Chapter Twenty - Day off

The morning went by like bliss as I woke up from a nostalgic dream where I was back in my teenage years, walking alone in the hallway of my school because of my family's state of life.

Everyone knew that I was an orphan because of Dexter. He kept on denying that I was living in their house because both of my parents are absent.

He even gloated that their family was offering me kindness and charity because they don’t have any other choice.

Because of that, I became anxious about having new friends. No one even bothered to approach me because of the numerous rumors.

But that alone didn’t stop me from studying hard, reaching my goals, and finishing my studies no matter what.

I rose from my bed before I decided to look at the only mirror I have inside that spacious, tidy room.
