautiful Gamma Bianca are laughing and eating like they’re on a first date. But the joke is on me…
It was like hot wax was being poured into my ears just hearing how happy he was with her. He kisses her neck, whispering into her ears and I try so much not to listen to it.
He said “This is my future Luna, Bianca from the Black Fang”
He introduced her as she bowed her head before Mrs. Blackwood, who beamed with a smile as she placed her hand on Bianca’s shoulder.
Xavier pulled her closer to him, his arm around her waist as he told his mother how she saved him and how she fought so bravely during the battles they both went to.
She had a pixie cut, with plumped-up lips and high cheekbones. She wore baggy jeans with a crop top and high-heeled boots.
I watched him as he kissed her temples so gently, unable to keep his hands away from her.
He didn’t have any shame.
Mrs Blackwood looked me up like I was some bad omen who just took away her happiness.
The woman had just changed and acted like she didn’t know me. Like she had no idea who I was.
Bianca said condescendingly, “You are the one who wants to see me, are you not?”
She crossed her arms, staring me down with disrespect in her eyes.
“I have always heard that Gamma Bianca is a warrior who is even more valiant than Alpha on the battlefield. So I wanted to ask you in person. I never thought that you would be ready to be someone’s mistress.” I said. Xavier held her by her waist, not caring that I could see him.
Not caring about how he promised to love me and make sure never to hurt me.
“Watch your tongue! They have already completed the mating mark under the blessing of the Moon Goddess. Bianca is his rightful mate.” Mrs. Blackwood snapped, “Bianca is the first Gamma. How can she be a mistress? She will also be Luna. You two are equal.” She declared Xavier not saying anything to me.
I looked around me, and people were watching us. The elders are also in the living room. Were they also on his side?
Mrs. Blackwood, who has always been kind towards me and always blessed me, was speaking to me like I was a stranger.
I inhaled sharply, remembering that this part of me was something I wanted to hide.
I asked them “Luna Duet? Luna Duet? Two legal wives? Which pack has ever had a precedent for this?”
I can’t believe the nonsense I’m hearing. I try as much as possible not to be shocked by the nonsense being uttered by Mrs. Blackwood.
I paid their medical bills using our money, my family’s money. Took them to their doctor’s appointments, but this is how she repays me? Welcoming another woman as her son’s mate?
I felt my eyes brim with tears, but I can’t break down. I won’t let them have the satisfaction of seeing me broken.
“Since you have served as the Luna of our pack, you should be on Blackwood’s side. Xavier and Bianca have both contributed greatly to this war and from now on, husband and wife will be of one mind...”
I interrupted her. “Husband and wife? Where does that leave me?” I asked her, shifting my attention back to Xavier.
Bianca chuckled softly when I asked Xavier about my future. Was she amused by all of this? Did she find it funny?
“Was that funny?”
“What I despise most is housewives like you, Luna, and I disdain to get entangled with someone like you who meddles in household and internal affairs. I am a she-wolf, so if you know what’s good for you, you’ll accept this outcome, or else...” she threatened, taking a step forward towards me.
I could almost live with the fact that it was Xavier’s mate, but she was threatening me. Calling me names when she hasn’t been in this pack for more than twenty-four hours.
“Gamma Bianca, don’t forget, I’m from Snow Pack. My father and my brothers died in battle on the southern battlefield three years ago. I am as well...”
Xavier, who had been silent all along, interrupted me” Those are them, not you. You have always been a noble lady raised from childhood to be a future Luna. You are not even comparable to Bianca in the slightest. All you know is how o find the next recipe for peanut butter cookies” He pulled her closer to him as she rested her head on his shoulder.
Cookies? He always told me they were his favourites.
I chuckled softly, shaking my head. “You were the one who proposed to me in my pack and promised my mother that you would do right by me. Now you have betrayed that promise, so don’t act like I’m the one standing in the way of you lovebirds.”
Bianca said arrogantly, “So I’m the one who’s interfering with your marriage, the home wrecker??”
Folding her arms as she looked at me, her brow raised. I can see her lip twitch as she glares at me.
“What will pack people say?” I tried to reason with Xavier, hoping he would realise the mistake he was making right now.
“The person who has been taking care of your parents and the affairs of the pack for the 12 months is Luna Katrina, Alpha. How could you do this…?” Elder Alex tried to speak.
Before he could finish, he was silenced by Xavier’s Alpha voice, “How dare you tell me what to do?”
His aura radiated off him as I swallowed hard, my heart pounding so fast, Xavier was always respectful towards people.
He has never raised his voice at me, but today he was raising it?
Xavier hurriedly explained to Bianca, “I made it clear to her yesterday. Back then, I didn’t understand love, so she tricked me into becoming mates. It wasn’t until I met you that I realized you were my true mate.”
He lifted his chin, looking deep into her eyes, while his knuckles gently stroked her cheeks. He brought his forehead to hers, rubbing their noses together.
My mouth fell open as I looked into his eyes. I gulped the lump that formed in my mouth, trying not to lose it.
Xavier looked at me and said, “Bianca and I never wanted to hurt you. You will remain Luna Katrina... Since we will be spending a lot of time together on the battlefield, you can raise our children, which will strengthen your position.” He said, holding her hand as she tilted her head, resting it on his shoulder, while her other hand rested on his chest.
I felt my blood boil as I looked into his eyes. He was joking. There was no way he was speaking to me right now.
I clenched my fists as I looked into his eyes. “You want me to raise your children?” I asked him, and he gave me an affirmative nod.
I felt knots in my stomach as I glanced at Mrs Blackwood, who was reluctantly nodding her head.
How can they shamelessly ask me to be their free surrogate after what they did to me? Just thinking about it makes me sick.
Katrina’s point of view “Surrogacy? You are asking me to have your children for you?” I asked a bitter taste in my mouth just asking those questions.I feel nauseous just thinking about what Xavier was subjecting me to.Xavier gently stroked Bianca’s face while reassuring her that everything was fine. ”it’s okay, baby. I got this”Is this what a mate bond does to someone? Do they lose their mind?I was once the woman he made those promises to. Those whispers. And now he was asking me to be his surrogate?“If you want your child, I can have a son or daughter with you. But after that, I won’t touch you.” He remarked, turning to look at me as I closed my eyes, chuckling softly. How does he expect me to sleep with him when he has been with her? How does that even make sense?I clench my fists trying to calm myself down when I turn to BiancaI asked Bianca “Do you agree with that?”“I’m not jealous, the one who is not loved is the most pitiful. Xavier and I are just looking out for you. If
Katrina’s Point of View “How dare you disobey and hurt your alpha for an omega?” Mrs Blackwood pretends to pass out from anger, holding her temples.I almost roll my eyes. She can be such a drama queen seriously.“Get Pack, Doctor Andrea over here!” Xavier panicked, rushing to his mother’s while she pretended to be struggling to breathe.“Mother, you’d better get some rest. After all, Doctor Andrea is almost finished with the medication he prescribed for you. The Doctor won’t be coming back again.” I murmur, leaning in as I help Thelma to her feet.“Katrina, how dare you stop a doctor from coming to treat my mother? You miscreant bitch!” Xavier spat, his eyes flickering.“Alpha Xavier, it was Doctor Andrea himself who resigned. He felt that treating people with disgusting ethics would be a stain on his professional reputation.” I smirked, doing back the urge to burst out laughing at the scene unfolding before me. He thought people would stay?I helped Thelma up and was about to leave
Katrina’s Point of ViewI had just returned home after my meeting with the alpha king. I can only imagine what is waiting for me.Xavier kicked open my room with a snarl. “You went to see Alpha King? You went to beg him to revoke Bianca’s Luna ceremony, didn’t you?”I can’t believe the only thing he’s worried about is his mistress’s ceremony, when there are other things he should be worried about.I looked at the outraged man very calmly, denying it. “I did not.” My voice is monotone. There was no point in denying it, since it seemed he already knew what happened. Soon he would see the alpha king in this pack.Xavier snarled low, “Liar! You said you were going to REJECT me while you were trying to keep me from being with Bianca behind my back, hypocrite!”It seems that I never really knew this man. I almost want to bust out laughing at how dramatic he is.I fold my arms, staring him down as he clenches his fists on his sides, approaching where I was standing, his teeth seething as he c
Xavier asked me in shock, “You can fight?”He seemed like he had seen a ghost before him, his eyes staring me down. He growled, his eyes flickering different colours.I stared at the huge grey wolf in front of me and said, “Not really, better than you though.” the corner of my lips turned up into a smile.Xavier was enraged and growled, ‘I am your Alpha, you must obey me,’ and pounced on me.I used my fastest speed to kick him in his gut, forcing him back into human form as he slid on the floor.Everyone looked at me in shock, their mouths open like they had seen a ghost, and he staggers, as he holds his ribs.I take my time fixing my dress.“What are you?” I heard someone murmur in the crowd. My lawyer said, “Katrina’s last name is Snow, and the Snow Pack has always been known for their warriors.”A sense of pride in his voice when he says that. I take my time staring at my nails.Xavier stood up and rushed towards me. “If you are so capable, why didn’t you say so?” His eyes flickered
Katrina’s point of view“Snow pack’s Alpha Patrick was a great hero. The male members of the Snow family all died defending our borders, leaving only Katrina Snow, their only surviving daughter. Therefore, the responsibility and authority to rebuild the Snow Pack rests with Katrina, and the mate she chooses can take over as Snow Pack’s newest Alpha.” He says, his eyes roaming around the room.I can feel my chest pounding as fast as I look at him. I have never looked forward to something like the way I was looking forward to this verdict.“Please let it be a verdict freeing me,” I prayed inwardlyI broke down in tears, Father, Brother, I will rebuild Snow Pack. Whenever I think of what my family had to go through, I can’t help but break down in tears. My mother-in-law muttered, “If there is no rejection, then wouldn’t it be logical for Xavier to merge Snow Pack and become the Alpha of both packs?”She interrupted before he could even finish giving his ruling.Goddess, this woman! She ju
Xavier’s Point of ViewWords. Meaningless words were all that Katrina had told me.The last memory of me and her in our bedroom lingered on my mind.“I will wait. I will take care of your mother and the pack. And I promise to wait for you for as long as I will,” I remember what she said tenderly to me before we mated, she said, lying in my arms.“I Love you so much, Xavier Blackwood, and I always will.” She had said to me.But she lied. She lied to me.“Are you done rejecting her? Did you manage to take away at least half of her assets?” Bianca looked at me expectantly, bringing me back from a train of thoughts.I never realised that in just two years, Katrina’s traces were everywhere in the Pack.I lowered my head thinking of how everything went down when they started taking everything that was in her name. Was she ready to leave me from the beginning? Why were things insured in her name?I lowered my head, rubbing my hands together as she stood there with her arms folded.Bianca said
Katrina’s point of viewThe wedding scene in Blackwood differed from what I had imagined. It wasn’t like how I had expected it.“Luna, a marriage blessed publicly by Alpha King should have been attended by many powerful guests. Why only these Black Fang are soldiers attending Luna’s ceremony? No one from Blackwood or any Alpha from the other Packs is here?” Thelma asked me as we arrived on the ceremonial grounds where the wedding was taking place.I held on tight to my clutch, my eyes roaming around the place.“Moreover, neither the bride nor the groom are here,” Thelma added.I only hope Xavier didn’t trick me into coming here, I thought inwardly”Luna Katrina.” Amy, Beta Luke’s wife, shouted immediately as she saw us walk into the banquet hall. She was one of the few people who helped me once the time I was leaving, and I will always be grateful that she was brave enough to stand up to Xavier.“Just call me ‘Katrina’ now.” I corrected her, my eyes roaming around the hall. She bows h
Katrina’s Point of View“Your invitation was delivered to my house. I have a clear conscience, so what’s there to be afraid of?” Xavier lowered his head, afraid to look at me, Bianca by his arm.Bianca provoked, “Call me Luna Bianca.” Smirking as she says that.I could feel my wolf sage, trying to surface and give Bianca a piece of her mind, but she can be so unpredictable.‘Easy tiger’ I linked to her before I decided to respond to Bianca“Only you are eager to be Blackwood’s Luna, and no one else cares. I wish you a fortunate marriage, and I hope you two will be bound together so that you won’t cause any more harm to others.” I sarcastically said to her, and she let out a low growl, clenching her fist.About to come for me, as Xavier looked away from her.“Relax Bianca. You don’t want to start having wrinkles, it’s too early. Smile a little. It’s your wedding after all” I smirked before turning on my heel and making my way out of the banquet hall with Thelma. I was anxious to confir
Ingrid’s point of viewHe doesn’t want us. He hates us so much and I know it’s because of that woman. A woman who can’t seem to let go of him.‘You can’t blame the luna. It’s our mate who doesn’t want us,’ My wolf Gus retorts. Always the one to come up with a reason. Sometimes I hate her for being such a smartass.‘I can hear you,’ she slaps back.‘Meant for you to hear it,’ I retort. I sink into the chair. Thinking of how I am going to handle this. Lucius is mine. Fated to be mine, but he wants a woman whom he can’t have?“I need to speak with him,” I say, determined. This time, he won’t ignore me. I know he feels the pull between us. Even the way he looks at us says it all.Like when I hugged him this morning. I could feel him lean back on me until that woman had to show up.“Talking to yourself again?” My omega Millie asks walking into the room with her basket of clothes.“Well, thinking about how to win over a man,” I say, turning to her, and she sighs heavily, setting down her ba
Lucius’s point of viewShe won’t fight for us. She doesn’t want to. I wish she thought maybe I was worth it. Worth fighting for, but I guess I am not.People fight for me because they know I can protect them. Others fight for me because of loyalty. No one has ever fought for me because they love me.I had hoped maybe Katrina might fight because she loves me. I sigh heavily, scribbling down on my notepad.“Unfortunately, this should have been communicated to us. Princess Kaelin is like a sister to me. I will not send her there with these conditions,” Cassian snaps.“We are giving you this land. I think it’s safe that she is—”“She is to be treated with respect. I will not have you marrying other women. A mistress or second wife. This treaty is done,” he snaps as Aidan smiles like this is funny. I won’t let my cousin be subjected to that.“I wasn’t suggesting that. I only meant in case she can’t bear children,” he adds as I scoff, shaking my head.“And how are we to know you are not the
Katrina’s point of viewNothing can go wrong. I need it to go well. This is an opportunity for me to enter the rogue pack. I kept quiet the entire time while in the front passenger seat.Xavier is driving in front, and Martin is behind with Gamma Suri, while the other cars are with the delegation of twenty from the rogue king.“I hear Lucius found his mate,” Martin says behind me, breaking the awkward silence. I shift in my seat, glancing towards Xavier, who looks through the rearview, then back at me.“I suppose some people are not that lucky with love,” he says, but I just ignore him. He will try to get to me like his sister. I know it.“It’s not her fault if all the men in her life end up failing to fight for her. I know I would,” Gamma Suri retorts as I raise my eyebrows.“Between her and that psycho. I would pick her. But I guess most men think with their cocks,” she retorts. I gasp, glancing at Xavier, who fidgets in his seat.“That psycho is my sister, you bitch!” Martin retort
Lucius’s point of viewI don’t know how long she keeps driving, but when I finally open my eyes. We are by the border; the car has pulled over, and she is unbuckling her seat belt.“What the fuck, Katrina? I had a meeting with Cassian,” I snap, and she sighs heavily.“I am here to welcome the rogue king. I wasn’t going to be late because you have issues going on in your life,” she says, about to get out of the car, when I grab her wrist.I want to pull her into me and kiss her, but I know all this must be hard for her. “You love me, Katrina.” The words leave my lips. It’s the only assurance I have. It doesn’t matter what is happening. I know she loves me, so that’s enough for me.“So? That means nothing.”“It’s enough for me. Knowing that you love me. Not because of a bond but because you do” I whisper to her and her heart races.“Well, if I had known, you planned all this. I wouldn’t have fallen for you. And also, don’t worry. I am working on falling out of love with you,” she growls
Lucius’s point of view“Katrina.” Her name rolls off my lips like a whisper when I see her walking away from Princess Ingrid.Something tells me Ingrid said something to Katrina. I heard her say she didn’t fight for men. Guess I am included in that.“Gerald, send me the details. Let’s catch up later.” I patted his shoulder and bolted the doors.“Luc!” Ingrid turns to me, a smile on her face, while Katrina walks away.“I was fucking clear. Stay the fuck away from me!” I growled, walking away, but she grabbed my wrist. Her touch sends electricity through me. My heart pounds so hard, and I feel my palms getting sweaty.“Don’t you fucking touch me!”“Please. I know you feel it. I know you feel this pulls between us,” she said pleadingly says, but trying to touch me, but I yank her hand away from her grip.“I was clear. I want nothing with you. I don’t want a bond with you.” I spun on my heel, ready to leave.“Is it because of her?” she asks.I stopped in my tracks. Taking a moment, before
Katrina’s point of viewI’m his mate. The woman he wrongfully marked and sent to the goddess, but somehow, I was brought back to life.Three people knew what happened: my father, Lucius, and the witch who performed the spell to bring me back and erase my memories. But who is she? Why can’t I remember her face? I inwardly ask myself as I make my way towards the palace. It’s the first time in seven days that I will probably be here, but Aidan insisted he would feel better if I were here.So here I am playing bodyguard to beta Aidan, but I also didn’t expect to find Lucius and his ‘Mate’ here cuddling.‘He is ours! She can’t have him,’ Sage fumes.I don’t know where I stand, but he isn’t ours.He never was.My heart never learns.“Katrina!” I hear him shout behind me, but I don’t stop and head for the drawing room. I don’t want to hear his excuses.“Katrina!” he tries to touch me, but I spin on my heel, slapping him across the face. The sound of my hand connecting with his cheek echoed i
Lucius’s point of view“Wow. Okay, this is too much to process,” Cassian says to me as I nod my head, throwing back my head.“Fuck Lucius. How could you be so reckless?”“I don’t know. Zane isn’t exactly someone I can rein in. He was a beast back there and everything he wanted he got,” I snap, sitting up and burying my face in my hands.‘So, this is my fault?’‘Fuck yes.’‘Really? Cause I told you not to tell her, and you didn’t listen. If there’s anyone to blame. It’s you,’ he shoots back.Of course, it is.“Still, Lucius. It was reckless and stupid.”“It was all Zane.”‘So, I am stupid? I will not let him insult us anymore’ Zane growls, and Cassian shakes his head before coming to sit in front of me.“She asked to be part of the team escorting Kaelin to the rogue pack. Any reason she is doing that?” He asks me as I shake my head.“Probably to get away from here as soon as possible,” I mutter, rubbing my face. It’s been a fucking week, and I haven’t seen or even bumped into her. She’
Katrina’s point of view“You are my mate, Katrina. This mark you carry is mine.” Lucius’s voice fills my head, a knowing smile on his lips as he thrusts deep into me.“Yours,” I whisper before digging my canines in his spot. I can’t help but smile. This is what I want to be loved. To be his.For the world to know, I carry his mark. So, tell me why someone is ruining my dream.“We are losing her!” someone shouts, his voice laced with panic and fear. A muffled voice comes barking instructions, and my head feels heavy, and I can’t open my eyes.‘Lucius?’ I try to link to him, but there’s a void. It’s dark. I can’t feel him.‘Sage?’ I call to my wolf, but she is distant. I can’t feel her. Panic courses through my veins. I’m drowning in darkness.A dark void.I have been here before. It’s a familiar place.Dad.I smile when I see him staring at a small light on the other side.“I shouldn’t have lied to you.” His voice comes, but I can’t see his face. “He was yours, but the law can’t allow
Katrina’s point of view“Lucius, you are not making any sense,” I say, but the words come out like a whisper. I have always wondered why I seemed to link with him alone and no one else, but I never gave myself time to ponder it too much.“You shouldn’t say things like that. You know, right?” I say with a sad smile, and he lowers his head, bringing the entire bottle of whiskey to his lips.“What’s this, Lucius?”My questions are met with silence and rather a loud throbbing of his heart. He tightens his jaw, his lisp quivering when he lifts his gaze to meet mine. His eyes linger on my lips, but he sniffles back, shaking his head.“That woman is not my mate,” he says, but it was clear there. Even though he tried to hurt her, he was still her mate. They are fated to be each other’s mate.“Luc...”“She is not my mate.” He pauses, taking a moment. He closes his eyes like he is counting to ten before continuing. “You are my mate.”The silence is deafening. I just stare at him. He must think
