We're going back to Braxs pack today; everyone agreed I couldn't stay where I was, and I couldn't go home. When I woke up, the room was darker than it had been when I fell asleep. I looked over at the time, seeing it was midnight. My stomach growled with hunger, so I got up to see if I could find the kitchen. I walked the halls, trying to be quiet in case anyone was sleeping. I walked for what felt like hours when it was around ten minutes. I was just about to give up hope and come to terms with the fact I was lost when I heard voices having a heated conversation. One of the voices belonged to Brax, the other voice I didn't recognise. I locked myself away in my room for weeks, reading book after book one, all things magical, only ever leaving to get more books or eat. I stayed away from Brax as best I could. I could tell every time I ran from him, it hurt him, but I wasn't ready to talk to him yet or even be near him. I needed to learn more about myself first before I worried about what was going on between me and him. I did find a few things in the book Of a Girl that was half wolf and half witch. Most of those books just left me with more questions than I started with, so whenever I found a book with it in it, I'd put it to the side with the others for me to return to another time. The book that had called to me when I went back to get more books it was gone, which I was disappointed by, but I didn't give it much thought.I've grown to like Eve. After I'd cooled off in a nice cold shower, I got dressed and made my way downstairs to go and join Brax for dinner, as he asked. Walking into the dining room, I found Brax standing by the table, looking nervous. I went with Eve, who helped me tend to my wounds before showering. I was nervous about talking to Brax about what I had just learned. But I knew I had to find out the truth about him. I fell asleep in his arms. I had never felt more at peace and safe in my life. I never wanted this to end, but I knew I would soon leave to go and be with his brother. I wanted to take back what I said and find a way that I didn't have to leave, but I knew I couldn't stay. Too many people would get hurt if I stayed. He took me around the pack house after we were done talking, showing me all the different places where people worked and how they all helped make the pack run smoothly. No job was any less important than the other in Brax's eyes. He explained that without the Servants and maids, the people in the guard would not be able to spend as much time training and doing their jobs because they would have to cook and clean up after themselves. I liked the way he ran the place, treating everyone as equals. No one, no matter the place in the pack, ever went without. He led me back to his office when we were done.
