Adrian POV

I felt a jolt of excitement when I got a call from Linsey. I didn't know what to expect since she'd been acting cold to me.

What was her deal anyway? I thought she had this huge crush on me, but she was acting as if she hated me!

"Where are you today?" Betty barked next to me, and I suddenly remembered her being next to me. I was so deep in thought I pretty much forgot about Betty.

"Lindsey called me today," I told her.

Betty's eyes flickered. "What did she want?"

"She asked me to go out with her on a date," I said.

"Is that right? And what did you tell her? You aren't planning on hanging out with her, are you?" Betty breathed.

"Of course, I'm planning on hanging out with Lindsey, Betty. I have to marry her, don't I? Don't you think it'd be suspicious if I refused to see her when she is showing interest in me?" I said irritably. Sometimes, Betty didn't know how to use her brain, which bothered me.
